Loohi Loohi

Loohi moves up adjacent to the pit near the stairs that was indicated, "You saids the trap was here?" He then kneels down, using his tools to Disable this Device.

The Squire'
|
The Squire looks at the prone enemies: "Do you surrender?"
He observes the smart Goblin, and the hidden pit...
Flikk
|
Flikk starts to charge into battle, that crusty booger finally extricated from his right nostril, and charges in... to a heap of dead creatures. "What the heck, you gotta wait for Flikk next time!" He stomps around a bit, and kicks the first downed lizard to move, hollering "Flikk hate walls! Flikk also hate missing fights!"
He takes a few moments to watch Loohi then goes around to the other set of stairs "How 'bout this way, no holes."
Damn you all sure rolled great for level 1. That's what I get for sleeping in I guess.
| GM Bret |
Loohi easily removes the trap door from the pit trap, making it an open pit that only a total fool would walk into. While he is there working on it, he finds a pair of cloth wraps that have been clumsily used to tie together one of the cross‑sections of the trap's support beams.
Two traps, need two rolls.
| GM Bret |
Loohi takes off the other trap door, leaving you two pits.
Tuhdah spends a short time checking and finds out the cloth wraps are magical, radiating evocation magic.
Seeing nothing else of interest here, you head up the stairs.
Slide 10
The spiral staircases leading to this room converge, opening up into a barren stone room. To the east, an open doorway leads to a mirrored room that is almost identical to this one, except that it leads into another room that gives off a strange, eldritch glow through the open doorway.
I placed the tokens based on marching order from slide 2,
I will give people some time to adjust that now. Let me know when you are ready and I will put enemies on the map. Stay in the area I have you, but it is fine if you want to go double-file.
If there was something more you wanted to do in the other room, you can do that as well.
Flikk
|
Flikk is getting jealous of Loohi's stealthiness, he'll also use stealth for his exploration while in this place: +5
Flikk creeps up the stairs while the Longshanks attracts all the wrong kind of attention, bow in hand. Shh no tell him this!
Ionic Saltbeard
|
I fudged up and didn't read the marching order page. I thought the order was the opposite. Anyone want to trade and hang out towards the back? Ionic has mobility issues 'ya yang whippersnappers ain't gotta warry about.' But if he can move up next to Flikk or Squire then he's good!
Flikk
|
If Flikk wasn't such a 'leader' I'd offer to swap.
That Dwarf, always slow boating it in the back row. I'll be sure to tell the big bosses back at the office about that. Its like operation get behind the greenie up here!
Ionic Saltbeard

There you go Ionic, I put an arrow now we are up front...hehe

Several of you hear the sounds of someone in the mirrored room. You assume it is more kobolds!
I moved everyone back five feet so that neither group sees the other until initiative happens.
Blue moves to where they can see you, fires their crossbow at The Squire, and runs away! The shot was too hurried, it misses.

Ionic having had a chance to catch his breath at the top of the stairs sprints into the other room and gives a glance around. "We were trying to not kill these ones right?"
He hefts his axe in hand and takes a swing, with the massive flat of the head.

Flikk was in stealth mode.
Not kill them? That sounds no fun.. ok still some fun. Charrgeee! Flikk finally makes it out of his inner 'sneaking here' monologue. He moves around the corner and punches the orange thing square in the nose!
Unarmed: NL, Sneak Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 91d4 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 3 + (4) = 9
Or at least that's what happened in his head.
| GM Bret |
Red scampers away across the room, dodging from side to side as he moves. When he gets to the other side of the room, he raises his crossbow and shoots at Ionic but misses.
Crossbow: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Piercing damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2
I believe that The Squire gets an AoO for that movement.
Orange thinks that is a good plan as well, and does the same. If he had a bard inspiring him like your group does, he might have hit!
Crossbow: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Piercing damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1
Seeing them move, it seems they are really inspired to escape. They seem to move faster than normal.

Vandor Northwind

Vandor takes off running after the group and ends up next to The Squire who has a crossbow bolt sticking out of him.
With a kobld fighting The Squire, Vandor swing his mighty two handed sword at the little creature.
"Ha, tiny little dragon people, Vandor is here to meet your challenge!" He calls out to the kobolds.

The Squire misses slamming a Kobold as it runs past.
Vandor slashes into Blue with his sword. Evidently Blue is a tougher sort of Kobold, it is still standing.
Blue bravely runs away across the room, dodging back and forth as they move. Then they reload their crossbow.

OoC I'm totally expecting something terrible to happen here, but Ionic isn't that cautious and he can take a beating or two before dying so... CHARGE!
Ionic brandishes his axe and dagger, rushing forward past everyone into the next room. He sees the odd places on the ground but decides to ignore them and rushes ahead.
He skitters to a halt in front of orange and takes a swing that would make an MLB batter jealous.

Green decides those axes look scary. He reloads his sling and fires at Ionic. It misses.

After downing a foe, you menacingly remind another foe that you’re coming after them next. Attempt an Intimidation check with a +2 circumstance bonus to Demoralize a single creature that you can see and that can see you. If you have legendary proficiency in Intimidation, you can use this as a free action with the same trigger.
Intimidating Glare: Prerequisites trained in Intimidation. You can Demoralize with a mere glare. When you do, Demoralize loses the auditory trait and gains the visual trait, and you don’t take a penalty if the creature doesn’t understand your language.
Tuhdah

Tuhduh moves into the room with the funny tiles, avoiding any of the colorful tiles. He then continues to encourage his allies.
Move, Move, Inspire Courage

Tuhdah carefully moves into the room and continues to inspire everyone.
Black tries to attach itself to Ionic. It gets it on the second try.
Attach: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Then it begins sucking his blood out through its proboscis. Ionic feels a bit drained after this.

Is that a stirge/bloodsucker? I was not expecting to run into another of those in this mission!
Ionic for the most part ignores the things that have come out of the runes. That is until it decides to bother him. Feeling the familiar feeling of something burrowing into his skin he gives a very angry, very low growl. "****ing 'ell. E'ry mission have bloodsuckers? Had enough of dem last time! Arugh." His eyes narrow at the lizard people in front of him, the ones slashing at him and hurting him, the ones that cheered as the bug came out of the rune, the ones that knew this might happen. "You are dead."
He raises both his axe and dagger, and not holding back, takes two full force swings at the orange one, before following up with a third dagger slash.

Hunt prey on orange, Double slice and then a third strike. Ionic just finished the Mosquito Witch scenario, so having something suck his blood is a bit personal.

Vandor takes Red out of action with a single mighty swing of his sword.
Ionic hits with the axe and on the second stab with the clan knife. Orange is not liking this one bit!
His wound continues to bleed,
I can understand your character’s feelings if they just completed Mosquito Witch!
Looks like you forgot to add Insoire Courage to your damage. Adjusting now.
Green still shaken from Flikk’s glare tries to poke it’s spear into Vandor repeatedly! It hits twice!

Seeing how things are getting tight, Flikk will do some skill checks while the meat grinders go to work up front. How about recall knowledge (society +3) on just what it is we're fighting and intimidate on Orange. How about take cover behind his allies for the third.
