Watching the lizardman fall, Flikk just gives him the raspberry and moves a bit closer as the meat shield marches on.

Not much I can think to do with that one action. I'd try a medicine on the Dwarf but he was out of range. Stride.

Loohi hits and kills the last Kobold.

Ionic, since it was dead before your turn did you want to try the medicine check? Regardless we need a flat check for the bleeding.

Anyone trained in medicine who wants to help him stop the bleeding, go for it. Same if someone wants to use healing, but that doesn’t stop the bleeding unless you get him to full hit points.

Since he bleeds each round, we need to take it by the rounds, but go ahead and give two rounds of action in case the first round isn’t enough to stop the bleeding.

Medicine, Tr.: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Stop Bleeding - Attempt a Medicine check on a creature that is taking persistent bleed damage, giving them a chance to make another flat check to remove the persistent damage.
The DC is usually the DC of the effect that caused the bleed.

That is a successful medicine check. It will take effect immediately after Ionic’s turn.
Ionic may still want to do a medicine check of his own since he is the only one who can do it before the current turns bleed damage.

Bleed check is flat DC 15, flat DC 10 with a successful Medicine check.
By the way, it appears you can attempt the Medicine check to stop bleeding untrained. Not a good idea in most cases, but you can try.

The winding stairway spills out into a short hallway that leads to a receiving room. Once serving as a reception area for residents of the tower, the room now lies stripped of furnishing. To the north, another staircase leads further up into the tower. To the west, an expansive magical library, with books and scrolls stored on elevated shelves reaching up forty feet high, fills the remainder of the floor.

The room is well lit by the magical lamps fixed at regular intervals along the columns holding the bookcases and scroll shelves aloft. The pillars have some sort of runes on them under the accumulated dust.

It sounds like there is some misunderstanding about the library. It has three tiers. There isn’t much on the ground floor tier. You took the ladder up to the second tier. There is a floor going all the way around the room with an open center area. On the floor is where the bookshelves are. Third tier which hasn’t been looked at yet appears to be the same thing.

Ten minutes pass as Tuhdah sorts through books while Flikk goes up and down the ladder carrying books down to the ground floor.

Vandor gets impatient during that time and goes up to the second tier and then tries to climb a bookshelf there. He is able to break it and cause it to collapse.

He takes 2 points of damage.

Loohi, The Squire and Ionic patiently wait in the ground floor.

Seems Vandor in his impatience did cause something to happen. As Vandor is brushing himself off from vanquishing the bookshelf, an apparition floats down through the floor of what would be the third tier to where he, Tuhdah and Flikk are.

The apparition is a portly man in his middle years, with an oiled mustache, thinning hair slicked back and tied in a neat knot. He is dressed in attire that was the height of Chelaxian fashion almost seven hundred years ago, with a billowing silk shirt, polished silver breastplate, and black leather boots held together with an excessively complex series of ribbons.

I say,” he calls out to you, “quite the mess your fellow has made of that bookshelf. Surprised it wasn’t one of you chaps doing the destroying.” He points towards Flikk to indicate who he expected to be the culprit.

Be that as it may, don't suppose any of you fine people happen to have brought along a pot of tea and some decent leaves? It's been forever and a day since I've caught the scent of a decent cup.

Floating out over the edge and looking down, he says “Could even have it down there, don’t want to leave any of your party out!

Ionic gives a frown as Tuhdah pulls out a feather token and snaps it into a full ladder. The dwarf slowly puts his back into his pouch. Instead pulling out his dagger and axe giving both a cleaning and checking their edges.

Ionic's eyes widen as the ghost floats into the room, causing him to reach for the holy water on his belt, but he calms some as he sees that it isn't trying to kill anyone just yet. "See ya woke de dead!"

There's no way he could use the flask to boil water without wasting the holy water is there? It's part of his pathfinder training so it doesn't matter too much, but I'd love to save it if I can.

