"Round 8"
The baron had taken some wounds from Scram and Maqan, though the last two swings of Amris took limbs off.
End of Combat! Unless you want to chase guards, otherwise loot and be on your way.
The grey elf runs down the wailing guard and does a flying kick into his back. It only stunned the guard though the guard begged for mercy putting up a full defense against the elf. The elf nodded and said, "drop your weapon and sit there!"
As the guard dropped the weapon the elf deftly snagged it with his foot and held it. Then continued down the hallway away from the guard and Saronis. He moved to the left so you can't see him any more.
'Scram' Ssslic the Weakling
Scram searches the bodies and the room we the rest do their thing.
GM Wolf
As you loot the bodies you find only a silver dagger and a black stone amulet on the mayor's body and his ruined clothes.
Then you find a coin purse on the caster/wench, a scroll case, and she seems to be still alive, even after the massive wound in her chest.
Looking around the room for value. You find an Emerald paper weight, two golden statues of naked succubi, 4 silver candlestick holders, a silver wash basin, and that is what you can see without searching any of the cabinets or shelves. On the walls are blood soaked paintings.
The room where the Baron was is now soaked in his blood.
Saronis deals with another psycho and then follows after the other elf. He still hasn't returned after 5 minutes. What do each of you do?
Amris Lazuli
He takes a seat and begins wiping blood from his face. He asks, "Anyone have some water to clean all this blood away?"
After a minute the fatigue is gone and gets up. By then Scram has likely grabbed most of the loot.
Then he helps searching the room for more loot.

Amris Lazuli
He pulls out his waterskin and pours out the water little by little to work on cleaning off, even going over and using the silver wash basin if it is still there. Though more water would be appreciated.
Urdrsk Stoneward
"Everyone okay back here?" Urdrsk questions from the door frame, tossing the halfing the dwarf's waterskin. "I dont like leaving Saronis alone with those elves. I'm gonna catch up with him." The fighter ducks back down the passage to find his elf teammate.
'Scram' Ssslic the Weakling
Scram picks up everything and screeches once while pointing at the woman!
Her eyes raised in question if she should aid the woman.
GM Wolf
The dwarf follows the elves down the hallway...
Vale looks down but nods his head, "We will need strong leadership for the change. As you well know all the other nobles lost their heads when He came into power."
Amris Lazuli
Amris looks up at the screech and nods his head in agreement.
'Scram' Ssslic the Weakling
She turns towards the woman and extends a hand out.

Urdrsk Stoneward
Vale looks down but nods his head, "We will need strong leadership for the change. As you well know all the other nobles lost their heads when He came into power."
"Don't fall into corruption and allow slavers back onto this city, and our team won't have to come back and take care of you!" Urdrsk grunts behind Saronis.

Scram considers the woman and the ties up up...
She waits for the others to come back and see if they want her awake.
Saronis
"These guards are willing to fight for justice and the betterment of this village. It is a start. What is the plan? Should we call forth the town? Vale here is willing to take a leadership position." He states blandly putting forth information for the group.
Amris Lazuli
"Well then, what about us moving into the mansion? Shall we begin clearing it out?" He offers as a suggestion.
Amris Lazuli
Amris stands up and looks mostly clean. He brings back Urdrsk's emtpy waterskin. Then picking up his greatsword follows ready to help.
GM Wolf
With the guards before you they are able to lead you to all the spots where guards should be stationed. Sure you could continue intimidating them or convince them otherwise...
I will need four checks from those wanting to help influence the guards into helping you.
Saronis' checks:
diplomacy: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2
He is able to convey the urgent matter of securing the mansion as they would be the new owners and that any new guards would be handsomely paid.
The guards are easily won over with a bump in pay.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (9) + 0 = 9
His words get mixed up.
With the help of the guards another two people may try to smooth things over before they begin to attack.

diplomacy: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (7) + 0 = 7
He keeps to the original version of his story.
The guards are hesitant but easily won over with a bump in pay.
Saronis
"Let us stick together, and with the guards ahead of us they can smooth out any problems we encounter." Saronis offers.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (19) + 0 = 19

Urdrsk Stoneward
Urdrsk groans behind the tongue-tied elf, then barks down the hall, "Maqan! Saronis needs your help! Get over here!"
'Scram' Ssslic the Weakling
Meanwhile, Scram studies the woman's features................
a cricket chirps somewhere in the room where they're in.
Amris Lazuli
He steps forward and tries to rememdy the situation with his words... well he tries and doesn't make it better.

