Alrik and Yajima can question the people wanting to come board. If Alrik Takes 10 on Sense Motive, he gets 18 and Yajima can autosuceed at a Sense Motive Aid Another to make it 20.

Perhaps all of the other ranged folks (not using Detect Evil) can wait on the boat out of the danger zone (presumably)?.

"Unfortunate-- but it appears she still graces you with some power, at least?" queries the Lady Vulpina, tilting her head and raising a brow. "Regardless, it sounds like we should be in a sufficient place. I hope so, at any rate."

Vulpina's range is limited and she's most effective in melee range. Plus, if the danger zone includes where the civilians are, she's going to prefer to be in the thick of it.

Also, she doesn't have Precise Shot.

One of the elves is suddenly engulfed in a plume of fire. He coughs and clears the smoke from his eyes just in time to see the arrow sink into his gut. He falls to the ground, watching the light fade as his companion is pounced upon by a hippogriff.

Denaria's arrows fail to penetrate the half-orc's impressive armor. He smirks and steps forward, swinging his axe to return the favor. Fortuitously, the brigand snags his toe on a warped board on the dock and misses the paladin by far more than a hair.

The second brigand simply stays where he is and swings at the nearest Pathfinder. The clang as the axe strikes armor is impressive, and the blow leaves a significant dent in Alrik's breastplate, but the armor does its job.

The remaining Aspis mage cautiously casts a spell and is surrounded by five identical replicas of himself. Trusting the protection of his illusions, he makes a break for the safest place he can think of--between two heavily armored half-orcs.

Attack of Opportunity provoked from the Hippogriff (and Yajima if he has Combat Reflexes or the equivalent).

A glint comes into Lady Vulpina's eye as she rushes forward, an absolutely golden opportunity presenting itself. Her hand moves not to the pistol at her right hip but the one on her left.

Yajima does have combat reflexes.
Yajima sees the mage attempt to flee with his images as his defense. Knowing how effective the images can be, he closes his eyes as he punches, trusting his instincts instead of his eyes.

GM Adjudication:
1. I am your back-up GM, and I could not find an example of Ewok adjudicating 'closing/opening eyes' in the thread. When he returns, he may adjudicate 'closing/opening eyes' differently should it come up again in the future. 2. No action is specified in the rules for 'closing/opening eyes,' leaving it to GM discretion. While I do not believe that a move action is the correct answer, I do believe that allowing it to function as an immediate reaction or interrupt of an unplanned action grants it too much power. Thus I determine that it cannot be 'performed' as part of an Attack of Opportunity. Had Yajima's eyes been closed at the start of combat, I would have allowed it. There are additional factors to discuss, but as your back-up GM, we do not need to have the discussion. Also, 3. My ruling did not change the outcome.

Harpocrate snaps at the elf wizard as he retreats, but it destroys one of the copies instead. Yajima does not quite close his eyes before he strikes, but nonetheless, he strikes the real wizard and knocks him out cold. The remaining copies of the wizard flicker around his body, each of them laid out like a stunned fish.

Lady Vulpina releases a blast of cold iron shot at the armored brigands. There is a great deal of smoke and thunder, but only the closest of the two winces in pain.

Alrik's swing goes wide. Yajima charges down the dock and clocks the nearest brigand in the jaw. There's an audible snap as the half-orc falls. Both of Wenjeff's skillful shots punch through the heavy armor of the last brigand. Conney tosses his bomb at the foot of the brigand, and he goes down due to the pain.

Denaria saves her arrows.

I'm totally fine with your ruling of closing eyes.

Yajima has no preference where the battle takes him. Since everything is green, should we prepare a defense here or would going somewhere we haven't been accomplish something useful?

Yajima checks the fallen bandits, making sure, as best he can, that none of them die from his actions.

Round 3 just started. I applied your success to Round 3 because I was still typing the post when Shifty made the announcement in the GM thread. So most places do not currently have successes except for your 1 success here. I believe that each district needs 4 successes by the end of this round.

The Aspis agents are all reasonably far from death, and it is a simple matter to stabilize the two who had life threatening wounds.

While Yajima cautiously moves into the safe house--noting the spent rune of blasting on the open door and the charred corpse of a crusader on the ground outside--and Vulpina right behind him, Denaria confirms that none of the townsfolk are possessed.

Unfortunately, Yajima was no more perceptive than the crusader that came before him. With the smell of brimstone, two squat, sweaty demons manifest in the room.
