what levels are we looking at? I have a barbarian 3 and a bard 3.

If we are playing up, I have a medium/paladin 3(that does some bard stuff) or a swarm-monger druid 3.
Edit: I also have a ranged-focused brawler 5 that I forgot about. My preference is the paladin, but I'll play whatever works best.
I have a ranger 2, otherwise I will have to pre-gen.
I'm okay with either.
If I pre-gen then I am happy to see what everyone else goes with and fill a gap.
My ranger is a Sable Company Marine so adventures in Korvosa will, literally, be right up his street.
I was hoping to bring my investigator, who is currently level 2 but I'm willing to play up. I have a level 3 skald I can bring instead if we really need to raise the APL.
Seems like the APL would be around 2.5 so maybe we can play high tier with 4 player adjustment?
What are you thinking of bringing, Noral?

I'd like to bring my ratfolks occultist Remmy along, he hasn't seen the light of day in WAY to long. Remmy is level 4 occultist, so that should put us up, though I can bring a level 5 character if we need.
Edit: Poor guy has been in the drawer so long I had his level wrong, he's actually 5! So that should definitely pull us up.

Looks like if I play a 3 (and everyone else brings what they've talked about), we're at 3.3. If I bring a 5 we're at 3.6. That's either high tier with the 4-player or high tier with no adjustment, right?

The quest assumes that the party will make some sort of report back to Kreighton Shane, whether by missive or in person. I would assume that some sort of report back to the Venture-Captain is customary/expected after every Pathfinder mission.
However, what you wish to include in the report (or if you want to make one at all) is up to the party.
Otherwise, the party has successfully finished the first quest.
The next two quests also start with missives from Kreighton Shane (both are now posted in the Handouts) and the party chooses which to tackle first.

Hmm. Kreighton Shane seems like a pretty trustworthy guy to me, and Garrick would just tell the whole truth, but he's willing to let other people make the report if people feel strongly about it.

Helven Leroung, a human, was already an established Pathfinder and member of the Decemvirate by the time Montlarion Jeggare had died in 4417 AR.
Per the scenario, Zaul Blystone, also a human, was born "approximately 300 years" before the party entered the Thicket of Endless Fall in the year 4719 AR.
Assuming both Helven and Zaul rose to the Decemvirate in their 20s and that neither was more than 50 during the events in the "vision" the party experienced, then the battle in the "vision" occurred between roughly sometime between 4439 and 4447 AR.
