The gnome then turns away and rushes to the west. He takes out his sling and gets it ready.

Both scoring a solid hit, they bounce from foot to foot in joy and high=five each other quickly before turning back to the long shanks and taking on menacing faces. They then step back to be nearer to their leader as it shouts in pain from Toot's blow. 5 foot step.

@Aventail, Raz, and Dol. As you round the fountain, you notice another goblin in the waters. It's hands and pockets seem to be full of as many of the coppers and silvers that the townsfolk have tossed into this fountain over the years. It has drowned in its greed but is weighed down by the coins.

@Loth and Mizzug. You hear a loud yell and the thumping of small feet from behind and above you. As you turn your heads to look, a goblin leaps from the roof with its sword drawn to attack you. It falls short and face plants into the cobblestones, dying instantly.

Another 4 damage to Mizzug, and 5 to Loth this time. Good thing you guys have a cleric....... for now.......

Raz moves up and bathes the area in flame, scorching the stones and flesh alike. Toot chomps down on the singing goblin, his over developed teeth ripping flesh and muscle from bone and killing this goblin instantly. Loth studies the fight, hoping to find an opening that looks safe. Mizzug swings with all of her might, and misses in a truly spectacular fashion (bad luck with rolls so far for Mizzug). Aventail joins the fray, lending her intimidating frame to the job at hand, as Dol moves up to do the same.

---Aventail, BOT---
Aventail sees how hard Mizzug swings and thinks that if she could ever make contact that those swings would really hurt. So Aventail moves to off some support in that regard. (Double move to flanking.)

---Goblins, normal---
Normally goblins like fire, they are fascinated by it, enraptured. But this time it just really hurts. Burnt and bleeding, these two little ankle-biters are on their last legs. But only one seems to realize that fact.

Aventail AoO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Glaive-Guisarme Damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Aventail chops his head from his shoulders. As his body falls to the ground, another goblin runs in the from the north. It is carrying a barrel of some sort that rattles as he charges, a fuse burning at the top. After only making it about 5 feet into the square, the fuse burns down, and the barrel explodes, sending fire works and bits of goblin all over the ground, the walls, and the fountain.

From back where you all came from, another goblin breaks out of a house holding a jar of pickles. It sees your group, screams, clutches the pickles tight, and runs off into town, trying to eat a pickle as it does so.

---THE DOG---

Bumbo,:
From behind you the dog growls in fear and anger. If you look back at it, you see its head turning back and forth. As though it senses something (probably goblins) coming. More of them, from somewhere.

END OF THE ROUND SUMMARY:
Toot kills the goblin bard.
Raz does damage with burning hands.
Blue Goblin tries to attack, misses.
Red goblin tries to run, Aventail kills it with AoO.
Raz and Loth are dazzled, as is the goblin.

If this combat ends in this round (before I post again), you all will have one full round of actions before we move along with the plot/attack. So don't be leaving the square.

I'll say this. I can be a reeeeeeaaalll jerk sometimes. Like Jerk McJerkface, Mayor of Jerktown. But out of combat, low level, we can say that you guys finished off any renaming goblins. I haven't been rolling stabilization checks for them, and two of them went straight from conscious to negative dead. So, one round of actions each.

Loth moves, still has a standard.
Dol channels, still has a move.
Everyone else still has their full round of actions.

@Bumbo: The dog swivels its head back and forth, growling and showing its teeth.

@Everyone: You can still hear the sounds of screaming and fighting in town, but the square you're in as fallen silent for the moment. The loudest sound is the heavy breathing from all of you as you take a few seconds to catch your breath. Taking place after your one round of actions. This is interrupted by the squeal of the gate and a shaky voice calling out from the other side of the fence.
Hello?.......Are all the goblins dead now?

As the party is healed, Dol looks around to assess everyone's health. Noting the Mizzug is still wounded, he draws closer to call on more of Torag's divine favor.

In the meantime, he suggests. "Someone should check the bard's possessions. He might have something useful."

In the back of his mind, there is a nagging sensation that something about the actions of these goblins doesn't seem quite right. Focused on the immediate needs of the team, though, the thought remains in the background.

In response to the citizen's query, Dol calls out "Yes, these goblins are dead, but there are more in the city. The path to the cathedral should be safe. If you have children, you should move them there for safety.

Otherwise, you should grab a weapon and rise to the defense of your city. Other families may be in danger."

@Bumbo: This is what you find on the goblin warchanter (bard). All the gear is small sized. Potion of cure light wounds, studded leather armor, dogslicer, shortbow with 20 arrows, whip, 20 gp. I'll say that you can acquire one item before the bottom stuff happens.

