ok... time to channel my... whatever that was, in REVERSE. I can't risk any more rounds on that spider... was hoping it would be dead by now with me unentangling myself haha, but two rounds is already enough tempting of fate. Going all out from here.

if that crits, which I hope it does, beetle is shaken for 1d4 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 rounds. Due to dragon ferocity feat.

Yep. And I realized, way too late, that with my build I should've tried to sunder the beetle's shell.... I wonder what the "hardness" rating was for the shell. ??

The beetle is heavily damage and is stunned! Calardan resists the acid! It seems his luck has turned around but then the giant spider lands a bite that pierces his neck. The aasimar drops, unconscious. The beetle recovers from his stun and fights with the surviving spider over the bodies of their remaining prey.

Game over. Epic indeed though. Bugs finally got that nat 20 they needed.

Unfortunate. What was the beetles hp?

The beetle had 200 hp but had lost 72 after DR so he was down to 128. Spider was at 49/120. I think that encounter would have been about a 60% chance of victory with a full party but the 3 man party and the bad rolls were too much to overcome.

It was tough, and I didn't get the clues so it was really a 2 man party all too soon!

What was the AC of the beetle? (Not its underbelly)

The real issue was the DR50!

It didn't have DR50, Rhodoh. You just missed. Its AC was 40 on its back, a measley 25 on its belly.

Sorry. I miss understood your reply to my post June 6. I had three attacks, 38 for 42 dmg, 20 for 50 dmg, and 30 for 49 dmg. Your reply was that one very powerful attack nearly managed to damage the beetle. I took that to mean that the carapace was blocking all of the damage, (DR) not that all three attacks had missed or been deflected. Didn't matter though as that was the end for me.

So if I had started with sundering attacks would they have had any chance? This build was really designed for that. Hmm.... Can you sunder natural armor?

Are we continuing with a new game/GM?

Idk if you can send natural armor but I probably would have allowed it as rule of cool.

I'm down for something else but I don't have anything I care to DM. I'll guinea pig for someone though.
