Blaze, do you realize that you don’t have a point into the disable device skill? As our rogue, you might want to switch that around a bit, unless that was purposeful.
Blaze Darkstone
It was an error on transferring from my creation sheet to here. I use a Pre-formatted section that doesn’t include some of the trained skills and I got the UMD added but missed the Disable Device.

Are we starting with 150 gp or are we rolling ot taking class average? i.e. are we using standard PFS character generation rules?
Blaze Darkstone
It looks like the GM is very nicely setting up a dossier for us, which includes the SOP. I'll agree with the 'when in doubt, go left' procedure.
Merry, I like the concept and also having a very heavily armored large target up front near me. Looks like we are just waiting for our 6th to show up and figure out what they wish to play.
(Stealing JPdS's awesome idea)
Currently, we don't have the following 'core' skills covered:
Handle Animal
Intimidate
Know(Dungeoneering)
Know(Engineering)
Know(Geography)
Know(History)
Know(Nobility)
Linguistics
Sense Motive
Sleight of Hand
Survival
I'm guessing Merry won't be able to grab much, but maybe Intimidate, Handle Animal or even Sense Motive. Regardless I see a couple obvious ways to cover a good chunk of those skills. 1) Bard, 2) GM somehow allowing the Breadth of Experience Feat, 3) Just work together to get them filled in as we level.
Blaze'll be grabbing S.o.H. & K: Dungeoneering at some point but probably won't specialize in either (also, my K: Local is really low).
And I'm definitely not pushing for #6 to play a bard. We would easily benefit from a ranger or druid or monk that could cover a chunk of those wisdom based skills. I'd much rather have a PC that fits with the group than a forced one that constantly clashes with what appears to be a very fun & interesting group. :)
Tristan Beowulf Derexhi

Tristan is the disinherited noble starting with a level of fighter so wont add much in the way of skills to start but as he believes the shoanti traditions are much under appreciated will dip a couple of levels bard before using ranger levels to develop his fighting style I think
Skill focus orartory should help cover diplomacy and sense motive and give some cover to the knowledge skills Intimidate is the fighter social skill and survival
Jean-Pierre de Suis
@Merry: Looks Good :-)
------
Re: The Int-based Knowledge skills, as I said, I would be looking at 'filling in' all of them over the next five levels (when they all become class skills).
When I get my Int-headband, I would be looking at, most likely, Linguistics, as the skill of choice to take.
-------
Intimidate can be useful, but it isn't a deal-breaker if we don't have it. Same for Sleight of Hand.
That said, if someone (say, our 6th player) wanted to pick up Sense Motive / Survival at some point, that would be helpful, since when you need them, you *really* need them ;-)

