18 is sufficient.
The barmaid sort of rambles a bit and you catch a bit about guys being targeted for muggings, like them good-lookin' boys from a couple nights ago. Heart-throbs they were. One, I heard tell was the son of the former Open Lord, he was!
Amelia Zera Rose
a lords son? Did ye happen to catch his name? Sounds like quite the customer! Do you think anyone would be crazy enough ta' mess with the son of a nobleman? amelia acts shocked and awed.

Out-of-towner, eh? The old Open Lord was Dagult Neverember. His son, Renaer, was the one from a couple o' nights ago... I hope he's all right... She has a wistful look on her face, for all of a second, before the barkeep yells for her to get back to work.
Enough with yer gossip, Mira! Get these drinks ta table 4!
Marquez
i hope everyone who celebrates it had a good holiday.
Marquez waits for Damine to finish and holds the door for her as they leave following Reu. ”An interesteeng place to be sure, but I find my curiosity es still piqued.” he says subtey.
continueing to the tavern unless something else happens.
Damine Nithrissa
Sorry for the delay, definitely got held up by the holidays this week.
Damine quickly poked her nose throughout many of the trinkets in the shop before sighing. ”Well, I wanna get a whole bunch of these but I don’t have too much money...Oh! Once we deal with this job, I can use the reward and come back! I’ll see you then, mister!” The tiefling girl waves enthusiastically to the owner and giggles and performs a mock curtsy as Marquez opens the door for her, following after Reu to the tavern where the others were.

The rest of you catch up to the mess that is the Skewered Dragon! Amelia and Bhoors see the others enter and the tavern grows quiet and there is a palpable feeling of unwelcome...
Bhoors Thistledown
Bhoors smiles, "Relax lads this bunch is with us. Here for bit of fun and honest drink."
Aeshuura

At Bhoors' comment, they turn back to their tables and the din of conversation elevates again...
Bhoors Thistledown
Bhoors welcomes the new arrivals smiling, he answers quietly "I think Amelia learned something from the server. I have been warming up the crowd. They are rowdy and a bit of a clique but so far so good." He laughs, talking louder, "We need more drinks." He flags down the server again.
Marquez
”Jhoo can never go wrong wit more drinks” Marquez adds smiling.
Getting the lay of the land, Marquez looks around for any kind of trouble he might be able to get into. anyone playing cards or gambling?

Reu struts through the center of the tavern, flaunting his pipe smoke as if its the most amazing thing ever for all to see, blowing it everywhere and rambling about its purported properties "...you say you prefer the gray smoke? Really? Isn't that yesterdays news? I believe purple smoke is superior in every way..." it may or may not be having some psychoactive effects on the small gnome, hard to tell.

There are a bunch of dock workers that look like they are in a tense game of cards. Two of the four have folded, while the remaining two seem to be in an ever escalating game of bluff and raise...
Amelia shares the gossip that she gleaned from the barmaid, the piece of information to note was that a man that could match Floon's description was here a couple of nights ago. He met with this young Neverember fellow and they headed out. Some thugs headed out after them, possibly muggers?
Bhoors Thistledown
Bhoors thinks a moment. "Amelia you think if you asked the server might mention if those who followed Neverember out are around here tonight."
Bhoors Thistledown
Bhoors leans over to Marquez, "Assuming we get a possible bead on the same lads here tonight who may have followed Floon and Neverember out the other night. You may have already thought of this but perhaps you can be the honey in a trap."
Aeshuura
|
When asked, the barmaid looks around but shakes her head, Nope, don't see 'em. Try askin' Barth at the bar, he might know more...
Bhoors Thistledown
Bhoors makes his way to the bar. "Fun night this group can get rowdy. Just they way I like. I was hoping you could help me out. Friend of mine was here the other night. Fancy cat hung out with an aristocrat. His old girl is worried sick. I was hoping I could find out where he went." Bhoors leans in, "He's one that I imagine might go home with another lady if it came down to it, but streets ain't been safe of late either. Any where I could look."

