"Beak! NOOOO!"

Flyn shakes his head. "Only a Banshee can make that deadly wail. Beware its terror-causing touch as well...and it's incorporeal. I'm going around to the other side!"

Seeing the hallway filling up quickly, Flyn hurries around to come at the creature from the other side, hoping for a better line-of-sight...he moves 40’ and then casts Open/Close, attempting to open the door west of Flora...

Kramac will draw and activate a spiritbane spike.

Witch's Winter Holiday

As Flora walks past, a ghostly hand lashes out through the stone wall...

Incorporeal Touch vs Flora TAC 18: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (11) + 26 = 37
Negative Energy: 14d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1, 4, 5, 3, 6, 5, 3, 2, 6, 4, 1, 2) = 46
Flora Will, Sickened, Aura: 1d20 + 11 + 1 - 2 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 11 + 1 - 2 + 4 = 19

...and passes through the halfling's torso, leaving her cowering in fear! Zagan blesses his companions once more as Eorsten steps forward and jabs at the ghostly woman through the tiny slit in the wall. A cry of pain interrupts the wail...

Red Will vs DC 30: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (11) + 18 = 29

...and the banshee sputters, her cry returning to the sound of tears rather than her dreaded wail. Eorsten tries to cut her again, but the door blocks his blade and he only chips away at the stone. Flyn rushes around to another door, opening it to see Flora cowering in fear on the other side. Kramac cuts himself with a metal spike that grows into a sword flickering with ghostly flames.

It's lame, but the banshee can pinpoint Flora's location in enough detail to make an AoO and the wall doesn't provide cover because she's incorporeal. Also, I'm assuming that when Flora took damage, Zagan absorbed some of it - this has been reflected in the round tracker below.

GM Screen:
1d3 ⇒ 2

Botting Lissa

Lissa squeezes through the hallway after Flyn, moving into position to see what's happening in the other hallway. Double move.

With a cry of fury, the banshee reaches through the wall towards the paladin who hurt her...

Red Touch vs Eorsten TAC 13: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (11) + 26 = 37
Negative Energy: 14d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 1, 4, 2, 6, 6, 2, 2, 1, 5, 2, 1, 2) = 40

...chilling his soul with her dark touch - but the holy warrior does not fear the darkness! Eorsten also feels the twisting of his guts calm as he remembers his training and his vows.

@Eorsten, please remember to include a target for your attacks. I was assuming you were attacking the banshee through the hole in the wall - please let me know if this is incorrect.

Witch's Winter Holiday

To clarify: Prayer grants a luck bonus that does not stack with the luck bonus from the figurine. In essence, the figurine provides a lesser version of prayer since it doesn't add to damage. So just make sure you're not doubling up on luck bonuses accidentally.

Also, @Flyn, don't forget that you're also taking a -1 penalty on attack rolls from the negative level.

Red Will vs DC 20: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (18) + 18 = 36

Zagan again exchanges his life force for that of his companions before calming his uneasy stomach with some crushed peppermint and ginger. He then calls on the Dawnflower's healing light, but the undead creature bats away the glow with only a small hiss of pain. Lissa scoots around for a better vantage, dismissing her watery exterior for mobility. Flyn moves closer and fires a single arrow into the small window to the cell, provoking another shriek of rage from inside. The archer smiles grimly, feeling his stomach settle once more.

Delaying Kramac and Eorsten

"yyyyyyyyoooooOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUuuuuuu!!!"

Flora watches in horror as the ghostly figure flies through the stone walls to another cell, swooping around the halfing in an arc. As she passes through the hallway, the Pathfinders see a translucent elven woman with long dark hair and a face twisted with rage before she floats into another cell. On the other side, her hand reaches through the wall to claw at Flyn...

...and passing right through the archer's clothes, leaving bruises and rotting flesh in its wake. Flyn steels his mind and resists the urge to cower from the unholy creature's touch.

Only creature that her movement would provoke from would be Flora (since she has cover from Eorsten in the cell). @Flora, your cowering condition has worn off, and if you have a weapon in hand, you can take an AoO as she passes south of you.

The tortured spirit screams in rage as arrow after arrow leaves holes in her ghostly form. Kramac steps up to finish the job, jabbing through the bars to end her suffering once and for all. Like a candle blown out by a stiff breeze, the banshee's form dissipates into the ether.

Flyn lets out a deep sigh of relief as the Banshee is laid to rest. "Good job, my friends...hard pounding that...I think that Banshee had a crush on me..."

Turning to Kramac, he clasps arms, somberly saying, "I can't find the words...but I'm sorry about Beak...I know he was much more than just a mount. Not much solace but, at the very least, you were able to avenge him..."

Looking to Eorsten and Zagan, he nods gratefully. "Thank you both...your efforts in healing me, kept me up long enough to put a few arrows in 'er...I'm in your debt, once again..."

Flyn retrieves the CLW wand he got from supply and uses up the rest of its charges on his injured friends and himself...