Merry will tackle intimidate next level as he has a +2 trait bonus in that. Other than that I expect he will learn some physical skills but don't expect much more than a +6 out of him in the best of cases. If it involves int or wisdom forget it, particularly knowledge skills. I embraced the concept of his being a worshipper of a god of ignorance and stupidity.
Jean-Pierre de Suis
Right, so, apparently, Merisal The Risen has quietly built their PC (they posted the alias earlier, but it didn't have any crunch at the time).
Consequently, here is the updated roster:
------------------------------------------
Currently, the party consists of:
Bumble, **Chaotic Neutral** Gnome Fey Sorceror - covering Bluff, Know(Arcana), Know(Nature), Spellcraft
Dragox, (Melee) **Chaotic Good** Half-Orc Cleric of Cayden Cailean - covering Heal, Know(Religion), Perception
Jean-Pierre, (Ranged) **Neutral** Half-Elf Fighter - but going Diviner from level 2 - covering Craft(Bows), Diplomacy, Know(Arcana), Know(Planes), Perception
Blaze, (Melee) **Chaotic Neutral** Gnome Rogue - covering Acrobatics, Diplomacy, Know(Local), Perception, Profession(Engineer), Stealth, UMD
Merry, (Melee) **Lawful Good** Human Paladin - covering Diplomacy, Handle Animal
Tristan, (Melee) **Neutral Good** Half-Elf Ranger - covering Handle Animal, Intimidate, Know(Dungeoneering), Know(Nature), Perception, Spellcraft, Survival
------------------------------------------
That leaves the following skill gaps (to be covered later, if anyone cares to):
Know(Engineering)
Know(Geography)
Know(History)
Know(Nobility)
Linguistics
Sense Motive
Sleight of Hand
------------------------------------------
Let's get this party started!** :-)
**I am moderately amused by the fact that the clueless Paladin is the only one who will have definite trouble in low light conditions ;-)
Blaze Darkstone
Looks like we have a decently wide range of skills covered and I thank everyone for not going 'Lawful-Strict'.
I think Blaze is as ready as much as he can be.
Tristan Beowulf Derexhi
|
Think I am going to dip a couple of level of bard which should give some cover for the knowledges and eventually sense motive. Favoured enemy is fey He probably has some daddy issues. His two level dip in bard will end up grabbing feather fall identify and obscure object as his armour will prevent most combat casting
Tristan Beowulf Derexhi
|
The tall half elf dressed in fur clothing surveys the Magnimmar lodge. thankful his furs cover most of the shint regalia he is wearing. A shield is gripped in one hand covering a sword on his left hip. but his shiny breastplate can be seen poking out from underneath as well as the odd glimpse of fine clothing
Tristan is ready to return to his home city
Merry the Unreliable
|
Merry is ready. He is probably lounging around Heidmarch manor taking FULL advantage of the hospitality as he often does. I would not be surprised if the Heidmarchs find a mission for him to go on soon. Ah, this is the life. Short operiods of satisfying adventure and excitement followed by extended periods of rest, relaxation, and indulgence. Oooohhh! Is that a chocolate Eclaire he sees?

Alright looks like we are good to go. I will get a post up here shortly and get our journey under way.

Sorry dm I was trying to work out the backstory and was having a brief read of the blood of the city novel to try get a feel of the derexhi and found I now know too much and I'm struggling to see where my character would fit given the set up described therein. Should I stick to the loose bones of magnimar city of monuments splat book and ignore the novel or do I just go with my first plan of half elf bastard with another city family and ignore the derexhi story.
Bumble "Fidget" Rumbleberry
I'll be pretty busy until probably next Thursday. I'm not sure what my posting rate will look like day to day. Don't hesitate to bot me if I haven't posted yet on a given day and am holding things up. There should be a Bot Me spoiler at the bottom of my profile but if there is not, recent posts should be indicative.

Thanks JP!
A lot of times that kind of stuff gets lost in the shuffle of the game. Blaze will likely be handing a lot of stuff out to whomever he thinks will use it best, though none of that is stuck in stone and I'm all for discussion about who is best to get what.
I do think the stuff that is actually money should be tracked as a group pool for now (even though I RP'd it going to Bumble) until at least each mission ends then maybe split up among us to spend on items.
GM Poblano Pepper
I have taken the liberty of putting together a loot sheet, which I have linked on Jean-Pierre's profile.
As always, let me know if anyone wants to claim anything :-)
Awesome job JP!
GM, how do you handle weapons and armor related to size in this game? And re: the silver dagger, is that an alchemically silvered dagger with the -1 to damage or something else?
That is a very good question and I probably should have given guidance before.
If a mundane/non-magical item is given/found it is sized for a medium creature. This goes for mundane/mundane/non-magical weapons and armor as well.
If an item is magical in nature or by enchantment the item will resize itself to fit the intended user after the attune themselves to the item. Such items that will Back to the Future resize are +1 dagger, +1 armor, ring of feather fall, etc.
Attuning is done by spending an uniterupted hour with the item.
Silver weapons are of the alchemical silver variety which gives the -1 penalty to attacks.
GM Poblano Pepper
Do we have that money from the puzzle box to distribute and use?
Yes, the garnets can be "converted" as you make a purchase while within this larger city.
However, I am working on the move along post right now and you might have other options available shortly.
GM Poblano Pepper
No worries TBD. Have fun and enjoy it. Sad I will not be able to attend this year.
GM Poblano Pepper
I have unlocked the dossier should you wish to make changes or add anything to it.
Blaze Darkstone
Oh mighty Poblano, may I use some of your SOP slide stuff for some of my games? That is a nice little setup you have formatted there.
GM Poblano Pepper
You are most welcome to use anything of mine you wish to.
This goes to all of you should you wish to use. This includes the other maps I have put together in the Need a map? link in my crunch.
Move along post coming up shortly.
Blaze Darkstone
Thanks GM!
So as most of you have noticed, Blaze tends to jump into action. Which is good, he's the scout and social skill support staff. Ain't gonna be useful hiding in the back afraid to talk!
Anyway, you'll probably see a lot of Aid Another attempts posted pretty quickly when we have social encounters. He will try to do his best to 'read the room' when choosing between Diplomacy, Bluff or even Intimidate. But that doesn't mean I nor he wishes to prevent alternate options from coming to play.
Skill progression wise, he is planning to get Diplomacy up to an Auto-Aid. He will eventually do the same for Bluff and get at least a point into Intimidate, though won't ever have Auto-Aid for that due to size penalties.

