I'm guessing this didn't happen. And it looks like we have a map. Which one's the 'familiar old tree'? Are we supposed to be making those knowledge (nature)/survival checks every turn? If so, do they take any sort of time/action to accomplish? Speaking of 'accomplish', anyone remember what were we trying to do again? Whatever it is, Faeria is totally down for whatever. Mostly. ;)

Ok, First of all I assume you are referring to the placement of illusory trees? The trees did not stop the hunt pursuing you and they found an alternate route to you. Red has an ability that allows it to see through trees. I know your illusion is not a tree, and so Red was suspicious of it and followed another route to pick up your trail.
The old tree referred to is the copse of trees at the center of the map.
The knowledge/survival checks are to know how the changing features of this fey place will impact you.