The funny thing is that in my other game, one of the PCs approached the barkeep in the guise of Floon's young wife! XD
The barkeep shakes his head, Them two drank and played a few rounds of Three-Dragon Ante 'afore leaving around midnight. Five dark-dressed boys followed them out. They ain't been back since, but I hear them dark boys spend a fair bit o' their time at a warehouse on Candle Lane.
Bhoors Thistledown
"I'm hoping such a warehouse can't be missed or has a number."
Bhoors Thistledown
Bhoors returns to the others. "Good news. I got a lead on unsavory types that might have followed Floon out."
Amelia Zera Rose
well that's good. Honestly I ain't against a bit O action ifin' it comes to it. An' ifin' we gotta deal with them sorts then that hazard pay can come inta' the deal fer us.
Bhoors Thistledown
"Barkeep seems to think that some lads who followed Floon and Neverember out work out of a warehouse nearby on Candle Lane. Should be easy to find."
Marquez
Eying the game of cards, Marquez asks "I presume dees mean I will not be de honey in de trap?"
Bhoors Thistledown
"Not yet. If the landscape of our plan changes this much between the table and the bar imagine how much more so a few blocks over to Candle Lane." He smirks.

Sorry, I was waiting to see if you guys were going to do a little more RP, then got distracted. Will move things along!
You all head off looking for this warehouse...
Gloom envelops a narrow alley as dark as a dungeon — and as odorous as one, too. Nearly all the streetlamps have been smashed. The only light that pierces the darkness is a faint flickering from down the lane, like a distant candle.
A warehouse is directly across from the candle, with a gate out front, surrounding a yard full of crates.

"Got a bad feeling about this."
Amelia Zera Rose
sorry all, finals kept me from the real world
Amelia will be on her toes, but seems nonchalant
hmmm, maybe, but it may lead to some fun, just keep on her toes, ifn' someone what found our guy finds us, well, they did half the work for us in that case eh?
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damine Nithrissa
"Yeah, this place is, ah, definitely a little spooky," Damine shuddered, pulling out her sword which hummed with a faint energy. "I dunno, let's just hope the guy's still alive at least. I know I wouldn't want to be the one to break it to Volo that his, uh, friend is dead."
She then moves up to the gate, checking to see if it was locked.
Marquez
Marquez regards his companions and smirks. ”Bad feeling eh? As long as there are no trolls, things will be bueno.”
Marquez follows Damine up to the gate. ”Seniora, may I cast a spell on you?”
Nodding Marquez’s hand moves in an intricate gesture and as a dark swirling energy circles his hand, he reaches out and touches Damine’s forehead. The energy transfers into Damine filling her with vigor and a feeling of invincibility. False Life 2nd lvl1d4 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12 Temporary Hit Points.
- if not, he will cast the spell on himself.
He then draws his blade and prepares for danger.
Bhoors Thistledown
Bhoors appraises the situation quietly "Muggers with a hide out on a dark street during a gang war. What's the chance we aren't already noticed?" He smirks, "How do we want to play this."
Damine Nithrissa
Damine blushes a bit (though it's hard to tell against the red hue of her skin) as Marquez approaches her with the spell and replies, "Only if you promise we can get dinner later." She winks playfully as she allows him to touch her forehead. You can tell she has absolutely no fear with whatever spell you might be conjuring up, having dabbled in some darker magics herself.
As soon as the energy flows through her, she gasps in shock at just how how amazing she felt now. "Wow! I mean...I just...feel so GOOD now. You're amazing!"
Ahem. Eyes on the mission, Damine! Don't get distracted so easily!
"I mean, ahhhh, thanks!" she says, turning around to face the gate with her sword out at the ready. She then turns to Bhoors and tilts her head, suggesting, "I dunno, is anyone pretty stealthy? Maybe they could scout the place out before we jump into some sort of trap?"

