Nettlox grimaces and calls over to the Commander while ushering his crewman into cover.
"And with what, my toenails?
The computers of the stations aren't running yet and I seriously doubt that it will react to external commands."

Once in cover he performs a scan of the robot while shouting in its general direction.
"Command word: Shutdown.
We are star fleet personnel from the USS Amity."

Scan the Bot, Control+Engineering? 15: 2d20 ⇒ (19, 17) = 36
Heh, not my field of expertise indeed - at least no complication.

Scan the Bot is Actually Insight an Engineering. Fortunately it is Difficulty 0, so you don't create any Momentum or a Complication.

The scan reveals the drone to be a primitive AI construct with a damaged voice system. It is armed with a primitive rapid-fire projectile weapon with 400 rounds of ammunition. A laser sight appears on the nearest Nettlox' chest and a round drops into the weapon’s chamber.

I'm going to spend 1 Threat to seize the initiative and go first. Minor Action to Aim, Attempt a Task

The security bot lines up a shot with Nettlox' chest and sprays primitive projectiles at him, but the Engineer anticipates the attack.

You guys are up. Combat rules start on 169 of the core book. Party who is in habitat, I'm going to say it takes you two turns of moving to get back to this location since there is no automated travel like turbolifts here on the station. Which doesn't rule out other options.

Using the transporters is a Control+Engineering Task Difficulty 2. Target not on a transporter pad is +1 Difficulty. Destination is not on a Transporter pad is +1 Difficulty. Total Difficulty of 4. I'll let Captain Tharhat assist to give one success. Xin can use a minor action to move to the transporter room (otherwise it would be +1 difficulty).

At the transporter controls in transporter room 3, Ensign Batan moves his hand over the three sliders that activate the transporter. Tharhat, Sobek, and K'rist vanish in a shimmer.

Batan hails Xin on the bridge, "Commander Xin-Yalix, I've got them in the buffer, but I can't get a lock on the reactor module. There must be some sort interference from the radiation released by the reactor. I might lose them, sir."

Looks like Xin will have to take this one on himself.

Xin, Feel free to use some Momentum

Attempting the Task does include getting an assist from the ship. There are two reasons this all falls to Xin. 1. NPC crew aren't supposed to be able to succeed at Tasks harder than difficulty 0. 2. I figure the guy left behind on the ship should get in on the drama. Xin-Yalix has every competence to handle the situation and several options for doing so. His "Technical Expertise" Talent will let him re-roll any of the die he uses, including the ship die. You have 6 Momentum, so plenty to buy extra dice. And if he really wanted to be sure of success, he could spend a point of Determination based on his Value "Every problem has a solution." That would add a die that automatically counts as having rolled a 1.

"Thanks for the heads up, Commander."

Coop takes a moment to aim his phaser at the robot's ocular sensor and lets loose.

"Looks like a single security robot, Cap." he barks into his arm hoping he left the channel open. "Old tech, could be jury rigged. Keep a good eye open, there could be other nasties about!"

I'm going to burn 1 Momentum for the extra dice.

Control + Security (14): 3d20 ⇒ (8, 3, 16) = 27
Aim reroll: 1d20 ⇒ 5

Woohoo! With Aim, that's 3 successes!

We were at Momentum 6 Threat 12. I spent 1 Threat, Coop spent 1 Momentum.

Coop, hitting with a ranged weapon is always Difficulty 2, so you hit and generate 1 Momentum. Then you need to roll effect dice. You get 3d6 for the phaser and 3d6 for your Security Discipline. You can spend that Momentum, or other Momentum, on Penetrating (ignore 2 resistance per Momentum spend), or on extra damage (1 damage per Momentum) or spend 1 to reroll as many of the damage dice as you want.

Current Momentum 6 Threat 11.

I'm gonna spend the momentum on Penetrating. It's a robot, so it might be more armored than my inevitably-going-to-be-kirk-ripped shirt.

Damage: 6d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1, 5, 3, 6) = 20

So Coop does 5 Stress damage. 2=2, 1=1, 5=1, 6=1. The robot has 1 Resistance, but you ignore it. Because you do 5 or more damage, the robot suffers an injury. I'm going to spend Threat (you guys can spend Momentum) to avoid an injury. An injury would take my robot out of the fight, and where is the fun in that. Even though I avoid the injury, I still take the Stress. This costs 2 Threat.

Momentum 5, Threat 9

I'll wait for Xin-Yalix to take on that transporter Task.

Captain, Doctor, and Security Officer vanish from the habitat and materialize in the umbilical leading into the Reactor Module, the umbilical that does not contain a murderous robot.

Around the corner, in the reactor room, the robot continues its assault, "Intruuders-Eliminate" spraying bullets at T'Venek. The dark haired Vulcan engineer drops under the hail of bullets, her green blood pooling freezing as it flows onto the frosty decking.

More than 5 stress, so she is injured and can take no more actions in the scene.

Reroll 4s 2d6 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8 if I can

That is 6 Stress from Tharhat's attack, which causes an injury, and reduces the robot to 0 Stress, which causes an injury. The robot is incapacitated.

Tharhat connects with the center mass of the tank-like robot. Its servos sag as its power fails, and servos make a whirring sound as its machine gun lowers to the floor. The laser sight flickers and dies.

Sobek looks at the Captain appraisingly, "Excellent shot, Captain. Please stay behind me as I determine whether the device is neutralized."

He moves toward it, careful not to touch the metal with his bare hands.

The character attempts to stabilize an Injured character within Reach. This is a Daring + Medicine Task with a Difficulty of 1 (2 because of the Debilitating quality of the weapon); success means that the injured character is stabilized and will not die at the end of the scene, but they remain incapacitated. The character may spend 2 Momentum from this to get the patient back into the fighting right away, exactly as if they’d spent Determination to ignore the Injury. This will keep T'Venek from dying. If you stabilize her, she can be transported to the ship and treated off screen.
