Kinda forgot about the damage he took earlier, haha. Down to less than half.

He then commands the two corrupted warriors, and both of them draw their bows, firing down at the Pathfinders below, taking full advantage of their position!
Luckily, their aim is poor, their reactions perhaps affected by whatever foul influences tug at their minds.
The ghoul snarls in frustration as the arrows fly well wide of their targets... but stays up top as well, ready to leap should any of the Pathfinders make the climb.

Unsure on the DC to get up the ridges... but we'll go with an Easy climb check (since these specials like they're easy/average/hard setup =)
Though it is climbing, so typical climbing rules apply beyond that (ie: need both hands free, quarter speed (unless you fast climb), and no dex to AC)
The bad guys will have some cover from shots from below
Alecto

Climb: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 Climbing is 1/4 speed?

Caebricalius Melandrus
|
Fast Climb: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (17) - 4 = 13
Since it's an easy Climb check, I assume 13 makes it?
With a running start, Cabe puffs heavily and leaps at the incline, scrambling madly to reach the top. He stands above, dirt-caked but victorious.
And unarmed, he reminds himself irritably.
Welp, no weapon until next round lol. This is gonna hurt.
| EM±GM |
Alecto, with the initial movement, you'll be half way up. So will take one more climb check (and a move action) to get the rest. You'd have to put the shield away too... fyi.
Alecto and Caebricalius both have the same thoughts... that being to get up the slope quickly, before the archers can pick folks off. Alecto races off to the right, while Caeb goes left, both of them scrabbling up the slope as quickly as they can.
But climbing in heavy armor is not a simple thing, and Alecto's progress is slower than the kensai's.
So it is that Caebricalius gets to the top first... but the ghoul was waiting for just such an attempt! It leaps across the intervening space to its claws tear at him, before he can fully pull himself up! (4 damage to Caebricalius)
Almost instantly, he can feel some sort of necrotic poisons working their way through his veins where the flesh is torn. His muscles start to seize, right there, dangling from the edge.
Caeb, need a DC 13 Fort save, or you are paralyzed!
This will take effect right on the edge, before you pull yourself up. If you make the save, you can finish the move, and be up top

Nyshka drops her sword, and grabs it up with her prehensile tail. she draws a flask of holy water as she moves up to the base of the cliff, not looking forward to heavy armor climbing...

bow vs ff Alecto: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 1 = 18
As the ghoul descends on the exposed Caeb, those still left at the base of the slope leap to try and drive it back.
Kato draws and hurls a javelin with deadly accuracy. The shaft clears the lip of the slope, striking the undead creature in the side, under its clutching claw.
Dark tries to follow that up with a quick incantation of his own, but his aim is not nearly so accurate, the small bolt of positive energy striking the dirt some distance away.
Nyshka goes with a more physical source of positive energy, as she digs out a vial of holy water and steps forward to lob it up the ravine. Her throw is just a bit off line though, and looks like its going to fall to the right... only to have the ghoul stagger backwards right into its arc. The vial shatters across the ghouls back, the blessed water instantly searing its undead flesh. It can only hiss in agony, as it slumps to the ground... its flesh continuing to burn.
Would have missed... but it still had the -2 AC for the charge it did on Caeb =)
The nearby Kellid turns its bow on Caeb, firing a shot point blank, as it steps further away from the cliff. Without his sword in hand, his defenses are not enough to knock it asside, and it cuts a long groove along the side of his left thigh (3 damage to Caebricalius)
The other Kellid continues to fire at Alecto, hoping to pick her off the slope while she is exposed and unable to avoid the shots. Unfortunately for him, Alecto's plate armor is more than a match for a few errant arrows, and the shaft deflects off, doing no damage at all. He too steps away from the edge, bot of them now even harder to target from down below.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16, 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Those Pathfinders down below, take advantage of the momentary clear space, to try climbing up to join Caeb up top. Nyshka and Kato manage to scramble up with relative ease, though Dark does not do so well, every root and rock he tries to grab, breaking off in his hand and crumbling to dust... the negative energy leaching into the land clearly affecting it, as much as the creatures in it.
Alecto, already half way up, manages to finish the climb, even in her armor, and moves with Nyshka, Kato, and the heavily injured Caebricalius, to close on the two corrupted Khellid warriors.
Neither one seems right... hair unkempt, skin covered in dark blotches and lesions, their eyes bloodshot and red, with dark circles under them that almost make them look like undead themselves. Whatever taint pulses from the portal, it appears to affect everything, eventually.
Caeb, his sword finally in hand, infuses it with just a bit of arcane energy, and cuts a long gash along the nearer warriors arm. The man barely registers the damage, as he steps back, and fires one last arrow at the magus, though Caeb easily knocks it aside. With a small wail, the Twinhorn warrior, flings the bow at him as a distraction, while he draws a weapon of his own, ready to fight on.
The second warrior doesn't even try to take another shot, abandoning his own bow, as the others close in, and drawing his own battleaxe. He mutters something about 'it coming' over and over under his breath. He hacks forcefully at Kato, a long sweeping swing parallel to the ground, that cleaves right into the half-orc's belly, nearly eviscerating him! (9 damage to Kato)

And just like that, all of Kato and Caebricalius' wounds are gone... even Dark and Nyshka feel the aftereffects from your canoe mishap fade.
Buoyed by this, you return to the fight with renewed spirits!
As Dark finally manages to clear the slope, clambering up top to view the melee, Alecto charges across barren terrain, trying to strike down the nearer of the two khellids. Despite his apparent condition though, his reflexes are still good enough to dodge her blow. He quickly turns and hacks at her in return with his axe. She quickly realizes she has made herself vulnerable from her aggressive approach! The blade finds a gap in her plate armor, sinking in deeply between metal and into flesh! Blood flows freely, as she staggers back. (8 damage to Alecto)
Caeb, his wounds gone, circles around to stab at the other khellid warrior, his blade cutting a short gash across the man's back... enough to throw him off balance for Nyshka's followup, that pierces his side almost to the hilt. The warrior spits out a sudden gout of blood, then collapses to the ground.
Kato, the only one who seems concerned that the khellids are under the influence of the portal and can be saved if they are not killed, moves to try to stop the last, though his tentative stroke comes nowhere near... as he confirms that weapons meant to kill, are harder to use for other purposes.