No Problem.
Hey don't be knocking the size. I have a plucky little halfling that can demoralize anyone he wishes. :)

Are the Potions of CLW and Potion of CMW good to go to front-liners Dragox, Merry, & Tristan?
I was thinking the two potions of Invisibility would be good to go to Bumble (due to his ability to use ghost sound effectively). We might also want to consider selling one or both of them, at low levels the money might be worth it.
In that same vein, do we want to do a short shopping trip for a few upgrades? MW Thieve's Tools or MW Studded Leather Armor are in the purchasing range for Blaze with his current share, not sure what you all have planned to buy next.
Dragox
I’m fine with all of that. I’d not sell any of the magic yet. We don’t know how difficult magic is going to be to find in this volume of the AP.
Blaze Darkstone
Fair point. Also, we could sell the daggers instead I expect unless one of you changed their mind about a close-quarters backup or silver option.
So far no one has shown interest in them and they don't fit my build (short-swords) so I'd rather just get some money towards gear.
GM, could we do a shopping trip between now and the warehouse if we wish to?
Merry the Unreliable
|
A silver weapon would be nice. Just in case. But if you give him any money he will just blow it on the good life. So I think for now I will forgo. When we have enough money a priority will be to get him a breastplate. Even better we should get a wand of CLW ASAP. Until then, you guys keep all the money safe from him. As for a CLW potion that sounds like a good idea. I'll add it to his inventory.
GM Poblano Pepper
I will be at a conference for work next week (M-F) with very limited time to post. There should be a Bot Me spoiler in my profile (please let me know ASAP if it is missing or empty) that you can use to bot me if any actions are waiting on me.
Bot Me looks easy to follow.
GM Poblano Pepper
A little Shopping montage could happen between your next story step.
It is a large city so a few stores are available. You can sell back any items you wish to sell or exchange any Gems you have found no problem. Seem JP has the Sell prices already in the Loot log.
Blaze Darkstone
Good deal, that leaves the CMW for Tristan.
If we give Merry the silvered dagger (and tell him not to trade it for a round of drinks... or any form of drink related deal) and sell the MW dagger, that will give Blaze enough for his two planned purchases.
Sell thieve’s tools (15g), lantern and oil (1s).
Buy MW thieve’s tools (100g) and Everburning torch (110g).

JP I am loving this Party CPA we got going on!!! It's a wonder.

Alright, so, to make it official:
***EVERYONE receives 203.33gp, as their share of party loot***
So is that from the gems on the spreadsheet or just loose coinage?
Also, for RP purposes did the party get some sleep or did they set off for the warehouse immediately following the meal? I need to know if I'm playing a cranky character or a happy character.
