Looking in, So unfortunately I’m with them...but not really. We apologise for barging in like this, but we have had a really...really long day. We seem to always be one step behind a killer who’s been taking out some key figures. The rest of my team have a heavy suspition it’s you. Would you please be kind enough to explain your side of things? The poison used had a scent very reminiscent of the scents coming from your shop. I’m sure an explanation would help settle my friends.

You seem to be a group of busy bodies sticking your nose into local business. I hear a lot of what goes on. Perhaps instead of threatening and waving swords in people's faces a simple discussion may work. She looks pointedly around at you all.

Unfortunately Hannar 1 success kinda got negated by 2 failed intimidates.

I am in the market for some private security specialists to help me with a recent problem that I have had. I also hear many things. Did you want to ask me anything. I am an alchemist, and I was working on a compound. The smell is that compound.... however the compound is no longer in my possession, having been stolen recently. In its current form it is too identifiable to be useful in its current state. I have been doing some of my own investigations into the thieves and I have tracked them back to the Dripping Wall Distillery.

Yes, I know Bosk. He was well liked in the community and never drew unwanted attention. That meant that the local assassins guild was unlikely to have a contract on him.

I knew of Brandur also. He was well respected as beingan approachable representative of the local military, pointing the PCs toward his cottage. The news of his death troubles me. His cousin is Jallor Clovesh who is the commander of the local infantry. His position and his popularity likely mean that his death also was not sanctioned by the local assassin's guild. I have heard that there is a group of defectors who have broken from the guild. Perhaps they know more.

Assuming you meant Ramyla, not Pemak Dave.

I have never been to Ramyla's distillery but I have heard very good things about its brews. There is rumors of something strange going on beneath it though.

Dave snaps his head at Bernard's uninvited touch and relaxes just as quickly... Perhaps you're right... Dave pointed looks at Pemak, That doesn't change the fact, that Pemak here is either in great danger or pulling some kind of ruse. I'd be lying if I said I was comfortable just leaving her behind. Perhaps we can leave her in the care of Brandur's brother...He shouldn't be too hard to seek out and has as much interest in us solving this as any. Dave's face is determined..He does not trust this half Orc especially after smelling the very same poison smell he smelled after his venture captain and the other's death...

Dave drums his fingers on the pommel of his long sword while waiting for a reply. To be truthful ...I'm only asking as a matter of courtesy..We could wait outside until Bernard's brother was summoned and they could search it just as easily? I was too vague in my hinting by Pemak.

With the crowd rushing away you get a good look at the person. It is a customer, a random person off the street, but hanging from one ear is a pearl earring, the twin to the one from Brandur's cottage. And thinking back now this person was acting suspiciously, loitering outside Pemak's shop when you arrived.

The figure ignores Hannar's request for information. Instead it lashes out at Bernard with both hands.

Note Dave traveled through Hannar's square not Yangrit's to get to his flanking position with Bernard. (ie. unless adversary has reach no AoO on Dave)

Dave pushes past Pemak and Hannar, after seeing this one earring woman?, grow claws and savagely slash his companion Bernard...He pulls his shortsword along the way (now dual wielding). Dave manages to flank the woman with Bernard on the opposite side and looks for a vulnerable area to strike, then lunges at the woman with his longsword: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 2 = 19dmg: 1d8 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 3 + (5) = 14

Try it again. The claws are a surprise, certainly, but they'd be less of an issue if that person were pinned. First things first, Yangrit reaches out again to try to grab the suspicious person.
