@Zagan - Lifelink only works in sets of 5 damage, so no absorbing damage from Kramac and Beaky yet.
Zagan's arrows go wide as the paladin avoids shooting LIssa in the back. Flyn's arrows have a little more luck, but they still don't seem as effective as the archer would expect. Lissa's whip cracks down on the slime, but slides off its slick form and crashes down to the floor harmlessly. Kramac and Beaky shift their assault to the goop, but it slips and squishes away from their combined attacks.

After taking a moment to collect themselves, the Pathfinders press onward. The darkness relucantly reveals another chamber, its walls lined with tarnished silver mirrors - some of which have been smashed to pieces. Reflections of reflections dance about in the adventurer's lights. As they press further in, the Pathfinders find that the hallway to the south is crisscrossed with crackling black energies that block the entire passageway. To the west, rubble blocks what might have once been an exit.
Each character can attempt each of the following activities:
Study and Manipulate the Wards: You cast detect magic and study the wards in an attempt to gain insight into undoing them. (Cast detect magic and roll Knowledge (arcana) or Spellcraft - pick one.)
Study a Mirror: You look into a mirror and see... something familiar. The images swim and change, but the scenes within are from one of your previous adventures. But something is not quite right in the reflection - there's some detail out of place from what you remember. (Briefly describe a previous adventure, then roll Perception or Sense Motive - pick one.)
Weaken the Physical Structure: You think that weakening the very walls these mirrors are affixed to might also weaken the wards. (Roll Craft (stonemasonry or similar), Disable Device, Knowledge (engineering), or Profession (miner or similar) - pick one.)
Each activity takes 10 minutes to complete, for purposes of tracking effect durations. Please note any re-castings or expirations in your post as well.

After Flora and Lissa drop the blob monster, Flyn nods their way, ”Good job, girls!”
He reaches down to help his friend turned missile weapon up from the ground. ”Kramac, my friend, I thought I was the ranged weapon specialist...but you are a ranged weapon itself, it would seem, and an effective one at that. Come, let us move on and put an end to this madness...”
Flyn nods his appreciation to Zagan and then uses three taps of his wand to heal up. (Using the average for 16 total)
Coming upon the maze of mirrors, Flyn casts detect magic and studies the wards...
Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 6 + 1d5 ⇒ (9) + 6 + (3) = 18
...he then takes a particular notice of one of the mirrors...and sees visions of a past adventure in which he entered an old domain of Tar-Baphon, the Whispering Tyrant, a place on the cursed isle, affectionately called the ‘City of Golden Death’...he sees himself alongside his party fighting the great undead dragon that guarded the entrance to the lich’s treasure room...but something is off...the dragon looks different and one of his friends is down...
Perception: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (20) + 23 = 43

Flora offered her healing wants to anyone who needed them.
I have about 60 CLW charges, so if you need them for healing just roll it and I'll mark it off.
She then peered into one of the mirrors. She saw a younger version of herself leading a group of novice Pathfinders through her homeland. They were racing through the jungle for some prize, a chalice of some sort. She didn't really get the idea of racing for prizes, but was more than happy to explore. After this she would get to explore many more lands than she'd ever dreamed possible.
Perception: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (7) + 23 = 30
Lissa Villasani
|
Lissa's voyage into the past leads to a much less pleasant place. Her first mission outside of Absalom involved finding a dwarven prospector and helping him with a site of dwarven historic significance. However, the site was overrun with Mites and Derro, and the party was not ready for them. They lost the prospector and 3 agents that day before they fled, including one that Lissa considered a dear friend.
Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21
When those horrid memories resurface, Lissa goes to see if she can remove the offending mirror from the wall itself, if anything as a means of rebellion.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33
Kramac
|
Kramac gazes into the mirror recalling one of his most meaningful missions. He sees himself navigating a plague laboratory to save the Jeweled Sages. Delving deep to uncover the corrupting influence, and free each of the sages from her control. And then standing firm against a fell knight, protecting his companions while they dealt with the spirit that had buried its evil influence in the magic jewels.
sense motive: 1d20 + 20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 20 + 2 = 42

The Pathfinders get to work trying to learn more about the barrier before them and how to bypass it. The wards themselves turn out to be too complex for Flyn and Zagan to comprehend, but Kramac helps the elf find a strange pattern of alterations in their reflected memories. Lissa lends her aid in eroding the walls holding the mirrors, allowing Flyn to adjust one just enough the cause the black energies to flicker and die like a fire without fuel.

