I have also set up a Discord channel (sfs-pbpgd-table1) so that we can have time-sensitive discussions (not having to wait until someone checks the boards to answer a question). It isn't mandatory, but Hmm's games have really shown me the utility of having some form of discussion and question answering mechanism outside of the delayed board responses.

That should be fine! I will note now that I do work night shift (6p-6:30a CST) and generally try to keep to that same schedule when I'm not working so you'll see more nighttime posts from me than daytime.

The Commencement! Mainly because it's the only one she's played thus far but also because I enjoyed the wide variety of tasks that a group gets to tackle.

Heya, Bigrin. I'm also playing Gletch over in your Pursuit of the Scoured Stars game that is (I presume) wrapping up. Looking forward to playing with you again.
So I have a question about playing Flenn in this game. I had previously played him in a PbP game that finished up right before Gen Con, but the GM has gone AWOL since Gen Con. We've tried PMs, and messages on the board, and no contact. Hope everything's okay ... but it means I don't have the chronicle sheet from that game. I've been holding off getting set up here until I had the sheet, could complete purchases, etc ... but not sure how to proceed if I don't have the chronicle for the earlier game. Should I basically just ignore that chronicle if I don't have it by then? Would you prefer me to play a different character? Should I just proxy it until I get an official signed copy? (I am a subscriber, so can find the rewards and such.)
There are ways to get a replacement Chronicle quickly, so you shouldn't have a problem. I'm a fairly trusting GM, and I wouldn't care normally, but since this is an official event, please try and get that replacement in. Contact Tyranius and explain your situation and see if he can get you the sheet. In the meantime, I don't have a problem if you apply the XP, Reputation, and Wealth just as if you had the sheet in hand already. If you don't have those numbers to hand, let me know and I'll send them to you.
BTW, the game we just finished got me my first GM Nova!

I am excited to start as well, and blow the dust off Kat and my rulebook. I am the exact opposite, I've never had a chance to play a F2F game because of my schedule. PbP fills the void just fine, and I can daydream about my next move and sneak posts in at work.
I just wanted to update as well and say I didn't end up playing another game so my chronicle information is as I posted it above.

The way I do combat is to set up the initiative tracker, and then let everyone post in blocks (before the monster, after the monster, between the monster groups, etc.). If your block is up in the tracker (bolded) then you should post. Don't worry about posting in order, as that slows everything down. Post as you can and I will merge the actions together in initiative order. If your action would depend on what someone before you in the order, place contingencies in spoilers, like this:
I have this action prepared
I have this other action prepared
Obviously, if it is too complex you can delay, but I will be running combat updates at least once every 24 hours and if you miss your posting block, you lose your action.
