Angela does some incidental damage with a splash of alchemist's fire. indirect attack - sneaky hobbitses :)
Gronkh pulls on Horace's reins - the warhorse rears up and then ploughs over the bonfire, moving so quickly that he avoids getting burned. Gronkh is not so fortunate as Horace's hooves kick up a burning log, and the flames sear the cavalier.
fire damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
but the bold manoeuvre brings the cloudy cleric within Gronkh's lance reach, and he thrusts at the retreating villain.
concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 62
The lance pierces the gaseous mayor, and the vapours do not reform. Instead, the partially discorporated foe merely floats in place, immobile. For a second. Then, the strangest thing happens. The cloudy form convulses, as though wracked by an internal storm. The vapours swirl and churn chaotically...
The cultists lift their arms to the sky and importune their deity: "Dream Tender, deliver us!" "Gossamer King, hear our prayers!"

There are no active hostiles currently Jeskit. You can attack the cultists if you want - they might fight back though :p
Angela Isafira

Angela, afraid that the group hasn't done a thing to finished this, decides to step up to the woman tied to the post and free her, shouting over her shoulder as well. "Jeskit, Gronkh, SOMEONE get the mayor out of that ring he might either be a link in the chain or possibly the new sacrifice either way we haven't done a thing to stop them yet. I will see if I can't get Masha free."
She then tries to get the original sacrifice off the table and pull her as far away as the small and admittedly very weak halfling can.
Golthwur Strath

Unable to get out of striking distance of the cultists, Golthwur activates his scroll of hypnotism , then clenches his teeth and tries to steel his resolve.

Jeskit beats at the fire - but it is all that he can do to keep from catching fire again himself.
Golthwur draws a scroll and begins a long incantation, nervously glancing at the wailing cultists beside him.
Angela attempts to free Masha. Angela you can attempt one of the following checks or actions: DC22 STR check to break the rope ties, a sunder attempt with a slashing weapon, or a DC20 disable device check to undo the knots; the disable device check will take 1d4 rounds, the other checks are a standard action.

Hmm, Byron expected the Mayor to continue moving. Can I see that he's unconscious there through the corn and the press of bodies? If I can, I'd move back to help Angela free the victim. If I can't, I'd assume he is still escaping and will run around the corn, looking to cast magic missile on the fleeing Kriegler
Angela Isafira

Angela can't do the first two options, sooo, diable device it is!
The halfling starts looking over the ropes on the woman and frowns, she calls out to Byron, "Byron get over here and help me with Masha. I think the mayor is down for the count right now and I need to get this woman untied and outta here. You have a dagger or something to cut with? I'll try helping to guide your hands."
Can Angela aid another with an unarmed strike? or does she have to step back and use her spear?

Byron, that'll be a Perception check. I'll make the roll to keep us moving. DC23 when adjusted for distance.
perception, Byron: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Unable to see or hear the mayor through all the cornstalks and the praying cultists, Byron tries to outflank the misty miscreant. Following the path around the maze, Byron fails to locate the mayor. Then he hears Angela calling for help.
Angela, your post is a tad confusing. You say ooc that you'll attempt Disable Device, then you roll an Aid Another attack roll and ic call for help? Since Byron isn't there to help just now, I'm going to bot your Disable Device roll. I'll 5' step you so that you can work on the knots.

Angela struggles with the bindings, and calls for help.
"Stop!" cries Masha, suddenly aware."I must go to the Dream Tender! You must let me! It's the only way to save my people!"
Then, the mayor's eerie thrashing intensifies. In a moment of intense and grotesque violence, he solidifies again and then bursts open in a shower of gore. bug vs Golthwur: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 5) + 7 = 13
Golthwur suffers a grievous injury, and the monster's proboscis remains embedded in the old man. Golthwur is dragged towards the creature, but faced with so many foes it withdraws its stinger and waves it menacingly at you. It grappled Golthwur (attach ability) but then released him.
The monster emits a weird droning sound. Its wings are slick with blood from its birth, but it beats them vigorously to shake the liquid off.

Sorry about that, realized as I was starting to write the post that I could try calling for help. Disable device would have been her course of action if Byron had already moved or wasn't coming to help. Thanks for rolling for her!

Angela recoils in horror. "It's a Blightspawn of Ghlaunder. Ugh that thing had to have been in the mayor for years if not decades." She looks down at Masha and then up at the creature and down again. "You don't have one of those in you do you? Ugh never mind, focus Angela, focus!"
A bit unsure of what Angela should prioritize here, should she focus on the nasty creature or keep untying Masha. Can I roll an int check to see if there's some insight she can glean from everything?
Int check?: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 Should have known... buhhh, fight the thing I guess?
Angela gives a groan at Jeskit using a weapon that clearly won't do a thing to help, and prods the big man in the leg. "Take my longspear. It's magical, though tiny for your hands, but that's not important, you can actually hurt it with this! Also, get your weapon enchanted for Abadar's sake!"
| GM supervillan |
A note of caution for Angela and Jeskit. Angela's spear is Small, Jeskit is Large, and that means a -4 penalty to hit. It also means that the spear, although it retains reach, counts as a light weapon for Jeskit and will only apply 1x his STR modifier to damage. He may well be more effective with his sansetsukon.
Gronkh is up!
