Rali with a little bit of help figures it out. He opens a secret passage under the altar to reveal a small room with treasure and no monsters.
Treasure Mithral Breastplate and masterwork steel shield which both belonged to Roslar. A mundane rapier with the symbol of Arazni on it. normally a check to id the symbol, but the DC is so low, you get it.

Where to now? One more fight will probably level you, though you have to take an in-game short rest of 1 hour to level up, otherwise you level later.

Edit the puzzle was step on the heart, then the rapier, then the feather wings. I forgot to state all the pieces on the puzzle in the hazard part. it represents his devotion to Arazni, the Red Crusader and the Herald of Aroden.

Aranor looks in the room in the south and finds a dead mite with his hand near a crystal. It looks as if he tried to grab it and something from the crystal killed him or he was killed over the crystal. detect magic, knowledge religion, arcana and spellcraft all work here

Rali looks into the north room, starting with the northeast one. He sees four mites, with one of them being the Druid mite. They all have weapons pointed at you, then the boss tells them to put weapons down Want you doing here? I thought my guards were on the lookout back there. Anyway, we want crystal that our friend died over, but it has a spell on it. There are two ways to dispel it. Destroy it into pieces and the crystal then disintegrates. That will take care of the Lesser Spectre. Or with knowledge
Requires that Religion or Arcana check dc 15 and then you know how to perform the ritual. Then you fight the Lesser Spectre. I am adding a monster to a fight here and there to keep up with XP since there are more than 4 of you, so you are on schedule, but here is your chance to be ahead by like 1/4 of a level. Destroying the crystal will get the mites to hate you and you fight them. Dispelling it and the mites help you fight the Lesser Spectre with ranged. You get XP as if you defeated the mites and the Lesser Spectre, otherwise destroying it nets 400 plus whatever you'd get from destroying the mites when combat breaks out. Just so you know what you are getting into, look up Wraith, subtract 2 from all ACs, 1 from all saves (except dex which is 2 so it will make sense), 1 from attack roll, changed 1d6 dmg and 1d6 con damage to 1d4 each, change fly to 45, and subtract 9 on the HP. Change Incorporeal to it takes 2 less damage from all nonmagical attacks. I'm letting you see this one, even though most monsters means a check. as it will be a tough fight. The CR is changed to a 4. The crystal is worth no gold

Siiska can go incorporeal and fight that thing toe to toe: wraith doesn't use touch attack against Siiska i.e. they are both solid to each other thus they hit each other against regular AC. This will be cool. :)

As a Soul Shepherd he is interested in putting souls to rest and returning them to their proper judgment and place in the Cycle of Souls. Undead, in general, should be destroyed in his perspective, as a violation of the proper order of the Cycle of Souls.

Based on GM DoubleGold post: "Destroying the crystal will get the mites to hate you and you fight them. Dispelling it and the mites help you fight the Lesser Spectre with ranged." --> so I'm trying to dispel it so the mites help us fight the lesser spectre... let me know if that's ok but that's my understanding of the situation

For clarification, Aranor is not attempting to remove the spell. She's just trying to figure out what the crystal actually is. Since she's been in the southwestern room and the mites are in the northeastern, she doesn't know what the mites requested. (Or that the mites are there, for that matter.) I misunderstood what the K. Religion check was for, (I thought it was to recognize the crystal), but then didn't beat the DC anyway so it didn't matter.

Those Doors in the northwest corner weren't all the way open but ajar.

Pathfinders figure out that it is worth gold to the right buyer, but nobody in the region would buy the crystal. It is only wanted in foreign countries, as it is a special kind of crystal, that can be used once for certain spells that require the use of a crystal, nothing above level 3 though and it vanishes upon use, though you'll have to enchant it first with a wish spell, which few know that, but you figure the mites don't know this. You get the feeling they just want the crystal. There is magic from the crystal and thus you can make the checks to dispell it.

The respond back to you Yes, a crystal worth more than gold, nobody around here wants that type of crystal, I don't know why, even though it not a perfect shine. We will stand here and ready attacks, I suggest you all do the same, except for the one dispelling it, this will be a hard fight, so we gotta hit it first.

once everyone else is ready, let's do the fight. Rali can't use his weapons against the thing unless someone can cast magic weapon or ghostbane dirge. Just remembered the GM modified the monster for us. GM, that will make the fight significantly easier.

Aranor frowns slightly and whispers to the others. "Are we sure we can trust what the mites said about what would happen? Remember the other group of mites tried to talk us into wearing a 'wig' which was actually a monster."

Assuming the group is still set on working with the mites, she sighs but agrees. "Akku, are you sure you want to do this? I can try dismissing the spell myself."

OOC I'm all for fighting the specter and getting that sweet XP, but IC Aranor doesn't trust the mites. Hopefully she's not being too difficult.

Speaking of wigs, I would just like to don my English barrister's wig long enough to respectfully make the case, DM, that however much bonus experience we get out of this, it should be MORE than just what is normal for defeating whatever this monster will be, because what you have presented us with here is not merely a fight with a monster - this is a QUEST!

Okay, everyone make your attacks. At Ivan, call it a quest if you will, but as this is Adventure mode and not PFS mode the fun is changing small things here and there while still keeping the main storyline, as adventure/story mode you can change small things. Everything up to this point was pretty much exactly as written, except for this part which is fairly similar. This fight though can be deadly, he gets one hit on you and you have a Con drain until you get it restored. Can you imagine -4 to your con for the rest of this dungeon, maybe even till the rest of this book as you don't know when you'll get it restored. At low level -4 to your con, even -1 can be a lot.
Mites use slings hit: 3d20 ⇒ (1, 19, 14) = 34 +2 to each dmg: 1d4 - 3 ⇒ (4) - 3 = 1 will be the damage for each one that hits. they get a -1 and the thing resists 2 dmg. The thing is summoned and two mites land a hit on it, as it takes 2 hits for 2 whole dmg.
The druid will cast acid dart hit: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (17) = 20 dmg: 1d3 ⇒ 3 Then the Druid mite's acid dart goes through burning it hard. that is magical, so it takes the whole thing.
