Who are we still waiting on?
I think we've all moved by now.
Kwin and Kol: got outside.
Harry: crashed into some guards.
Nimos: stumbled out of the building.
Merry: is taking it easy.
Miyako: outside, but may or may not have shards of glass penetrating her body?
Maybe GM's a bit busy at the moment? :o

![]() |

It would be great if Miyako would also get away with it, but she's got even less of a chance than Kwin and Kol had.
Though I have one more plan, may the guards see through her Bluff :)

Kwin Longclaw |

Other than the "trying to get away" part (you were dancing...) everything you said was pretty much the straight-up truth. And it's not like you got into heavy fighting, either... you pretty much were just a spectator. So I think you should have a good shot.
Plus crocodile tears are endearing (unlike Kwin's mad panic followed by righteous indignation)! :o)

![]() |

I have a feeling my back-up plan will fail as well xD

![]() |

Nooo! Harry!!! >.<
@GM: Not missing target makes it even more sound xD

Kwin Longclaw |

Well, you and I still have to get through the questioning...
EDIT: Oops, didn't notice GM had responded before I got around to posting. Let's go with his answer. :oD

![]() |

I didn't expect the gas to take effect with a Fort save 18 xD
I'm now dazed for 1 round, but when is my next 'round' when weren't really taking turns?

![]() |

Oh that's neat :)

![]() |

I should have run instead of jump back in... >.<
Wanted to try climbing back out with a gas can to throw the guards off xD

![]() |

Yeah, that's also one of those things I realized when already inside the gas filled kitchen. No chance to take a deep breath of 'normal' air there xD
[Sits down with popcorn] Well, let's see what happens next :P

Kwin Longclaw |

The same guard hesitates at Nimo's boldness and stammers Uuuuuuuh, N-now l-let us tie you up so we can bring you in for questioning He presents a rope.
"Now are you going to come quietly, or do I have to sh*t my pants?" :o)

![]() |

Kol sure sounds old, with his hip gear acting up xD You need a cane? :P

Kwin Longclaw |

If there's no guard to check in with, then yes. Going straight to the room. I concur with Kol's assessment.

GM: |

This hasn't been mentioned b4 (though implied a few time), sometimes I will have you make "knowledge" or "perception" or w/e check if its realy obvious that the character would/should make the check. Other times I will drop hints into things that (if you so choose) you can roll checks for and possible get knowledge.
For this I would prefer you air on the side of rolling more checks when your not sure if a check is needed. Three reasons for this:
1) I can add more detail for you guys specifically and help you out more, role playing is nice but your characters are people, they can think and assess, I don't want to always give them everything if they don't think about it(because not everything is always important). If you notice when you guys add flavor to your dialouge and you mention something which could include a check I have you go ahead and roll it, because your character was thinking about that thing at that point.
2) I will almost always try to make a check not completely worthless, even if the worth is only very minor or simple gives you details that you may not have needed. But I try to incorporate as much as possible.
3) This campaign is mostly to BUILD the world. Yes its for role playing and I want you guys to have fun, but much of this is world building for myself as well, so the more things that you "notice" the more I can add to the world.

Kwin Longclaw |

Sorry, I guess I was confused. Based on this...
I Imagine there isn't much more to see, from this scene. Finish up with Harry/Nimos and then we can move onto the next one.
... and the fact that Harry/Nimos have been resolved, I thought this scene was done. I was just roleplaying to fill some time while you got back up to speed from your work thing. I was expecting a simple "You go upstairs and retrieve your gear. The next morning..." sort of thing. Didn't realize the scene was still active per se. I'll adjust my actions accordingly.
As to the question, no complaints from me.

![]() |

I like the campaign a lot thus far! Can't wait to wake up, haha.
No critics, all seems fair :)

GM: |

@Kwin As I said always adding to the world, if for some reason you had decided to just "go somewhere else" there wouldn't have been anything to add. However as you decided to go back inside, now I can add so that the NEXT time I run this It will be there :D
(The vast majority of details I post are on the fly what would be appropriate for what I want to happen, very little other then combat specifics (such as the tankard variable) is set in stone)
Another thing is I had "planned" on all of you getting knocked out by gas, however it obviously didn't turn out that way :P Though that mostly comes from my dislike of story-walls (stuff you can't overcome no matter how hard you try just because the GM wants it to happen)

![]() |

@GM: Nice, you dislike story-walls as well :) That gives us a lot more freedom, which I really do like :P

