Menas is very wounded and will spend a standard action and 2 ki points to use wholeness of body to heal 9hp. He will then spend another ki point as a swift action to gain +4 dodge AC.

I'm currently at all of 15hp, but I have 26 TAC this round for incorporeals.

One of the things flies through the room and reaches out to Menas as enora and Deaglan swipe at it. Deaglan misses, but Enora burns it a bit. Unfortunatly, it doens't stop the thing from reaching almost into Menas's heart, and he feels his strength drain away. As he slumps to the ground, his mind is filled with a swirl of nightmares...

I believe that leaves poor Menas at 2 Hp from death! Someone might try to shove a potion down his throat or something.... Sorry Menas. :(

Loxx moves over Menas so that he hand Dealgan can have the best position for a counterattack and then readies to try to crush the next one that comes.

As the THING flies in to attack Loxx again, Loxx swings for the fences and slams the creature hard... it's not enough to kill it though, and it reaches out to touch him!

Enora readies her staff of Ember to shoot two scorching rays at any appearing creature.

GM, Holy smite is a burst, so I should be able to catch them both in it. Therefore it also does not need to be readied, but I should be able to just cast it.

AoO: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (3) + 17 = 20 Damage: 3d6 + 18 ⇒ (3, 5, 1) + 18 = 27

The problem is that it's a burst, and bursts stop at walls, so if you just activate it now on your turn, you'll actually catch neither of them. Since neither of them are in the room with you.

Menas bleeds a little as Loxx swipes at the thing as it flies way. Deaglan holds a holy bomb in his hand, ready to trigger it, as Enora prepares her staff.

The creature flies out of the wall, this time going straight for Deaglan! Deaglan is ready for it though, and blasts the thing with holy light!

It screams in pain and clutches at where's eyes should be! It tries to continue it's flight as Deaglan smashes it as it draws close. It swipes at where Deaglan was...

Deaglan feels it try to burn his soul, but he just barely fends it off. The creature however howls in it's blindness, and doesn't fly away!

Sweet luck on that blind roll! Kill the thing! You've almost got it and it's buddy!

Loxx momentarily removes a hand from his staff. He feels the power of Torag flow through him through his connection to Dornarus and some of his wounds close.

Using one use of Blessing of the Atoned as a swift action to use lay on hands on himself as an 8th level paladin.

He then puts a hand back on the staff and lays into the creature that didn't leave.

And my dice decide to roll like crap. Hopefully it being blinded lowered its AC enough.

I should be at 19 hp (51 damage) after the lay on hands. It looks like you forgot to apply the last damage I took to my total. It's not much, but 19 is better than 4 and may keep me alive.

Loxx resoundingly beats the one over the head that couldn't leave... but it's random twitches make it surprisingly difficult to hit. Still, something blind doesn't dodge very well, and all his attacks hit, if just barely. But he is relentless, and finally the thing dissipates into swirls of screaming ether that dissipates from the room.

As if on que, the other one comes screaming back at Loxx!

Menas stumbles to his feet, "An early celebration can lead to an early grave. Stay on guard until we are clear of this place." he says as he hoists the body of Minmax and Takkit off the ground. "Thank you for closing my wounds, I can continue my journey to become stronger."

Side note, I got a developer to confirm that new options for a grappler to preform on a grappled target are arriving in the new Martial Arts Handbook next month. I'm excited to have some alternative playstyle aside from pin-locking a boss and ruining fun encounters.

Outside the tower, Zonaladin sits and waits, staring at the pathfinders as they come out, and he looks at the dead bodies of Takkit and Menas.

He sniffs the air and leans closer... it does not take a master of reading a room to tell he's not overall happy to see them, despite letting them pass earlier.

You reek of foul magic.... one might think that maybe you weren't in there to stop it...

He bares his fangs a little, issuing a obvious challenge.

Perhaps you are cultists in disguise. Perhaps I was to hasty in allowing you in... show me what you have found! Before I decide that maybe I should just save myself the headache of indecision and just eat you now.

"Well yeah, we were there to stop the cultists, because they were after the same things we were. See? But they wanted to use the rune plates to summon bad things. We wanted them to study them. Or at least the people who sent us want to study them."

Enora, you are our best at Diplomacy I hate to say. Both Menas and I have Charisma penalties. Takkit was our face and he's dead. I pretty much have no skills that are useful at convincing anyone of anything.

That is true... I just am really really suppose to not let anyone get away with anything... but you do seem like just and righteous folk... and I'm SO BORED of guarding this tower. Here is what I am thinking. I imagine guarding this place is very lonely work. I could offer to release my leshy to serve him. However, leshies only speak Sylvan and Druidic. As a last resort I could offer to "teach" the dragon Druidic, but as I'd be intentionally breaking the druid code I would need the more expensive version of atonement (in addition to having to pay to replace my familiar). I'd be willing to do it if it would get the dragon to let us go however. I'd rather not fight a dragon.

I, on the other hand, would love to grapple a dragon, but lets hope it doesn't come to that anyway.

I almost considered becoming a sin monk during this scenario by accepting the power from the globe thing, but tetori and sin monk don't stack so it would be a lot of work to flesh out the rebuild.

Karethia meets the Team as they leave Desgard’s Thousand Columns, and she teleports them back to Heidmarch Manor for debriefing. Venture-Captain Sheila Heidmarch asks to see the rule plates immediately. She is overjoyed and informs the Team that the time to end Krune’s threat to Varisia once and for all approaches and that the Teams’ assistance at that time will be crucial.

PRIMARY SUCCESS CONDITION!
If the PCs recover the genuine rune plates and return them to Sheila Heidmarch, they each receive 1 Prestige Point for completing their primary mission: SUCCESS! 1 Prestige Point!

SECONDARY SUCCESS CONDITION!
If the PCs do not kill the Dragon Zonaladin, they gain a second Prestige point: SUCCESS! 2 Prestige Points!

How much gold is on the Chronicle? I'll give my entire share towards the raise dead. 24pp is quite a lot more valuable imo than the 5000 or so gold.

I'll look into registering us for gameday, I'm not 100% how to do it but I'll try.

Also, Takkit, Menas, and Minmax, if you could let me know whether your using prestige or gold to pay Deaglan for materials, I'd appreciate it.

See above. :) Minmax should pay for it himself, and his teammates are under no obligation to give him anything, even if it means he is perma dead.

However, Menas has decided to be magnanimous and give him a large chunk of gold, in large part because his class means that he does not require as many items or trinkets to be relevant (As we saw!) since all his power comes from his class levels. So, rather than sitting on the gold, he's donated it to a fellow. It's a rather sweet gesture. :)

I'm lawful good! Sidenote: I've got a level 7 Champion of Irori with vow of poverty that pretty much does that all the time.

It's a gesture I very much appreciate! I could use the prestige, but it's very kind of Menas to offer his hard-won gold. It allows me to save my prestige for the next death! ;-)

Also, against my better judgment, I have bought and scribed a scroll of emergency force sphere to save my pale butt in the future. I bow to the wisdom of the party - it will probably come in very, very handy.
