I wanted to use my re-roll in the hope that talking nicely would get us out of this without having to fight, but it seems my re-roll didn't take so trying again
Re-roll Diplomacy: 1d20 + 11 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 11 + 5 = 36
GM Hawthwile
Thran, you would know that it takes a minute of interacting with a creature to change their attitude. Do you want to take 10 rounds to try that now, or would you prefer to do something else? If so, your reroll is not expended.
Thran

I think I would still try but if it takes 10 rounds that would mean I would only roll at the end? So if after 6 seconds they decide to attack me no diplomacy attempt would have been made and I couldn't have used my re-roll because there was no roll?. I'll just keep my action to talk to the statue and see how he responds
GM Hawthwile
Noted. We'll say the roll happens at the end of the 10 rounds.
With a mighty flap of its stone wings, the guardian statue swoops into the air and alights atop the stone block. "Intruders!" it roars in its trumpeting voice from its lofty perch. "You would destroy this place! Begone, before I tear you limb from limb!" Below, the kobolds watch in stunned silence.
Round 1, 2! Bold may act!

Whoever has it use the relic thingamijig! Qucikly! Telka shouts.
I am not sure who the elders gave it to, if Telka has it he will break it open.
GM Hawthwile
Telka raises the talisman over his head in both hands, then brings it down over his armored knee. With a loud crack, the clay orb breaks open to reveal a piece of metal with an ancient symbol engraved on it. The guardian's roars immediately cease as it spies the metal fragment. "Welcome, friends of Ashkurhall," it states calmly as it lets its wings fall into a relaxed position.
Out of combat!
As the guardian relaxes, the kobolds become upset. "¿Qué? ¿Que pasó?" one of them asks the wall. "¿Por qué no están gritando?"
"¡Pusieron una maldición sobre nuestro Dios Dorado con su extraña arma ruidosa!" another answers, turning the first by the shoulders to face the Pathfinders.
"What you do!?" the first shrieks as he stumbles forward. "You put curse on Gold God with weapon!?" The other kobolds spread out behind him, jabbering and throwing accusations at the Pathfinders.
"You attack home before! I see dwarf before!"
"Homewreckers! Thieves! You been stealing our stuff!"
"Idiot human friend of you! He kill kobolds, wreck home, break tunnel!"
"Why you no stone? You kill Stinkeye!"
"They put a curse on our Golden God with their strange loud weapon!"

Telka still has tongues running so will translate for the group.
In Draconic he says, We have put no curse on your God, we are explorers here looking for one of our own tribe who may have become lost here. We are not thieves and we haven't killed any "Sttinkeye?" We just want to find our friend Sharrowsmith and depart in peace.

"If Stinkeye is your pet, I was playing with him. He is still alive and well!" says Alaric, doing his best to keep annoyance out of his voice. "Please lead us to our... clan-mate... Sharrowsmith, and we would be glad to leave your home."
GM Hawthwile
Several kobolds nod in agreement with Telka’s words before leader cuts the dwarf off. ”Hush! You talk too much. You!” His milky-white eyes glare threateningly at a column behind the Pathfinders before he abruptly points...

Hah!
...at Shredder.
”You! You steal our stuff, break home!” The blind kobold brushes off whispered explanations from his fellow kobolds and protests from the Pathfinders, declaring in a loud voice, ”¡El de lengua plateada intenta engañarnos! ¡Todos invasores, todos responden!”
How, would Shredder like to, um, respond? Also, Alaric can defend his previous assertion that Stinkeye is alright with a skill check (if it’s too much of a stretch for the chosen skill, I’ll use the roll and swap modifiers).

"Ok, so, you know that Shredder cannot talk. Much like Stinkeye." says Alaric. "But he does understand me.
"Shredder, down!"
Alaric Ysande

Alaric thinks, and pulls out his club. "No, wait... this is a trick. Shredder, fetch!" he commands as he tosses the club.

"Oh, come on, Shredder! I'll let up rummage through Tere's pack again!"

At this, Shredder goes to fetch the club. He grabs the thing, which weighs a good portion of his weight, and drags it back to Alaric.

"Good boy! No go rummage" cheers Alaric, as he scratches the dino behind the ear.
He turns to the kobolds. "It was much like that. If you want, you can go check on Stinkeye, and we'll just stand here, calmly."

"Hey! I'll get you a treat if you calm down! I can't reach my pack with you climbing on it." Tere looks around at the kobolds and comments in their language.
GM Hawthwile
”¿Por qué el guapo necesita un traductor?” the kobold leader mutters. ”¿Ha sido golpeada con una maldición de silencio?”
The other kobolds calm down, believing Alaric’s claim thanks to his skillful handling of Shredder. But still the blind one agitates them. ”They with stinky human who break tunnel! They here to break all home!” he yells as he gestures at the space between Banon and Thran for emphasis. His followers mutter and murmur, their trust starting to become suspicion again.

"My apologies for making your doorways bigger then they were before we entered, but myself and most of my friends just didn't fit through them before. We just kept walking into the walls and hitting our heads or getting wedged in at the shoulders..but we'll promise to be more careful from now on and try to avoid breaking more of your home"
