They are items we can buy afterwards correct? But not if we spent it?
| Pirate GM |
Consumables found you are free to make use of during the adventure and it will not impact your rewards.
Holy water is a level 1 tiem that anybody is free to buy, but items that are higher level or otherwise normally inaccessible may show up on your chronicle sheet as options to buy.
Each scenario has 10 treasure bundles in it that are earned/found in a variety of ways.
If you find all 10 you get 100% of the treasure value for your level (Level 1 is 14gp)
If you only find 8 you get 80% etc.

Thanks

I have no interest in the holy water for now. I dont think I would have the actions to use it efficiently.

I'm dex-y and don't mind grabbing the holy water if nobody minds.

I am on a trip so no full post for the next 7 hours. But a couple of questions.
I did not see any enemies on the slides is this correct.?
I will hunt prey for the recall knowledge religion +5 please feel free to post the result for me.
Do I need to move next to them for the checks to be made?
By hard you mean 15ish? And by very hard 20+.
| Pirate GM |
Correct, the are currently no observed enemies, just the haunt. note it is not a creature so not huntable.
The haunt takes up a fairly large area, the precise borders of which are currently unknown but you are all within it.
Here is more information on adjusting difficulty and what I mean by hard/very hard. (Hard +2/Very Hard +5).
The exact DCs are unknown.
Isfan ibn Dafuur

I will recall knowledge without hunt prey then.
Isfan ibn Dafuur

I think We should stick to damage or Improving the odds and I would prefer improving the odds by now.
Isfan ibn Dafuur

@ Zaza Are you trained in Occultism? otherwise I think disable was not possible
@ all is it possible to put a CLW Potion into a dying charcter in PF2?
Isfan ibn Dafuur

@ GM, I still assume for tracking I need a place to start where the Kitsume has been correct?Thats Why I have been asking Ti and LI for some place where we can start. Or do you want us to just start rolling survival to try to find a track.
Also I am not sure if it is possible to select the kitsume as prey without ever having seen him, but from the sentence "or you must be tracking the prey during exploration." I assume it will be. Correct?
If that is the case I would also like my free knowledge check as I assume during exploration I have always time for one action.
Isfan ibn Dafuur

*pop up the second question*
| Pirate GM |
Missed this last night, you can indeed select them as your prey while tracking and get to potentially know things before encountering, one of the neat bits of interaction.
The spirits will at least get you started so no need to find a starting place on your own, just following tracks once you're on to them can go a lot faster than following somewhat fickle spirits through the woods on a chase.
Posted the note about it OOC because the tracking isn't up quite yet but it'll save us a back and forth waiting for folks to answer a simple question regarding exploration activities if I ask the question now.
Isfan ibn Dafuur

You've got a round to prepare, although no sense of where the danger is coming from.
So I can assume I have drawn my weapons before the skeletons turned up?
| Pirate GM |
Answer to Zandu's question about initiative here:
You were effectively chatting with the Kitsune when combat triggered rather than avoiding notice so no access to stealth for initiative from avoid notice. (See my note about chatting being effectively an exploration mode activity in gameplay)
Not wanting to completely take Surprise Attack off the menu I figured a good compromise would be to allow the social skills to be used for initiative here as an option. Definitely a stretch and I mostly just require perception (unless avoid notice etc) but it's a bit of the rules I'm working on trying to be more flexible about. Ended up being a bit awkward here.
Always happy to answer questions such as those etc.
Here is the CRB section on choosing the type of roll for initiative for anybody looking for brief reading on the topic.

Thanks GM. Appreciate the clarification.
Unrelated: somebody kick the dice roller, because these rolls are killing me (and likely Zandu as well)
| Pirate GM |
We're not quite there yet, but there's no reason we can't resolve people's downtime.
By default you'll get 8 days of downtime, by far the most common activity is earn income. Which is made via a Perform, Crafting or Lore check. Without anything special going on your task level is your level -2 (min 0)
Meaning at level 1 it's DC 14
CF: 0gp xdays = 0gp
F: 0.01 xdays = 0.08gp
S: 0.05 xdays = 0.4gp
CS: 0.2 xdays = 1.6gp
Earn Income
https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=554
I'm applying this game to a level 1 character.
perform: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
(Crit Fail: 0gp) :(
Isfan ibn Dafuur
|
Why is 9 compared to 14 a critical fail?
I will be retraining my "Monster Hunter" Feat, which costs 7 days as far as I understand.
The last day is spent earning income. Stealth is likely not an option so I copy relious texts in the archives.
Religion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 --> 1,6 gp?

