"Borador, if you've recovered, would you give the casket a look-over?"
Lucky does the same. perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
"Sure, we'll take you and your mistress with us Amantius."
A talking tree, a talking sword, now a talking clockwork owl! What a world this is!

GM Ietsuna |

With little difficulty you open the casket and retrieve the accolades. You do your best to treat the remains with dignity and not disturb them more than you need to. You leave the tomb, closing up as you go and taking Amantius of the remains of his master along with you.
You return to Remaio and he is pleased with your efforts, although returning with the remains and the owl does taint Honaria's legacy slightly he only mentions this once then lets the subject lie. You arrange for the remains and the owl to be returned to their family. Before departing He informs you that even if the Cenabri family pays for his repairs, he plans to keep his broken face to remember Italice.
Part 5 done. On to part 6.
Several days pass before you receive another missive from Remaio.

Oh good then he didn't fall unconscious lol. That beard is totes gone now. Disintegrated by acid!
Borador arrives wearing a bright orange doublet and hazel-colored pantaloons and undershirt, with a silver-buckled black belt and crushed velvet shoes. He looks a bit out of his element, with a new beard that does not quite match his hair color. "I look like a bloody fancy pumpkin in this thing."

![]() |

"I've, um... never really done one of these things. Hopefully you all can help me out?"
So, he thinks as he dresses in his room. A fancy party. Gorrig carefully puts on the fine clothes Remaio had provided him. He'd never owned anything so extravagant. I just know I'm gonna make a fool of myself. He leaves his axe and armor behind, but keeps Glory on his belt. Surely a fancy sword would fit in at a fancy party. She's an Alcasti, after all.
When he rejoins the others to leave for the party, Gorrig is dressed in green satin that brings out his eyes, gold pantaloons, and shining black shoes, looking for all the world like a winesink bouncer stuffed into a lord's finery. Glory, newly polished and resplendent as ever, rests idly at his hip. He chuckles at Borador. "Dont linger near the food, or you may get carved!"

![]() |

What a ridiculous getup.
Lucky has never worn such finery before. Back in the village, not even well-to-do halflings would see any good reason for ruffs and ermine. If it's not comfortable, what's the point of it?
He's seen such attire on visitors to the Sisterhood's monastery. Nobody dressed that way was a pleasant person you'd want to spend time with.
Now this. This is going to be what Hell looks like...
Lucky will carry a dagger in his boot, unless expressly forbidden.

A carriage arrives and collects you from your lodgings. You arrive outside the palace and Remaio is there waiting for you. He chats with you idly while he waits for you all to be admitted.
Inside the palace
This ancient and grand palace is decorated with ornate arches of patterned stone. Robed greeters bow as the building’s massive iron doors swing open. Light illuminates the hall through dozens of windows in the ceiling. Shining panels of gold decorate the marble walls.
You have arrived before the proceedings officially commence so you have time to mingle and speak with some of the people present. There are several people with which you can converse. Princess Eutropia, Gloriana Morilla, Dominicus Rell, Father Basri, Inka Heldotor, Captain Seferi, Solmon Menander, Theon Cenabri.
She is in conversation with Aayef, the young man that you rescued from the scorpion.

GM Ietsuna |

Just do your best to mingle. You wont need to speak, I will present my case and if you can just validate what I say when I ask you to that will be more than enough.

Borador claps Remaio heartily on the back. "Relax, lad. This'll be a cakewalk. Ye've got it in tha bag, eh?"
Borador finds his way to Captain Seferi to mingle. He knows squat about boats, but he knows plenty about larceny. "So what does a corsair do for the navy, exactly? Harry enemy countries ships, I imagine? Is it lucrative work?" He sips a beer, some dainty Molthuni lager by the flavor. He's heard they're all the rage in Absalom. Least it's better than the Vudrani Pale Ale boom in '09, he thinks irritably. T'was like drinkin' goblin urine.

Yulau heads toward Gloriana, seeing her speaking with the boy. ”Aayef, pleasure to see you again. Milady, I haven’t had the pleasure. I am Yulau. Aayef and I, along with my friends had an exciting adventure together,” she says, trying to make the boy sound tougher than he was.

She has let me know that she suspects that Solomon Menander is here for trouble. She has reason to suspect that he has letters that mean trouble for the Princess. She has tasked us with reviewing the letters, so that she can prepare to mitigate the impact they might have. Anyone with me? If so, how can we grab the letters for a few minutes?”

GM Ietsuna |

This is a relatively short time before the proceedings will kick off so I'll say we move on in the next day or 2. I'll let things play out and see how we go. Hard to judge with PBP

"So you know of Ragathiel. Yes, he is known as the General of Vengeance, but he also values duty and chivalry. Unfortunately I only left the enclave a few months ago and have not been able to do much. However, I have been to Highdelve and assisted the people there to get a trinket back. The group I was with followed some leads to a cave where an ettin called home, or was it troll. Either way, we fought it for a moment. Seeing as that we were not doing much damage to it, we decided to do a tactical retreat into a tighter space. This is when we changed the tide of battle and slew the monstrous beast. We were able to retrieve the medallion and presented to, and this is the good part, the golden dragon that gave it to the town for protection. The dragon, Aurelliax, presented each of us a small golden statue" He fishes it out of a pocket and shows it to Inka. It is in fact a golden statue in the shape of a sleeping dragon. "Aurelliax said it possess magic to grant some minor miracles. But, I do not know how to activate it."

