Zander Cogvalt

Zander says, "Welp, might as well mount up for the journey. With the dangers of the wastes it will be safer for me to ride on the back of Copperbottom. Besides with the modifications I have given him he should be able to keep pace with the rest of the party."
Zander climbs into the howdah on the back of his golem and syncs himself with the golem using his empathic link to control the golem's movements. He also pulls out his rifle and makes sure he has a round in the chamber ready to go.
"This Silt Pond looks as good a place as any to search. Probably at least some of the reagents can be found there."
James Zenfon

James seems to take the talk from the others as agreement. Or, at least, a lack of disagreement.
"Fair enough," he says, he voice still even. "I'll take point."
He unlimbers his shield and mounts it on his left arm. Then he walks north, his right hand empty.
His eyes begin scanning the area ahead.

Emile La Fuente
The instant the party leaves town, Emile removes her cloak and lets her spider-leg and barbed-wire infested hair twitch in the open air. Her unnatural pale-green doll-like face with its wide-slit mouth are just as clearly visible as her night-black eyes, which appear to have pupils and irises modeled after buttons.
Her neck is too long and narrow to be natural... but then again, what would people expect? Silver had already pegged her for a fallen, anyway.
She fixes her posture and walks in a more dignified manner.
"Better. Much better."
James Zenfon

Movement at the corner of his eye catches his attention, and he looks over just as Emile is fully revealing herself. He stumbles a bit as his feet skip a beat, and though his mirrored eyes can't reflect shock, his mouth gapes open an inch and his paces slows. "Lady," he says, his voice still even, though sounding a bit more hoarse, "what the hell are you?"
He keeps walking as he listens to her answer.

James stands a ways apart from Jimara, still scanning the area, but not picking up anything. Still, he respects her as a warrior. "What? Is it a trap or something?"

Silver looks at emile wth quite some concern
"What is this I dont even..." Silver clears his throath while trying to keep his cool [b]"I apologize miss... One could say Im not really used to such an exotic beauty, still I hope dont feel insulted for my intial reaction..."
[b] Now back on bussiness I have noticed some kind of cover in the sand next to the tre, it seems like a clue we should inspect it at least"[b]
Silver draws his rifle while going to the cover and the tree. He looks for anything suspicious or if any traps have been set.

James sees the pit reveal itself, but, sensing no change to the tactical situation, makes no move, keeping his vigil.
His ATA-C starts running calulations on how hard it would be to cut the tree down and haul the whole thing back, or it the lady would be content with just a few branches. He remembers asking how much she wanted, but can't recall her answer.
Jimara Simultina
Jimara hacks off a couple of pieces to study and then pushes the tree down to assist.
She then pulls out her compass again to get a bearing of where there next objective could be in relation to where they are.

James Zenfon

As he leaves the tree for the giant golem to carry, James calls down a detailed HUD on the next two finds.
Ironbloom mushrooms would be located in one of the few, deep, damp grottos left in the wastes. I do know of these grottos other then that they exist.
Rat's tail is something that the Sand Stalker, a mutant who lurks ten miles west and north of here might know of. Be careful she isn't known for being nice or friendly and she will ask for something in return for her knowledge... Finding her may take some time, she is nomadic but generally moves around a ten-20 mile radius.
"Let's keep going another five miles to the NorthWest. Hopefully we'll come across this 'Sand Stalker'. On the way keep an eye out for damp grottos. Let's go."

'Target acquired. Firing solution calculated.'
James visually tracks the fleeing figure, but when he sees the Drow also has a lock but doesn't fire, he figures there's no need to go hot when she hasn't.
He minimizes the ATA-C and brings up the C-ALC.
'For maximum transport load, take the max press load, add a zero, and cut in half.'
"If he can lift 175, he can drag half of 1750, or 875. That should be good for a dessicated tree."
That done, he moves his feet NorthWest, somehow feeling that he is now someone else's shadow, whether he wants it or not.
He keeps his eyes peeled for any other trackers.

James sighs. He knew should've gotten that patch before leaving.
FYI:"A character can generally push or drag along the ground as much as five times his maximum load."

As you all move forward you have clear sight of the objective but it will take one day to get their at your present pace... You come across a small, stagnant pool of water and see a faint glow under some rocks...
Night falls and makes the glowing even more obvious...
Make the survivial check only if you lift the rocks up, Jimara your previous survival check means that effectively you won't get lost for the journey to the next objective. You will need to roll a new one for this.
You find Glowmold, a form of mutant mold found in the Mana Wastes that can serve as a light source for three days before failing.

Zander Cogvalt says, "Copperbottom never sleeps my friend. As a golem he does not the sleep like us non-metal folk need. Still I'll have to shut him down if I want to change his installed abilities although currently they should be sufficient. As for Copperbottom acting as a watchguard he can do so to a minor extent so long as my command is specific. Problem is he is not very perceptive or intelligent without me guiding him. I do have a spell that can improve his capabilities but unfortunately it only lasts one hour at my current magical competence. Not useful enough for our purposes."
He looks to Copperbottom and says, "Copperbottom look around and yell out "Danger!" as loud as you can if something other than those present approaches the camp."
Copperbottom nods and begins looking around.
(OOC: This could be troublesome though considering Copperbottom will follow the command literally. He could yell out danger if something like a rat came running by. Hence why there is a Golemguard spell that can allow more complex guard-duty commands. He also has a perception of +0 so he is not very adept. He does have darkvision 60 feet and low-light vision though)

You all setup camp near the silt pond...
As the sun rises overhead you awaken groggily...
A note from now on whenever you make camp/rest an "encounter roll" will be made, this is to simulate the dangers of the Mana Wastes and may be far above the group's CR... In other words running may be advisable...
James Zenfon

Noted =)
James makes sure to check the pond for Ironbloom mushrooms. His onboard thesaurus lists 'grotto' as 'cave'. He's not really sure if the pond qualifies, but he was told something about 'damp' so he'll check anyway.

Emile La Fuente
Emile had slept the entire night with unnatural eyes wide open, and awoke to move like a spider through the group. Unless stopped, she helps everyone clean up camp without their permission, binding bedrolls and folding blankets.
She also grabs a couple of bugs off of their persons with some sort of muttered apology.
Jimara Simultina
You shouldn't have given that away. A good gotcha is always awesome.
Jimara wakes up and cracks open her canned ration with her dagger and directly applies it to the little fire she started. She cooks it and then eats it with her dagger.
Afterwards she looks around the pond for the mushrooms... Knowledge Nature 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24, or Survival 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