No there it is.
Rebuilding Your Character
You may find that there are aspects of your character where you’re not entirely sure about your decisions, such as the ancestry or class feat you chose. Don’t worry! While your character is 1st level, you can rebuild as often as you need to, changing any of these choices. Until you play a game in which your character has 12 or more XP, you can freely rebuild your character completely except for Reputation earned and character number. Once you begin a session as a second level character, you still have options for changing your character’s choices. In addition to retraining, in which your character spends their Downtime to swap out individual features of their build, you can earn boons that allow you to rebuild your character more extensively.
| Pirate GM |
Natural 1.
Religion is not an option unless you have something that unlocks it. Craft, Lore or Perform are the options.

Ah fine. So its 8 days of lore nature? And a natural 20 is still a critical because it raises the degree of success by one?
Zaza the Measure
|
(Crit Fail: 0gp) :(
Why can't you roll like this for the skeleton?
Also Accounting lore: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
I figure Zaza put in enough extra hours cataloging artifacts and invoices for Amara Li that she got a paycheck.
Cariad Diastar
|
Herbalism Lore: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Herbalism Lore: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Success for the first eight days and crit success for the next four days! Cariad is a field-commissioned agent. Also, I wish I could have rolled like that on my attack rolls.

Assuming Nat survives....
Nat spends his downtime working on a freelance writing assignment for the Daggermark chapter of the Lonely Golarion Guide to the River Kingdoms.
Daggermark Lore: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

For the shame of being botted I think it's only fair Zandu dies, hah!
I hope that people save Nat first. This PC has zero xp, so I promise I won't be heartbroken.
Natollo "Nat" Knaagdier

Nat already improved to dying 1 (and we both have hero points). As long as we don't TPK, I think we'll both be fine.

Yay! This was rough but fun. Thanks!

Big thanks to Dennis for helping me out with my inability to spell half the party's names correctly and for various other minor bumps along the way.
This shelter in place has really started getting to me, my typing error rate has sky rocketed and I feel like I have to spend half as much time again going over my posts and fixing things.

Isfan ibn Dafuur

Looks fine to me. The ACP mentioned are achievement Points correct?
Thanks for hosting an putting up with all my questions, was a very good starting experience.
Now I only need to decide if I like PF2 enough to spend more time on it. And create a new Excel to keep track of all this stuff.
| Pirate Rob |
Ya, since there's currently a pbp convention going on as a player you'll get 5 ACP instead of the normal 4. Collect enough (80) and you can trade them in to play a Leshy or Iruxi. (Once that system works)
Always happy to help answer questions.
I find I do best making my own sheets but in case you're looking for inspiration: Here is my tracking spreadsheet. I've got characters and then upcoming games on left with adventures and where credit has gone and is going to the right.
and Here is my character build skeletons.
(I do accounting so spreadsheets are like a way of life for me)
If you're looking to try a virtual tabletop (voice chat, playing through a scenario together for ~4-5hours in a single go etc) check out The PFS online discord. They've got games going on all the time.

I now what you mean, I irl I am a human sorcerer of the Excel Bloodline so I do like do do them myself too. But inspirations are always helpful.

Yeah been thinkling about that, but I don't think this runs too well with the Lady of the house.
And PbP as a format is fine, although the ending was a bit anticlimatic due to me being in a different timezone from the player delivering the final hit.But my main problem is that I dislike the design of PF2. OTOH it's hard to get into the few longterm PF1 games here in the forum. So I will probably stay at it to get my minimum RPG fix at least.
Anyway thanks very much for the fun game and I like your GM Style very much.If you are ever looking for players for a longer Adventure or Full Path, Count me interested no matter the system.