Using 1 charge on Eorsten, 3 on Flora, 2 on Zagan (with your extra healing ability, that gets you full, right?) and the remaining 6 on myself ...I think that gets everyone full but me (-24)...

Zagan Caamora wrote:
Zagan sighs as he takes damage and his companions ignore his helpful suggestion. Always think they know best.

"Zagan, I'm sorry...your suggestion was sound...and it was my intent to follow you at the time. But then I noticed Lissa had moved further south and thought she might be isolated if we all moved back...and then Flora made a bold and risky move to attack...and I felt I could do no less. Luckily, we prevailed..."

I understand. Tactics are a fluid science. Here, let me take a look at that.

Zagan will reach out and cast Cure Moderate Wounds: 2d8 + 9 ⇒ (8, 8) + 9 = 25 on Flyn.

Damn, I've never rolled that well :-)

What Flyn said matched what happened as I was posting...I had literally typed up a double move for Flyn up to the room Zagan was in but didn't submit yet...noticed how far south Lissa was on the map and considered a double move to her position so she wouldn't be isolated. Then I saw where Flora had just posted, making the move to the cell door and attacking...that's when I scrapped my move plans and went all in with the attack instead...

Flyn smiles warmly. "Thank you yet again, Zagan…feels good to get a breather...the undead here have beat me like a drum..."

Yeah, perfect roll Zagan...can't get any better than that!

At last, the ritual reaches a critical point, With the ritual’s anchoring stones disrupted and its guardians slain, the Pillar struggles in vain to stop its magic from collapsing. The Pillar trembles, and a psychic scream echoes through the minds of everyone within Gallowspire. The lasts wisps of magic drift away from the pillar’s surface, filling the room with a quiet fog. The taste of corruption fades from the air.

Utter silence falls, as if all the air in Gallowspire has been drawn away by the inhalation of some massive being. But the peace does not last for long. The stillness is broken a moment later by a titanic crack. Fissures form in the walls, and the ground shifts. Silently, a pitch-black nothingness begins to ooze forth from the newly formed cracks in the walls, floors, and ceilings. The cracks spread with supernatural speed, reaching out like grasping fingers to tear the dungeons to pieces. In the Black Caverns, small rocks begin to rain down from above. Gallowspire is falling apart!

Witch's Winter Holiday

Flyn demonstrates the light footwork elves are renowned for, almost dancing through the falling boulders. Flora and Lissa catch up with him, both riding low waves that seem to smooth out the worst of the bumps.

The holy warriors, on the other hand, stagger as the ground shakes beneath them. Zag quickly drinks his potion, but even with his feet off the ground he is hampered greatly by the falling rocks. A loud crack echoes through the Black Caverns, and a large chuck of ceiling collapses over the three Pathfinders! As the dust settles, Lissa looks back in alarm. Her breath catches, then relaxes as she spots all three of her companions unharmed.

Wahoo! Failing the Acrobatics check meant you had to make the Reflex save. Thankfully, everyone who failed the first made the second, so we're off to the next!

The Pathfinders flee through the tunnel, the dim red glow of the river quickly fading behind them. Another tremor shakes the ground, and from his vantage point at the front of the group Flyn sees the tunnel ahead collapse! The Pathfinders quickly come to a halt before the obstacle and begin deciding if they want to squeeze through the rubble (Escape Artist) and take the same path they took to get to the Black Caverns or look for another unblocked route to the Silent Shrine (Survival or Knowledge (dungeoneering or engineering)).

Through the terrible dark and palpable evil of the dungeons of Gallowspire, the expedition fights its way to the surface. The earth beneath and around them continues to shake, and undead monstrosities continue to fight, but the Pathfinders are implacable in their progress. Finally, after many more hours, the dim light of day greets the surviving Pathfinders who emerge from the outskirts of the Gallowgarden. Most show signs of desperate battle and deep exhaustion. As the light grows and shatters the clearing clouds, a few shouts of congratulations soon become a rousing cheer.

Marcos Farabellus steps forward triumphantly. “My friends, I have never been so proud to call myself a Pathfinder as I am today. Thanks to you, and to everyone who gave their lives to this mission, the world does not need to fear a terrible undead blight. The Whispering Tyrant may be a figure of legend, but you have challenged his plots, and you have emerged victorious. Your bravery and determination stand as a shining example, not just to your fellow agents, but to the world. Let us face the challenges ahead in the same spirit. Let us honor our dead and carry their memory and stories with us as we move forward into a new day. Explore! Report! Cooperate!”

That’s the end! Thanks for playing everyone, and thanks especially to the table GMs for all your hard work! GMs, the house has earned the full Necromantic Surge boon (4 boxes remaining).

Looking to all his companions, he offers, "In fact, my ship is open to all of you...let me know where you wish to go from here, and Archimedes and I will take you. I have a keg of ale on board, as well..."

When Flyn arrives at the dock, he whistles up to the lookout, and hears a distinct, "HOOOOOOO!" He laughs loudly, "Yes, dear friend, I'm home...and we have company. Come!" The owl responds by flying swiftly to the ranger's shoulder...