Princess Eutropia. An actual bleedin' princess, and possible future ruler of Taldor. This is a real turn-up. Never thought I'd get this close to someone like that. Wonder what serious royalty are like? Only one way to find out...
Lucky makes a bee-line for the Princess. Once close enough he coughs once, bows (somewhat awkwardly) and introduces himself: "Madam Princess, I am Lucky Lee, a Pathfinder", that sounds better than 'adventurer' doesn't it? "It is an honour to be here this evening. May I ask you Princess, what is your view on the institution of slavery in Taldor?"
Lucky tries to hide his gulp as his mouth dries up in an instant. Hope this doesn't get me killed by whichever of these posh nobs is her bodyguard.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Thanks Lucky....There is no guidance in the module for that. This is complete Ietsuna RP, clumsy as it is.
You have gotten around and spoken to just about everyone, except Solmon. I know that Yulau has him in her sights so I will leave it for a little longer before we push on, but don't take too long. The official part of the evening needs to commence soon.

Please see the above post. Anyone anxious to help me try to get the papers?

GM Ietsuna |

Solmon is fairly distracted watching the goings on in the room. You can try to engage him in conversation, or perhaps try to pilfer them with a slight of hand check, or try to convince him to show you with a diplomacy check.

Borador scratches his nose and shrugs at Yulau. "Someone stealthy could snag it, I can take a look. I'm handy at letters in a few languages."
Borador is not trained in Stealth, but he is trained in Linguistics. If someone can acquire the note, maybe he can make a Linguistics check to suss out anything of import? Or that might be a Sense Motive check.
... Is anyone in the party stealthy?

![]() |

Stealth, yes (for a level 1 anyway); but not sleight of hand. Lucky's no thief, but if someone else wants to have a go that's absolutely fine with me. Lucky's attention is elsewhere ;)

Yulau steps straight to Solomon. ”Greetings my dear,” she whispers conspiratorially. ”Rumor is you have some damning evidence against the Princess. I’ve got no love for her either. Anything that puts her in a worse light, so much the better. Please, show me. I just have to know how terrible she has been.”

GM Ietsuna |

You must think that I came down in the last shower. I don't just give information away to just anybody who asks for it. This is my political capital.
His demeanor toward you is not to the point where he will willingly hand them over and we are running short of time. The module says you get maybe 5 minutes with each person, so I am going to push on.
The Princess calls the room to order. We shall begin this hearing now. Mr Alcasti Remaio stands and moves to the front of the room. He starts speaking in a flowery manner but before he can get into the meat of his presentation the Princess interrupts.
Good sir, I understand that we have some here who can speak to the worthiness of your claim in a little more detail than you yourself. I believe that they gathered the evidence that you present. Please step forward and present your evidence and story. The Princess turns and looks at the group of you.
Ok, social time. Can I have you present your case for or against Honaria and detail your findings. Just one of you can do it, or you can collectively speak to the topic. Can we please keep it to 1 quest at a time so that we can get a bit of a dialogue going. I have not RPed as a princess before and I am looking forward to the tiara and flowing gown.

![]() |

”Perhaps the most important piece of evidence we found, was the magnificent Glory, sword of the family for many generations. Luckily Glory happens to be able to speak on its own about the particular achievements of certain family members!”. She nods to the others to bring the sword forward.

![]() |

Taking a deep breath Baronet Cassiopia Minksala addresses the crowd.
"Your royal highness, lords and ladies.
To the eternal glory of our country and to honor one of his greatest general we have traveled far and wide to bring proof of valor and glory.
We have found evidence of their excursions and bravery, testemony by an awekened tree living since those days and her story of the fight against a rebellious group in the Verdun Forest.
We traveled to the Homestead and found documents proving her tactical acument.
And finally we went to her grave to find the honors she received in recognition of her deeds.
What more do you need to accept that she was a hero of the Taldan expeditions?"

diplo, aid, luck: 1d20 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 3 = 20

GM Ietsuna |

Ok, so you crushed the Diplo. Equal to a 45 on a DC25 diplo to convince the princess.
Princess Eutropia listens intently to your tale. She interjects every so often to ask a clarifying question. She nods as you speak, looking from one to the other of you.
At the completion of your speech she takes a few moments to ponder.
I ask each of you to come attend my person. AS you come to her at the front of the room she asks you to kneel. I knight each of you for your service to Taldor. And I restore Countess Honaria Alcasti and all of her line to the nobility.
The End. Thanks all for playing. I hope I did ok as a GM. I'll get chronicles out in the next few days and reporting too.

![]() |

I'm a Knight now? Holy gods, that was unexpected! Sir Lucky! I better look into Taldan politics if I'm going to use this title at all.
Lucky is taken aback, but accepts the honours graciously.

![]() |

Borador looks flabbergasted. He raises a finger as if to interject, thinks better of it, and kneels to be knighted instead. "Uhm. Thanks." Then he hurriedly adds, "Yer majesty."
Afterwards, when they're away from the soiree, Borador shakes his head. "When I joined tha Pathfinders, I dinnae think it would end up wit me bein' knighted. That's bloody odd." He sinks into rumination after that, and remains quiet for the rest of the trip home.

![]() |

Zarek says nothing during the Cassiopia's speech, but nods in agreement.
After being "knighted" Zarek gives thanks and leaves the the party. He doesn't know where to go next, most likely back to Flaxseed Lodge to spread the word of his Empyreal Lord.
Good show GM. Thanks for running.