@Everyone: As the gate swings open, you get your first (soon to be abbreviated) look at the person behind it. A human man, handsome, with fine clothing. Those clothes are rumpled, and the right sleeve is torn and blood soaked. An empty dagger sheath is evident on his belt, and the rapier he holds in his hand is broken only a few inches above the guard. This man has obviously not had a good time in this fight.

Oh thank you. Thank you all. So much. A weapon? Yes. I could use a new one. As he steps towards Mizzug, his steps falter and he falls to one knee, obviously weakened by the blood loss he has taken.

As you all watch him, the moan of pain from his lips is covered over quickly by the yapping of some vile canine type creature as it enters the square....being ridden by a goblin. It stops the dead sprint is was in, the rider obviously hesitant to take on so many armed individuals by itself. Luckily for it, his entourage quickly arrives, and another raiding party enters the square from the "top". All spot these hated longshanks doing something so vile and offensive as daring to still be alive and breathing. This cannot stand, so they charge to the attack. Luckily, so many of you are on a heightened state of awareness, what with all the combat going on around you, that no one is caught off guard. (For this fight, no one will be Flat-Footed. You all know that this was a high possibility, and the goblins are actively looking for a fight.)

The "dog" charges across the battlefield, streaking towards Aventail and right past Raz (provoking an attack of opportunity).
Raz AoO: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

The goblin dog leaps for Aventails throat type area. It makes full contact...with all the metal it possibly could.
Goblin Dog charge attack: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 = 5
Or so it would have appeared, but a second look shows the dog impaled on the end of Aventail's weapon. The damage done by Raz's battle axe not comparing to the instant death of Aventail's glaive finding this "dog's" vital organs. All of them. At the same time.

---Goblins, regular---
The "southern" goblins (red, green, and blue) all run forward, waving their swords in the air. Double move for them.
The "northern" goblins (yellow, pink, and purple) run at Raz and swing their swords. Pink and purple take a charge action. Yellow single moves and attacks.

Puprle Goblin charge: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 + 2 = 13
Pink Goblin charge: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 2 = 12
Yellow Goblin charge: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Short sword damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1

Two of the goblins miss, stamping their feet and yelling in frustration. The one manages a good hit, not caring that his blade barely drew blood. The goblin that hits points at the (barely there) blood on his sword and laughs at the other two.

-Goblin, Special---
The mounted goblin rides up behind his newest meat shields, drawing an arrow for his bow as he does. Taking aim, he fires at Dol. The arrow (seeming to surprise even the goblins) flies true and sticks into Dol's arm, digging into his flesh.
Mounted Goblin attack: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 5 - 4 = 21
Arrow damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

Mounted Goblin crit confirmation: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 5 - 4 = 12

Forgot that Aventail would have also gotten an AoO on the goblin dog since she uses a reach weapon.
Aventail AoO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Aventail's Damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Adding onto the text above. Probably won't make sense when you first read it, but I don't want to have to retype everything.

DC 15 Reflex Partial:

This spell causes tall grass, weeds, and other plants to wrap around creatures in the area of effect or those that enter the area. Creatures that fail their save gain the entangled condition. Creatures that make their save can move as normal, but those that remain in the area must save again at the end of your turn. Creatures that move into the area must save immediately. Those that fail must end their movement and gain the entangled condition. Entangled creatures can attempt to break free as a move action, making a Strength or Escape Artist check. The DC for this check is equal to the DC of the spell. The entire area of effect is considered difficult terrain while the effect lasts.

If the plants in the area are covered in thorns, those in the area take 1 point of damage each time they fail a save against the entangle or fail a check made to break free. Other effects, depending on the local plants, might be possible at GM discretion.

SO! Here's a fun little twist. In my character creation, I gave Loth a bow. I may have... neglected to give him arrows. As such my plan on using the bow has hit something of a snag.

I would like to call upon the GMs benevolence to retroactively allow the purchase of a quiver of arrows. Rather than await however, I will set out both paths here.

Loth is forgiven and granted arrows:

Loth grabs the bow he was itching to get, an arrow, and immediately responds to the goblin threat by shooting one of them. (Blue)

Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Loth pays for his negligence:

Loth reaches for his bow, until he realizes he's currently without arrows. "Gods be damned," he mutters, and grabs his dagger again.

@Bumbo: Do me a favor when you cast spells like that. Go ahead and tell me what your save DC is so I don't have to look up your stats and feats. Please. I believe this one is a DC 15

---Goblins, Regular---
Alright, this is going to get complicated for the southern goblins.

Blue goblin is in the grease and the entanglement, but managed to avoid falling prone or being entangled.
Blue Goblin Acorbatics check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Managing to keep his feet under him, he begins his move to get out of all this terrible stuff. He spends a full turn double moving because of all the double difficult terrain stuff going on.