Maqan makes her presence known as she suggests that the guards help rather than hinder. Smoothing things over after the others failed.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Now you have a dozen guards who are willing to protect you and the citizens of the village. What are your orders for them? Once orders are given one of them suggests, "Perhaps if you find the captain of the guard, you could get the rest of the guards on our side? He can be found at the Boar's Roast most likely or the jail."
Saronis
"Good information we will go look for this captain of the guard, what was his name again? For now I want two of you positioned here and the others on patrol. We are looking to clean this town of banditry and villains." Saronis states as he takes charge. "Vale, do you have any suggestions?"
GM Wolf
The guard offers up the captains name, "Dowersly, Avery Dowersly. He should have the blue colors upon to mark his station or if those are missing look for his silvery slippers, a magical choice of his."
Upon the front steps of the mansion most of the guards disembark in groups of four, leaving two stationed at the mansion. Vale joins one of the groups, one of the groups hangs back and one of them offers, "You want us to take you to the Boar's Roast or the jail to find the captain?"
Urdrsk Stoneward
Urdrsk gives the guard an 'I-don't-believe-you-look' when silver slippers are mentioned. "Avery Dowersly. Got it." The dwarf takes a pause. "Okay. let's find this fro'-fro' man at the jail."
Saronis
Saronis nods as he states, "Sure an escort and introduction to 'your' captain would likely do better than us just approaching him."
GM Wolf
The last four guards which all seem a bit young guide you through town to the Boar's Roast. It seems to be a decent sized tavern. Entering in you can see there are plenty of private booths, stairs and multiple ways to leave the tavern. One of the guards go to the bartender and finds out where the captain is located. He then comes back and says, "Okay the captain is upstairs in his private room tending to a hangover. Its not the best circumstances or we could just take a meal and wait for the captain to emerge on his own?"
Urdrsk Stoneward
Urdrsk looks up at Saronis. "I don't know. He need him to get the other guards to back that Vale guy, but would disturbing his hangover make things worse?"
The dwarf looks to the others. "What do you guys think? Kat?"
Saronis
"Can your captain read? Good, then I can make a note and slip it under the door. Any suggestions of what to say?" He offers trying to come up with options.
'Scram' Ssslic the Weakling
As she is summoned she transforms from her faerie form into her human body. "Disturbing a hangover without a remedy may not get the results you are looking for. Scram do you have anything for a hangover?" She looks over at Scram as she says the words and pantomimes it the best she can.
Scram looks confused. It's obvious that she's never heard or seen what's a hangover like.
She shakes her head in the negative.
Saronis
With no input from anyone he says what he will write out loud before writing it, "We are interested parties with some of your guards in the common room. When you have a chance please come have a talk with us."
Saronis
With the words written after confirmation, Saronis would deposit the letter under the room with the guards help.
Urdrsk Stoneward
After the the butt-kicking the group received and gave, Urdrsk is inclined to hang out in the tavern. Sadly, the dwarf doesn't have two coins to rub together, so he just sits and massages aching muscles.
GM Wolf
The flamboyant blue feathered captain walks over to your table and offers the note, "I wonder if you are the interested party that left me this note?"
The most outspoken guard offers, "Yes sir. We came with them from the mansion. The baron is no more, justice is coming back to town! These fine heroes spearheaded the whole operation. We thought it would be best to work with them rather than have us get killed."
The captain nods and looks at your group, "So are you sticking around or stirring up trouble and leaving it in my yard?"
Saronis
Saronis looks to his companions and then back to the captain. Emphasizing this words, "We don't intend to 'leave' until all of the 'rats' are out of the barrel."
sense motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
"Speaking of rats, how good of relations were you with the baron?" He says as his hand is upon his sword's hilt now.
Urdrsk Stoneward
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
"We're not gonna leave you in a lurch, if that what you mean? We have affairs elsewhere, but we'll stay to clean up this town."
'Scram' Ssslic the Weakling
Scram feels the man is dodgy and screeches with a single hand outstretched.
Detect Evil.
GM Wolf
The captain simply offers, "The baron paid me well to do my job and keep the peace. Now that he is gone I must look towards the town and my guards will have to protect the commoners."
bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Saronis
sense motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
He doesn't draw his blade but something about what the captain doesn't sit well with him but he can't place it.
"So you will work with us and protect the town from the bandits? They need to be excised." He says in ernest.
Urdrsk Stoneward
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
"Wait? Did you say you didn't protect the commoners before?" Urdrsk asks, trying to understand the statement.
