Joeseph cries somewhat annoyed "Oh, come on!! The kid just said it's a vicious creature. It should be put down."
GM Whiterose
Yeah, it's supposed to be a drawback, not a boon.
A chorus of agreement accompanies the young man's statement. "Kill it!" "Die, Bloo" and "Rot in the Hell's" echo from the darkness.
Viria stands at the back of the group, nervously biting her lip.
Initiative Round #2:
Sykes
Bloo
Viria
Aleziella
Joeseph
GM Whiterose
Sorry, I missed your action. I believe that that was Sykes AoO.
Will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
That would be a no.

Joeseph says "Quick, Sykes, kill it before it wakes!" The middle aged man would do it himself, but the younger man has a stronger arm.
Aleziella Libuyaza
"And down it goes." Aleziella says with a smile. "Hopefully I'll grow more powerful to be able to keep them asleep longer soon." Her face turns thoughtful as she brushes over the newly acquired harrow deck, wondering if conversing with Zellara could help her gain more power.
She turns towards the voices in the darkness. With a raised voice she calls out. "Gaedren and Yagrin are dead. Just like you all, we've suffered under them. They will torment you no more. We're here to deliver the good news and to see how we can help you. My name is Aleziella Libuyaza."
Sykes Vorkanna
Sykes promptly plunges his blade into the dog as it slumps to make sure it doesn't get back up.
CDG: 4d6 + 8 ⇒ (3, 6, 3, 2) + 8 = 22 Fortitude DC 32 to avoid auto-dying.

Ok, pretty sure it's dead.
Joeseph steps away from the dog, sheathing his sword cane. He carefully illuminates the room with the lantern, trying to see the children without blinding them.
GM Whiterose
Fortitude save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
As Sykes puts down the dog a ragged cheer goes up from underneath the walkways. A young boy, perhaps about 13, walks over to the dog and gives it a boot to make sure it's really dead. He looks up at Sykes and introduces himself "I'm Kester, what about Lamm and the others?"

Joeseph looks to the kid a little suspicious. He says "Hi Kester." He doesn't follow up with a question, instead looking for the other kids using his light.
Aleziella Libuyaza

"Sadly Hookshanks got away, we were to busy dealing with Lamm and the crocodile to pay attention to him. I doubt he'll find the redemption Viria wants, but he's not a problem for us now either. The rest are all dead. We came here to tell you the good news and to figure out what to do next. How many of you are there? Do any of you have families to return to?" She walks into the room as she speaks. Stopping to stroke Sykes' powerful arm on the way in before continuing towards the kids.
Sykes Vorkanna
The Ranger arches a brow as Aleziella and her touch drift by him, it was a pleasant reprieve from the grisly business at hand as he pulled his sword out from the still dog's corpse.
GM Whiterose
Having put the dog down, Sykes peers into the darkness to see about a dozen hammocks slung up under the walkway overhead, each with the face of a child, ranging in age from what he'd guess to be anywhere from 7 or 8 years old up to a couple of teenaged kids, staring back with a look of apprehension and fear on their confused faces.
"Lamm's dead?" he asks and you can tell from the sound of his voice that he wants to believe it but is too afraid to hope. Turning at the sound of his name, Kester nods at Joesph quixotically "Mister." he says, unsure if he knows the Investigator or not.
Looking to Aleziella, he hangs his head "No, Ma'am. None of us" he waves his arm to encompass the dozen children in their hammocks "have any family, or as far as I know, not any we'd like to go home to. For many of us the streets, and Lamm, are all we've known."
As Joeseph peers at the children, still in their hammocks, he spots one that may be one of the ones he was hired to look for over the years although older, dirtier, and much more gaunt than the impression he had gotten from the boy's father.

I think I was looking for a girl
Joeseph lets the others deal with Kester and moves to the girl he thinks he recognizes. "Tanya? Is that you?", he asks hopeful.
After he assesses whether or not the child is the one he is looking for, Joeseph says "Today your lives change, kids. You're no longer prisoners. Who here has a family to return to?"
Aleziella Libuyaza
"They just said that none of them have families to return to. I think we can do better for them than just letting then loose on the streets though. Hopefully we can find an orphanage or a temple to take them in. Viria, does your temple deal with such matters?" The elf turns to look to the other girl in the party with a smile.

Joeseph, hopeful that the girl was the one he's searching for, refuses to believe that none of them has a family. At least she must. She has to be it.