Kwin Longclaw |

(Merrilin is dropping out sadly, I'm currently looking to see if anyone wants to join in at the jail as a fellow drunken patron, if not we will have 5 people, if you guys have any friends who might wanna join let me know)
1) I'm confused, I thought Merrilin was a GMPC? Seeing as how he wasn't:
2) Awww!
3) As many as were chomping at the bit to get into this game, I don't think you'll be lacking potential players! However:
4) I'm in several sessions, two of which have some absolutely stellar players -- so much so that I feel honored to be gaming with them. I think any of them would do you proud and be very helpful from roleplaying/world-building/playtesting angles. If you'd like, I can post a general announcement in the two related Discussion threads with a link to Recruitment/etc. here. If you want me to do that:
5) Will you want the newcomer to run Merrilin, or will they be free to build their own character concept?
As for the "now" versus "future" question, I'll defer to Kol. As long as Kwin can at least dull the throbbing in his face (and grab a few hours sleep if possible, though not necessary since he has no magic to refresh), he's good. So, whatever the droid wants to do is fine by me.
(I'd like an opportunity to drop by the jail in the morning before things move too far along, though.)
Diplomacy roll, in case you need one...
[dice=""Hey buddy, where's the nearest decent tavern?"]d20[/dice]
Hmm, wherever he ends up, it looks like the drinks will be overpriced and watered down. :o(

K-01 'Kol' |

Hmm. Here, let me try finding you a place to drink, Kwin. I can't possibly do worse.
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (20) - 4 = 16
[Edit:]...
I have no words.
[Edit, Edit:] I think spending a little time in another tavern might be good while we wait for the others to recover and gain their bearings in the 'future time'. When it looks like its a good time for us to visit the jail, the GM can teleport us there easily.

GM: |

@Kwin, yes and no, Merrilin was a GMPC, but it was a friend who played him, he wanted to try and get into pathfinder so I was helping him out, but his schedule got too cluttered so he dropped out. The new person can run whoever they want, I don't want someone to have to run someone else's character, plus they will just be "one of the brawlers" so its an easy transition.

![]() |

@GM: Is the "future" part later on the day, or the next morning?
Also, I might know someone who'd like to join the campaign. I could, like Kwin suggested before me, link him to the recruitment page if you wish?

Captain Riley |

Later in the day, a little after sunset.
I found one person, however if you guys have 1 person each you especially want to join or think would be perfect have them see if their interested and then PM me. Combat is a lot easier when its play-by-post (I'm used to tabletop where having more then 5 is very difficult but this went rather smoothly so I'd like to see what I can handle)

Kwin Longclaw |

I didn't have one specific person in mind so since Miyako and you both do, we should go with that.
And: Welcome, Himuro! Wow, this town is just crawling with kitsune... and most of us crazed troublemakers, to boot. Kwin feels right at home, haha!

Kwin Longclaw |

Weeeiiiird my posts made today/yesterday, is anyone else having problems with paizo?
Everyone was. I'm told there was a power failure in Redmond. When things came back up there was apparently some corruption in Paizo's servers. I personally watched things go from "store unavailable" through "server goblins" to getting hung in a loop loading the forum, to not remembering my (I presume "anyone's") account, to "service unavailable" at the home page.
I suspect they struggled valiantly in an effort to get things fixed -- like, all day or longer -- before throwing in the towel and restoring from an older backup.
All posts/changes made after that backup was made would be missing, so anyone in multiple games should check them all just to be safe.
Fun times. I just hope they went back far enough to predate the corruption.
And my empathy and respect to the people who worked on the problem. I'm in IT: Been there, done that, know what it feels like.

![]() |

I've had this before on another forum. Really sucks when it happens, but let's hope it's solved now :S Currently I'm checking all my campaigns to see what's missing.

K-01 'Kol' |

Yep, server derps happen. Glad to see it was resolved relatively quickly. Anyway, welcome, Kyras, to the game. Enjoy your stay. I know I have.
I'm guessing Kwin and I are currently chilling at another bar (hopefully the one I rolled for rather than the one Kwin found :p). Heh, perhaps we can be Kyras' welcoming committee?

Kwin Longclaw |

... hopefully the one I rolled for rather than the one Kwin found :p
Yes, please! And well met, Kyras.

Kyras LeBlanc |

Thanks for the welcome.
The 4d6 weren't as favorable to me compared to the ones i saw earlier, so went with the 25pt buy.
I've heard some funny facts about bars, gasses and jails...ending me up here. Looking forward to it.

Kyras LeBlanc |

Haha, i'm curious as to how the two of us ended up there.
Allright, let me get to writing.
Edit: we were with 2, but my companion disappeared the moment i would have gone unconcious.

Kwin Longclaw |

Haha, i'm curious as to how the two of us ended up there.
That's easy: "Wrong place, wrong time." :o)
Kol, just to be clear: The "yes please" was in regards to the choice of tavern/drink quality only. If you have any ideas regarding the prisoners -- or doing anything else in general -- don't hesitate to nudge the two of us in that direction.