Bhoors looks at Marquez and Damine and he rolls his eyes. Why am I not flirting? That's weird. . . I miss Shal. I hope she is safe.
"In this we have the benefit of no heavily armed bruisers. We may miss them if this turns south but outside of the gnome I am going to guess this is not the first time being sneaky has been a calling."
"I suggest thinning out not splitting up. I am going to take stab that Amelia knows her way around a window. We will scout the perimeter keep someone on blind corners and pick our entry." He shrugs, "We might also find their sentries."
If it wasn't fully clear. Bhoors is proposing looking for a window If there are any or to pick an entrance by scouting the outside of the building. By thinning out we won't be clumped up but we will all be on the same side of the building. Meaning if we are on the South side of the building someone is at the South east corner looking east, someone is on the South west corner looking west while the others can get a look at anything on the South side of interest. Assuming we don't learn anything we simply go to the next side in similar fashion. Till we run into trouble or can make an informed decision on the best entry would be.
Reuleaux
At Bhoor's insinuation that only the gnome would be accustomed to stealthy endeavors, everyone glanced around instinctively for a witty retort...but wait? Just where the hell was Reuleaux anyways? Last he spoke he was smoking that weird Underdark weed in the bar a few blocks away...
Oh. Yeah. That's him.
Dangling upside down from a 5 ft length of rope at his ankles was Reu. Apparently he has spent the last hour or so fashioning some kind of brass batwing assemblage and is taking the device out for a spin, unfurling and contracting the mechanical wings again and again...a strange look in his eye...as he writes tirelessly in a little notebook, his ink bottle balanced precariously under his belt buckle.
He startles a bit when everyone turns in his direction simultaneously, crashing with a surprising *boing* sound on the cobblestone as he falls, coughing up some nasty purple phlegm and hoarsely murmuring "...curious new thoughts have just occurred to me! We should talk immediately! But nevermind I'll save it for later!" taking position and muffling his movements...

This is the first time that I have had more than one bard in the party... and it is also rare for the bards in my parties to actually USE their bardic inspiration to inspire! XD
Will try to post at lunch... ^_^

Damine gives a thumbs up as she moves stealthily around to the other corner of the building and doing their sweep of the perimeter.

Wow.

There are three points of entry that you can make out from the bottom floor. The front gates are not locked, but you think that the hinges probably will squeal if you pull them open, but a little lamp oil ought to do the trick. Part of the high rolls will mean that you thought of that beforehand and happened to have something to help grease the hinges...
You all collectively discover the following:
The most obvious point of entry is the large warehouse rolling door where loading and unloading takes place. That is probably the loudest entry point. There is a large padlock on the southern edge.
Next to the padlock is a smaller entry door, also locked, though you do not think that it is too complicated a device. Those inclined to use thieves' tools think it is easily pick-able. It has a sliding peephole that can probably be opened from the inside.
The third entry point a window to the North of the yard, though it seems painted over, so you cannot see in. The window also seems latched, though someone with the right tools could probably trip the latch with a slim strip of metal...
Amelia Zera Rose
Amelia whispers to the others once they regroup. If ye lot want, I bet I can easily slip us in through that there small door. or if ye want, maybe tha' windo', either way, shan't be too much a problem fer me I'd wager. Or, ifn' ye think it would be better, we could a uh.. whats it called, a.. uhhhh. Amelia looks down in thought for a few seconds before speaking in a normal volumed voice, A diversion! thats tha' word! She curses at her minor slip up, Any way, we could have a couple O' us sneak in, an' anotha' couple distract some O' the folk at the front. Though, that's hopin' they don't randomly try nothin' on some lost folk lookin' for directions. She looks to the others for their thoughts.
Bhoors Thistledown
Bhoors closes his eyes at Amelia's raised voice centering himself, but no other reaction. "Any chance you saw anything inside." He shrugs, "I would go for the window away from the main door keep moving quiet. Maybe they are sleeping it off or out and about."

window it is.
