GM Ietsuna |
It is stone and would be difficult to smash through. You could spend a few days/weeks chipping out mortar and taking rocks out, maybe.
Relgar |
Where are the hinges of the door? Are they accessible?
GM Ietsuna |
The hinges are hidden and you cannot access them.
Relgar |
Relgar looks at his companions.
"Perhaps if Jezebel were to lend Agni her Warhammer he can break down the door?"
Stone only has a hardness of 8 and a sledge type weapon would be the right sort of tool to break it down. 1d8+6 should eventually break down the door after several minutes of smashing.
Edit- A thought has occurred to me that there might be a key available to open the door. However smashing it down just seems more in this party's style. :)
Relgar |
Relgar looks back at the lizard-man shaking his head.
"Do locks burn? No. Does stone burn? No. But I did solve the problem."
GM Ietsuna |
Ok, sure. You wanna bash the door down, have at it.
Relgar |
Relgar looks around.
"Come on guys. There is loot behind that door. Take it down."
Relgar |
Ok GM she has a point. Jezebel or Agni can smash through the door in a few minutes. What do we see?
GM Ietsuna |
A living, moving cloud seems to float around this half-collapsed chamber, which stretches northwest into darkness. The pungent smell of ammonia rises from the droppings that litter the floor.
A swarm of bats, obviously disturbed by the smashing of the door, flaps about here.
Relgar |
Relgar looks to see if the swarm is moving their way. He also scans the room for any items of note.
Should we be rolling for initiative or only if we approach?
GM Ietsuna |
The bats have no reason to come attack you. As written they would fall on you for disturbing them after you entered the room, but someone knocked on the door with a big hammer and so they are awake and active but not aggressive toward you at this stage.
Relgar |
With no immediate threat Relgar and frog companion will look for a reason (meaning treasure) to enter the room.
Take 20 on Perception check. 26 and 29 respectively.
"No need to attack the bats for no reason."
GM Ietsuna |
Relgar spots a glass potion bottle among the rubble on the floor. Picking it up the contents swirls.
Relgar |
Are there any other rooms to explore here? I do not remember.
Relgar backs up with the potion bottle and casts a quick detect magic to determine if it is actually magical.
GM Ietsuna |
Cure Light Wounds. And no, that is all of this level
Relgar |
I meant more generally have we skipped any rooms from the other levels that are obvious? We cannot be done already. Can we?
GM Ietsuna |
You hit all the rooms on this and lower levels. There were still stairs going upward in the central tower.
Relgar |
Relgar looks at the others.
"Time to go up the stairs. Let us clear out this place."
With those words his frog familiar blends right back into his skin.
Relgar |
Relgar looks to his companions.
"Do not get sleepy on me yet. We have some exploring yet to do"
Relgar will lead the party up the stairs.
GM Ietsuna |
Ok, I have Heroki here and Relgar obviously. Jezebel has posted in the last week and that is fine. Has anyone seen or heard from Agni or Mbende?
Relgar |
The combats have not been very challenging so far so how about we continue with who we have? We must be pretty close to completion as we have had quite a few encounters already.
GM Ietsuna |
Relgar leads the way up the stairs to the fourth level of the tower. Finding the door to this level unlocked.
Relgar |
Relgar opens the door.
GM Ietsuna |

GM Ietsuna |
Roll: 6d10 ⇒ (1, 9, 1, 2, 2, 1) = 16
Between them there are 16 Silver pieces in the pockets of the troglodytes. There is nothing much else of interest that Relgar can see in this room.
Relgar |
Relgar leads the party into the southern room (10).
"Time to go."
As he says that his familiar vanishes back into tattoo form.
GM Ietsuna |
A brazier of glowing coals sits in the center of this room, its acrid smoke mixing with the ever-present troglodyte stench. A few knives, pokers, and other metal implements lie atop a rusty iron box nearby.
Inside this room also stands a huge troglodyte. It is bigger than any that you have seen thus far. Muscles bugle on its arms and legs. As the door opens its eyes swivel toward the entering intruder.

Relgar |
Relgar watches as Jezebel speeds past him.
Fortitude: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
While not able to act yet he knows that he does not feel right.
"I am going to be sick. Just give me a moment for it to past."
Heroki Nagato |
Fortitude: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Scraping the troglodyte guts off his sword with his pants Heroki hurried to catch up
Upon seeing the giant troglodyte Heroki raises his sword and says
”Wooo mama, That’s a big....”
GM Ietsuna |
Jezebel swings her sword and it scrapes down the armoured flesh of the hulking troglodyte.

GM Ietsuna |
Jezebel drops the troglodyte where it stands.