Master of Spells Sorrina Westyr frowns at the black veins running through Gallowspire’s walls. “Do you see that? That’s pure negative energy flowing through the walls. It’s strengthening every undead creature in all of Gallowspire. If we don’t do something about it, I shudder to think how tough our battles will be against Gallowspire’s strongest defenders. Let’s put a stop to it here and now!” Players, you can send your Spellcaster Aid Characters on this mission.
GMs, please begin the Aid Mission (Spellcaster) when you reach a good point to do so.

Kramac will fly over the pit as Flynn jumps across, hoping to help establish a beachhead on the other side. Kramac will re-cast heroism on himself if it has been 90 minutes since starting the adventure - I know we spent 20 or 30 minutes working on the previous puzzle.
As Kramac flies over, he will attempt to scan the bridge for any traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 21 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 21 + 2 = 41
Come friends, press forward! Flynn and I will secure the other side of the bridge.

"Zagan, can you use that first scroll on me, please?" Lissa asks as she walks up to the pit to guesstimate how wide and deep it is.

Surprise Round! And unfortunately, nobody made the Perception check when you entered the room.
As Flyn lands on the far side of the pit, he hears a chittering voice. Moments later, the ground beneath him erupts with countless insects that bite the archer...
Swarm damage: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6, 4) = 15
Flyn Fortitude vs Distraction: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16
Flyn Fortitude vs Poison: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15
...and Flyn feels something terrible coursing through his veins as he retches and shakes from the vile onslaught. Kramac and Beaky fly above the insects, but find themselves under assault nevertheless as countless bats appear as if out of nowhere, screeching and biting at the pair...
Swarm damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Kramac Fortitude vs Distraction: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (9) + 19 = 28
Beaky Fortitude vs Distraction: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
...but the pair are able to keep their wits about them as Kramac spots a strange creature lurking behind one of the statues.
Flyn Fortitude vs Poison: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29
Flyn manages to push through the poison from the bites, but his nausea remains!
To clarify - Red cast a spell as a standard action and another as a swift action in the surprise round.

Of note, Kinetic blasts do full damage to swarms. It's written into the description of the ability.
Lissa frowns as the mass of bugs begins to swarm over Flyn and Karmac. With a moment to call the crashing surf once again, she fires off another stream of water toward the closest edge of the mass of bugs.

GM: Flyn is wearing a Swarmbane Clasp; while he can suffer damage, he autosaves Distraction, so no nausea. Also, his weapons deal normal damage to swarms.
...and dang, GM! Whassup with your Flyn-hating dice? Two 1's and a 2? You're killing me, Smalls! :)
Flyn fights through the poison and fires at the green swarm he's in...if it disperses and he has an attack left, he'll fire at orange...

Flyn's barrage of arrows scatters the insects closest to him, and two massive blasts of water and ice destroy another patch of the crawlies. But more of them remain, and Flyn is quickly surrounded again...
Swarm damage: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 3, 2) = 12
Flyn Fortitude vs Poison: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24
The other mass of insects starts to head towards the archer as well, then suddenly halts and turns around as if of one mind. Skittering across the floor on tiny legs, the bugs swarm over Kramac instead!
Swarm Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 1, 4) = 11
Kramac Fortitude vs Distraction: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (15) + 19 = 34
Kramac Fortitude vs Poison: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (17) + 19 = 36
The chittering bats do not follow Kramac and Beaky as they retreat, but instead go after the closest creature - Flyn.
Swarm damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
The archer ignores the distraction of so many creatures biting and clawing at him, but he can't ignore the steady drip of blood from the tiny cuts - and neither do the insects beneath him!
Meanwhile, the large creature behind the pillar starts to grind and click its many mandibles and chitinous plates together. The sound worms into the nearby Pathfinders' minds...
Eorsten Will: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Kramac Will: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
Beaky Will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
...and Kramac feels his mind evaporating, leaving nothing but primitive instinct!
Because of the difficulty in implementing the "you must use this reroll before you know the results of the original roll" clause in PbP when the GM is rolling reactive saving throws, I ignore it. If you want to use a folio reroll (or something similar), just make sure it's the first roll of your next post.

Zagan takes some of his companions' injuries upon himself even as his arrow plinks off the statue and clatters to the ground - and the healing cuts off the blood leaking from his companions' myriad wounds. Lissa finishes what Eorsten started, sending the last insects flying with her powerful blast of water. Kramac, mind reduced to less capacity than his faithful companion Beaky, tries to chop at the creature's leg with his sabre and draws black ichor as his heron's beak clacks empty in the air.

@Flyn - Red is certainly out of Point-Blank Shot range. Please make sure your attack modifiers are correct, as it saves me a lot of time tracking things down and double-checking rolls.
