A note on secret checks. When they are requested, please put you rolls in a spoilers and do not look at the results. I will then post the relevant formation in no particular order of success/failure. Or, if one is needed, I will go ahead and roll for you. I will let you know now, I will usually roll for group saves.

For those that haven't played or run it before, you might want to explain the rules of the mini-game since it's slightly counter-intuative. You'd think your job is to impress the faction leads (or all of the NPCs). I lament the lost good rolls aimed at non-targets. ::small tear::

I played this at the first day of Gencon and none of us, including the GM, knew what were doing. So, I really can’t remember very much of the plot of the scenario.

Don't want to step on ZD's toes, but we're a bit disjointed... We're going to meet each of the major faction leaders. Each one will have another NPC who hogs the leader's attention. We influence each leader by interacting with the NPC so the leaders have time to meet us. Each of gets one check vs. the interrupting NPC.

Yes, any of you can try to distract Zarta. I only picked on Masigonde because of Zarta's previous interactions in earlier scenarios with younger agents. If you manage to get her attention off of Calisro,you get a reward. However, you did not get a high enough result to learn what skills she favors.

This will happen for each of the faction leaders, as Masigonde says, and each of them will have another NPC, the ones you made checks to know about, who are trying to either distract them or annoy them.

The four major faction leaders will also be handing out task for you all to complete.

Questions about the scrolls

Magic Missile is arcane/occult so either I or Imiriax can use it, right?

Heal is divine/primal so Broch can use that, right?

Disrupting Weapon is only divine, and I'm not certain who, if anyone, can use it. Can Emdi, as a champion, use a divine scroll?

I am not sure champions count as a spellcasting class!

For the scrolls, I'm guessing Imiriax can take the magic missile. Broch will take the heal, and none of us can use the divine disrupting weapon scroll.

And Bubba should probably take the lesser silvertounge mutagen.

'Streetwise' is the feat you need to use Society to perform the Gather Information task.

Emdi's Performance modifier has changed. Someone introduced me to Pathbuilder, and I realized I missed a skill rank. Ironically, I accidentally did it right when I built the character (through two canceling mistakes), but then I caught one mistake a deleted the rank when I finished my first adventure.

Regarding Bubba's question: Fair question, I am not sure. I interpreted it as if everyone had to roll, but I can't find a rule that specifically says it's one way or the other. I guess our GM will decide.

It has been standard operating procedure that area of effect spells get one roll.

Also, if you want to use the 3-action heal this round, you'll have to use your prepared spell.

Ah, you are right, sorry. I'll edit to use my prepared spell slot. Will be sure to hold on the scroll next time!

Oh.. looks like I can't edit it anymore. If that's ok for the GM i'll keep the round and just mark the spell slot as used.

There's also the scroll staff, though that sadly appears to require you to actually scribe the spell yourself instead of putting a scroll on it. :/

Still getting my head around 2e system. It looks like Broch is trained in Medicine, thus he could take 10 minutes to Treat Wounds on Bubba, hopefully getting me back 2d8 hp. Is this correct?

If he bought or goes to buy a healer's kit, yes.

Treat wounds takes 10 minutes.
The target is bolstered vs. treat wounds for 60 minutes starting from the start of the attempt (so can get treated again 50 minutes after the attempt finishes).

Are champion could also patch us up, resting 10 minutes after each attempt to regain the spent focus.

Masigonde had to use 20 minutes of sitting around for his efforts (treat wounds attempt with Natural Medicine and refocus meditation).