Unable to even stand up, both the green and red goblins must first try to break free of the vines wrapping around them.
Red Goblin Escape Artist: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Green Goblin Escape Artist: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Green is stuck where he is, unable to move and tries again. And fails again.
Green Goblin Escape Artist: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Red goblin, however, manages to wriggle free of the vines and stands up. At the end of his turn, he makes another save versus the condition. And he is entangled again.
Red Goblin Reflex Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Pink and purple goblins see a better chance at winning since the big metal thing is staying further back. They move into flanking (one preparing an action for the other) before swinging in on Toot.
Pink makes a 5 foot step south and swings his sword. He cuts Toot along his flank. Unlike many of the other goblins, this one doesn't caper or jeer. It simply grins a malicious grin and seems to savor the blood drawn in a particularly sadistic fashion.
Pink Goblin Sword: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 2 = 17
Short Sword Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

Purple follows suit. Accidently snapping it's blade against the cobblestones, this sword snaps off (and gains the broken condition).
Purple Goblin Sword: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 = 5

---Goblin, Speical---
Blessing his mount (in between cursing it), this goblin rears around and heads out of the entanglement. He then turns his body to fire another arrow, this time straight at Bumbo. Or it would have been straight at Bumbo if it wasn't for the fact that the arrow goes no where near Bumbo. It actually hits another goblin the next street over, killing it instantly.
Goblin Bow attack: 1d20 + 5 - 4 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 5 - 4 - 2 = 2

---"The Fop"---
After the holy energies wash over him, closing his wound and restoring some vitality, this unknown man stands to his feat and looks around. His skin flushes pale as he sees the many goblins moving in around him. He takes a half step back, his hands patting around his boots and belt.
Um, not to be so rude as to interrupt, but do any of you happen to have a spare blade I could borrow? He hefts the busted rapier in his hand. I very much doubt that this will do me much good in its present condition. Obviously mostly addressing Aventail and Dol, he makes a prepared action to take a weapon if it is proffered.

---The Dog---
It runs up behind/beside Bumbo and begins barking furiously at the goblins. (It was healed to and is feeling ready to fight.)

Good job locking down the southern goblins guys. Those two spells are going to pretty much neutralize that crew for a while. Smart tactics.

Both the pink and purple goblins are down and out, due to the combined efforts of Toot and Raz. The southern goblins are not fairing well, but are relatively unharmed so far. Just very, very inconvenienced.
@Dol, had to look around on your sheet for a bit. I saw your post and thought [i]He must mean "shield of faith". But that only grants a +2. Does he have some way of getting actual "shield"? Lo and behold, he does. Very cool option I didn't know existed.

---Goblins, regular---
We'll start with blue, I guess.
Blue Goblin Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16
Shaking off the affects of Bumbo's spell, it slinks along the hedge before moving over in front of Loth to stab at him. Maybe because he is considering retreat, his attack is half-hearted and, as such, misses.
Blue Goblin Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

Green Goblin Escape Artist: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 - 2 = 4
Red Goblin Escape Artist: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 - 2 = 11
Green Goblin Escape Artist: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 - 2 = 15
Red Goblin Escape Artist: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 - 2 = 17

You can also see both the Red and Green goblins struggling against the vines. Both of them fail to wriggle free at first, but manage it on their second attempt. Sadly, that is 2 move actions and thus they are stuck to become automatically entangled again this turn. Sucks to be them, I guess.

---Goblin, Special---
Not having to move, this goblin bares its over-sized teeth as it draws and sights on Bumbo, hoping an obvious spell caster will serve as an easier target.
Goblin Bow Attack: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 5 - 2 = 23
Arrow damage on Bumbo: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Goblin Bow Attack crit confirmation: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 5 - 2 = 10
The arrow flies true, scoring along Bumbo's side and leaving a trail of blood along his skin. The mounted goblin points and laughs at Bubmo, feeling unusually secure behind all the entangling plants.

---Dog, The---
The dog turns its head towards the Blue Goblin, it's teeth bared, and lunges forward to attack. It's bark rings through the square as it leaps for the goblin's throat... missing as the goblin rears back in fear and surprise.
Dog Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

---"The Fop"---
Yes, a dagger would be grand..... He trails off as Loth runs away from him. His attention is then quickly grabbed by the sounds of Aventail's two weapons hitting the cobblestones next to him. Um...thanks. He quickly considers the weapons before picking up the mace (move action) and then moving to join the fray to the south (move action).

Good job on the combat so far, but it is far from over. Many enemies still on the field and the mounted goblin can be particularly difficult to pin down.
