Paralysis linked to its bite. Surprise Reach, and Revolting Taste.
Any creature that deals damage to a drochtac with a bite attack must succeed at a DC 12 Fortitude saving throw or be nauseated for 1 round and sickened for 1d4 rounds. A creature that succeeds at the saving throw is sickened for only 1 round. This is a poison effect. The save DC is Constitution-based.
As part of a full attack, a drochtac can extend the reach of all its natural attacks by 5 feet. This grants the drochtac a +2 bonus on its attack rolls, but imposes a –2 penalty on its AC until the start of its next turn.

Mivvy's rapier stabs into the Mite's eye, driving through his brain.
He offers a weak smile before dying.
Kasumi the Vexatious
|
Kasumi bends over to observe the pretty butterfly for a moment, chuckling as it alights upon her wand. She doesn't even notice the mites until Mivvy kicks one off her blade and whirls around for her next target, at which point Kasumi utters a quick swear in Sylvan.
"Uhhhhhhhhh--YOU!" she says, quickly taking in and prioritizing the targets. With a quick twisting, flicking motion, she sends a beam of sparkly light toward the drochtac.
Daze, DC17!
"Wait-- oh, Daikitsu. That's a Drochtac. They've got long reach-- so keep your distance!" she cautions.

Kasumi the Vexatious
|
Kasumi takes a few steps back, slipping into the bush effortlessly as if it weren't there. Her presence is felt, however, as a sudden streak of light jets out from inside, swirling around the remaining mite's head.
DC17 Daze again! Hope you don't mind the delay, I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to Daze someone who was about to be on the receiving end of an orcish morningstar...
Father Urzaia Conflict
|
Morningstar is the backup now. Urzaia uses the piercing version of a falcata as his main now. I think he's going to have some Vital Strike and crit moves later on.
Prakriti Neela Yaadu
|
Riti moves in to strike at the Drochtac, hoping to get it before it recovers from its dazed state.

Mivvy comes round the creature to flank it.
double move. If needed, Mivvy has the movement left for athletics to avoid AoO (for reach)
GM Worg
|
Fen stabs the mite through, and Kasumi redirects her magic missile to the Drochtac instead. Both now lie still.
Mivvy Hetherington
|
Mivvy surveys the corpses, ”These things do t have the wit to cause such trouble. They are a symptom of the malaise here.”
Then she sniggers, ”Mrs Hawthorne loves that word: ‘malaise’. She put about five syllables in it.”
Kasumi the Vexatious
|
Kasumi nods in agreement. ”We’ll need to search the grounds, then!”
For a bit of time, those who listen closely can hear her muttering:
”Malaise. Ma-layyyyz. Ma-lay-eez-y. Mally-ally-ay-zee.”
GM Worg
|
You begin searching the grounds. There is little to find here, but there is also the entrance to the stables and the entrance to the manor itself.
To the east there is some garden space as well as the family crypt.
Where doth thou traverse to, finders of ye path?
Father Urzaia Conflict
|
"I don't think I'd put those away yet, Fen. That was just the welcoming committee. They no doubt have allies waiting for us."
Says Urzaia as he resumes his trek to the stables.
GM Worg
|
Inside the stables...
Bones litter the bare stone floor of this stable. The reek of decay hangs heavy in the air.
Some angry centipedes chiter at you, but do not move closer. You can see that they just want to protect their eggs and do not want any trouble.
Hand-waive the fight because it gives the option to.
=========================================================================== =========================
Inside the family tomb...
Hidden amid a copse of gnarled trees sits a large mausoleum of polished granite. Statues of weeping angels of greentinged bronze flank the closed entrance. A tarnished silver doorplate on the black steel door reads, “Sarini.”
Disable Device DC20 or Break DC18 to open the tomb.
Mivvy Hetherington
|
Mivvy raises an eyebrow, ”Really? Tomb-breaking? Perhaps we should concentrate on the rest of the grounds and then try the house?”
Rondolpho Keene
|
”Our mission was to explore this whole place, as I remember, mausoleum included. I suspect there will be company down there. Anyone with me to open this door up right now?”
Keene will try to pick open the door if the majority of the group are with him. If not, he will agree to move on.
Kasumi the Vexatious
|
Kasumi shrugs. ”Not like they particularly respected others in life or death, if I hear the rumors correctly. Might as well pop in and see what their bones have been up to.”
On that note, she takes a minute to find a likely-looking club.
Prakriti Neela Yaadu
|
"Yes, we might learn something important down here." Riti helps push open the tomb.
STR (aid): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
GM Worg
|
That will do.
The angel statues at the front are trapped to slice who ever walks through. Disabling them would require a DC20 Disable Device check, or being clever.
Inside the mausoleum, two stone coffins stand on a dais, and several more coffins lie on shelves built into the walls. On the dais are two empty coffins.
One of the coffins contains bones and clothing that look reminiscent of an adolescent boy. It is clutching a journal. Moisture has rendered the journal nearly illegible. The dedication says "To Luca".
A DC13 Linguistics will allow you to decipher the book in 1d6*10 minutes. Without Linguistics, it would take 1d6 hours.
Father Urzaia Conflict
|
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Surprise!
Urzaia pushes deeper into the tomb.
He holds up the journal.
"Can anyone read this? I can't make out the smudges."
