"Dead already? Spiders do tend to burn so well and their webs..."
Relgar sighs.
"Time to move on. I guess but maybe we should have a quick look around first?"
His tattoo glows and his familiar appears.
They both look around.

"I'll try to save the next one for you, gnome friend," Agni says to Relgar with a wink. He assists in helping with the search...

...before continuing through the only available doorway.

GM Ietsuna |

Looking around you find a small cocoon hanging in the webs. Inside you find the remains of an unfortunate dog that fell into the spider’s clutches. The desiccated carcass is still wearing its leather collar, which is studded with lapis lazuli stones and has a silver tag reading Kita
Moving through into the west wing you find this chamber mostly choked with rubble. There is a door to the east though into the central column of the fortress.

![]() |

Relgar (and familiar) look around. Relgar's familiar then transforms back into a tattoo.

Relgar looks around to see if everyone is still awake.
"Perhaps we should go to the East through the door?"

![]() |

”This eastern door will take us to the tower’s central staircase yes?” Agni moves to the door and kicks it open. While preparing to move deeper in the castle, he thinks to himself that Kita isn’t a particularly common name for a dog, and tries to remember if he’s heard it lately.
Knowledge Local: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
With a shrug he moves on and advances through the door.

GM Ietsuna |

Agni kicks the door and rebounds off as the door seems to be stuck solid.

![]() |

Relgar grins.
"Are you sure that the door is not just stuck? But your back into it big guy."

![]() |

Agni returns the gnome's grin. "My favorite method of picking locks." With a grunt he kicks the door, digging his heel down and driving his body forward. Then he kicks again, and once more.

GM Ietsuna |

The door does not give. There must be a massive amount of fallen stone stopping it moving. You may have to scale the outside of the fortress to access the next level.

![]() |

"Alright, outside everyone. We have a fortress to climb."

![]() |

Climb (shield stowed), take 10: 10 + 5 = 15 That ought to do it.
When the others come outside, they find a length of silk rope already hanging down from above that was not there before.
"What kept you?" Calls a smoky voice from above. "I suppose you think every half-disemboweled tower out there maintains a usable staircase?"

![]() |

Agni looks up at the woman with a crooked smile as he grabs the offered rope, remarking "Where there is smoke, fire must follow." Agni plants his foot firmly against the wall...
Climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16
...and begins scaling the wall of the ruined fortress, climbing his way to the second story and joining Jezebel.

GM Ietsuna |

Jezebel scales the outside of the tower with little trouble. Once there she secures a rope and drops it down to assist the others in the party.
I have put the second level map up on the slides and moved the party up there. I will hand wave the climb checks to get up there because it is a fairly easy climb with the rope.
Doors lead off to the south west and north west from the platform that you climbed up to.

![]() |

"How about starting with the door to the South West first?"

![]() |

![]() |

Relgar's eyes sparkle.
"Who knows? It might be hiding behind the next door. You are making me hungry."

![]() |

Knowledge Local: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 Apparently Agni is very familiar with Jezebel!
Agni wasn't one for the nightlife—he was ugly as a goblin with the personality to match—but even he was familiar with Jezebel Gemblade. He had seen her advertised via flyers and her reputation was well known, but Agni had only ever seen her perform from outside the barrier of a tavern window. It was a level of professionalism that kept him from fawning over her pseudo-celebrity status while on an official Pathfinder outing.
Joining the others in their efforts to advance forward, Agni chuckles at the banter between Relgar and Heroki as he makes his way to the southwestern door and attempts to push deeper. Should that door be locked or otherwise stuck, he'll make his way to the northwestern door and try that passage instead.
Edit: The first time I tried to post it rolled a nat 20. Lame!

GM Ietsuna |

The party move to the south west door, open it and move inside.
Racks for weapons line the walls of this chamber; above the racks hang various shields, pieces of armor, weapons, and standards on display. Most of the racks are empty, but a few weapons remain in place. A horrible stench fills the room as well, akin to the smell of rotten eggs mixed with the reek of an open sewer.
Inside stand two humanoids. They are dull grey and scaly with long tails and crests on their heads and backs. As you enter they grip their clubs tighter.

There's that nat 20! Any useful information Agni may know?
"Be careful friends, these are troglodytes," Agni remarks with a sense of calm. He clearly wasn't feeling too threatened. "They're feral cave dwellers known for raiding settlements, but soon they shall be nothing but corpses."
When the second (blue) troglodyte swings at Agni, he deflects the blow with his shield and returns fire with an attack of his own.

WAIT. He's dazed this round; that attack he just made should be saved for next round...if there is one.
I rather doubt Agni managed to trip him with that.
