Couple of questions:
- I was backup GM during the last run of the Cosmic Captive but can't remember if there was some collective preparation done for that. Anyone recalls and if there was, do you have the link?
- I remember one of the issue raised back then was that the Cosmic Captive had quite a number of possible paths for the players to go down, which could result in a lot of unnecessary prep for the GMs. Was that a major issue?

(And Tyranius, went back to look and realised you were my GM for that run!)

I am looking for it as well Kuey, but having a difficult time finding it. I am currently working on prep for this and should have it posted in the next couple of days.

Though the multiple paths for this isn't so bad on PbP as we have time to read and re-read before a significant post. With that being said it is still a good idea to read over each part a couple times to be familiar with how they operate.

Hm, that doesn't work for me. I have the Syrinscape Fantasy Player open on PC, but if I click your link I just get a popup asking me "Open SyrinscapeURIProxy?" and then if I tell it to do that it tries to open something in the browser that doesn't actually do anything with the Syrinscape player.

(Caveat: I don't know much about Syrinscape so I'm not at all sure how you're expecting it to act.)

GM Blazej's Cosmic Captive 1-2 CORE Table

I'm having a similar issues with the link now working. It asks about opening the file with the ULIProxy, but when I confirm it nothing appears to happen. I tried restarting the computer but it doesn't end up doing anything (no program starts, just a blank page, the Player doesn't have any indicator on it). Same thing happens with all the browsers I tried this with. The link prompts the question of whether to open the Syrinscape app, but doesn't do anything past that.

Edit: Same issues on mobile (Android). Installed app and the link still does not play anything.

Thank you all for the additional testing on the Syrinscape front. I was hoping to add another level of immersion to these wonderful Play-by-posts but after a few more days of speaking with their techs and forums on their website it seems that this is still not possible on the play-by-post side of the house.

There is a 3rd Party App function built into the program that I was looking to use as the integration but it seems to be built in for mainly Fantasy Grounds and a few other sites. The only way it would work for forums at the moment it seems is if everyone bought the soundpack itself which isn't ideal or even remotely economically sound considering that a live game would only need to purchase it a single time.

So unfortunately I will have to scrap the Syrinscape portion that I was hoping to try though I am still putting a suggestion in or two on their forums for future uses.

My table is supposed to be tier 3-4, but a player just asked if he could play a level 5 character. My understanding is that players have to be in tier since there is a 5-6 table but I wanted to check with the oversee?

That is fine as you can be within 1 sub tier within either side.

@nightdeath, I think the 5-6 table is full.

Correct, they would get OOT gold.

They changed that in the Season 10 guide. The player now gets tier 5-6 gold:

If the PC’s level is not within the subtier played (such as a 1st-, 2nd-, or 3rd-level character in Subtier 4–5), circle the Out-of-Subtier gold value or calculate the Out-of-Subtier value for Seasons 0–4 by taking the average of both subtiers and rounding up. For special scenarios with 4 or more subtiers, give the character the gold value for the tier that matches his character level, rather than the tier played.

Thanks everyone for the update. Seems off to me. A L5 character would likely steamroll through a tier 3-4 game, and yet still get the full tier 5-6 rewards. Oh well.

Think about it from an organizer's point of view. I recently put together a run of #8-99C. To make the tables work, I had to ask one level 7 character to play at the 5-6 table. It's nice that they now didn't lose any gold by being willing to switch.

As we draw closer and you are all checking out the scenario please go through each of the links on the Gameplay thread and let me know if I am missing anything you all think may be helpful to you all running your tables.

Also play around with the success trackers above. I set it up to be as minimal as possible and to allow the players to see their progress. I will reset it's progress on the 14th as we begin.

I found the maps put together for the last special very helpful. Anybody willing and able? ;-)

Yes, there are several older maps sets out there and also one posted within the Gameplay thread as well Either will work just fine.

Right now you are still on the reserve list so if another table were to open then you are next up.

Overseer GM,
When do plan on making the introductory post for Part I? There's a brief Overseer GM text block on p. 5 that enables Table GMs to start mustering activities on pp. 5-6, including Diplomacy (gather information) and Knowledge checks.
It would be great if we could work on that now, before January 14.

On behalf of one of my players, I'm seeking some clarification. Does Planetary Adaptation also provide a type of energy resistance?

Planetary Adaptation
This spell functions as planar adaptation (Pathfinder RPG Advanced Player’s Guide 236), except that it works only on worlds of the Material Plane.

Planar Adaptation
Planar adaptation grants you immunity to the harmful environmental effects of a particular plane of existence, including such hazards as toxicity, extreme temperatures, and lack of air. Additionally, you gain energy resistance 20 to a single energy type prevalent on that plane (choose one if more than one type is equally prevalent).