Ionic does some convoluted water transferring trying to get the holy water out of the flask and into his water skin and the water skin water into the flask without mixing the two. He then sets up a fire in the fireplace, setting the flask out to boil. As he cuts up some rose hips and blackberry leaves he looks at the supplies and then up at Vandor. "Ow, big fallin' lump. He gives a short cough and sort of mumbles “Not quite sure anymore. More than a century, less than a millennium. Tough to keep track of such things in my state.

Diggen just shrugs when told that your group can’t float.

When asked why he was stuck, he tells you “Made a deal and things went in an unexpected direction.

I'm a servant of the empire, you know; I was knighted for my efforts in quelling rebellion in these parts. The empire rewarded me with land on the far side of the country and a responsibility to guard this region.

Bit of a barbed deal that. How was I to feed and larder troops to protect a keep on the opposite side of the empire from my holdings? I wasn't, and that's the simple truth of the matter.

A devil, though? Hah! No food, no morale issues, and you don't need to worry about paying them until the job is well and truly done. How was I to know that agreeing to be bound to the beast until the empire's control of the region was reestablished and peace was returned was going to leave me stuck here for all eternity?

"Listen here, my friends: I have a bit of a proposition for you. I cannot leave this keep under my own power for as long as the devil is free upstairs, and he can’t be sealed back up in that throne of his by anyone other than me.

So here’s my proposal: I’ll seal myself up in one of your wayfinders or another magic item of your choice. You head on upstairs and confront that infernal bugger. Best him in combat, and when it seems he’s destroyed, he’ll be weak enough to bind.

What matters is that one of you place the item containing me against his throne and speak the proper words, which I will teach you. That’ll seal the bugger back up in his throne and put him at the service of the keep’s proper owner.

Once he’s sealed up, place both of your hands against the object you seal me in and speak the same phrase; I’ll be free to travel on to the afterlife I’ve earned with my service to the empire. Once I’m gone, you’ll be the keep’s proper owners, with your own bound devil to oversee the place.

What do you say?

He looks at each of you, eager for your answer.

Ionic and The Squire:
You don't think he is being entirely honest with you.

The first part about binding the devil seems correct, but there is something off about the second part. He is very eager for you to do it, but you think the results aren't exactly as he describes.

The idea of sealing away a devil is too much to handle for Loohi. He quickly pulls out his wayfinder and holds it forth to Diggen, "Will this do, Mr. Thrune? I'm not familiar with all this stuff, but, I wants to be."

Diggen smiles at Loohi, glad there is someone willing to do this for him.

"Right, it is agreed then!"

He pauses and looks to the rest of the group, to make sure there are no objections.

No no no... all that stuff about binding the Devil seems correct, but there is something off about the second part.
You're too eager for us to do it. I'm sure it won't turn out as you say it will.
Just like Master you are: "Hold the nail Squire, it won't hurt your fingers", well it drove the nail in but it didn't turn out as stated!"

Diggen frowns and looks at The Squire. “What are you ranting about? I can’t even eat meat any more!

I'm going to assume you've rolled Sense Motive for Flikk, in the event that you haven't please do. +5.

Flikk listens to all the mumbo jumbo about devils and binding and being the new owners of the keep, and all he can really lock on to is "So we'd be owners of this keep?!? Flikk never keep a keep before..."

This thought resonates repeatedly around in Flikk's oversized head, until he gets distracted by the talk of meat "Meat? Where's the meat? I'm still waiting for some tea drink!"

He does finally come around to his initial question "So what happened to the old Pathfinders? Did they try this trick for you too?"

And lays on the ground. just as he sees the apparition floats down. "I didn't think I fell that hard."

Listening to Diggen propsal. "I am not sure about a devil being bound to us, it sounds so unnatural."

Ionic uses the shield to hold the holy water for a while, while he uses the now empty flask to make tea. He pours a cup for Vandor first in apology for the failed healing attempt. He then calls over Diggen's ghost. "Oi, Drune! Ya wanted some tea ta smell. Didn't ya? Com'on and get over here den."

If Thrune comes over, Ionic pours a mug of herbal tea and starts talking in a low voice. "Know ya been here a long time. But I've lived a long time te. And I know when someone is lyin' ta me.
