Breakneck is again stunned by the tech use to trasport them knowing that Teleportation had been one of the powers being studied by Project Rebirth this is far more advanced. Now very worried by what he has been put into, he think, I'll just - wait the girl is talking what her voice sounds familar. Is she the girl with the demon motif? What does she want with me?

He become very tense and watches her closely, behind the concelement of his goggles.

Nick Fury: "Great, no questions, movin' along"

He says obviously not caring what any of you had to say at this point.

He escorts everyone past the computers into what sort of looks like a boardroom of a college professors room. You can tell he is a man of authority as people move out of his way immediately as he walks through. There are about 20 chairs in the room escalating slowly upwards from the central point.

He walks into the "central point" and stares at everyone expecting them to take a seat.

Female Demon Alias: Alissa Walcnobe

A short, barely audible growl emitted from the base of the woman's neck as her comment was ignored. Its like staring at a brick wall...a demon with any pride at all would be lunging for his throat right now! As Leccia followed along, she had brief daydreams about the numerous ways she could try to kill this man. Still, she didn't act on any of them. The demoness still remembered her own words and fully believed they were the truth...even if her host refused to admit it. Paranoia and caution pushed her rage down to controllable levels. A normal demon would have attacked by now...but a normal demon would have also been slain by now. She could take this blow to her pride in exchange for self-preservation.

Wordlessly, she grabbed a chair and took a seat in the meeting room as her eyes never left Nick Fury.

Anthem smiles as she follows Fury into the room. "Mah, ain't you the charmah." She sits to the side of Fury with the eyepatch, forcing him to turn his head or body if he wants to look at her. "I do believe all this testosterone is giving me tha vapors."

Male Halfling Mesmerist/Sorcerer 6 | AC 22 T 17 FF 14 | HP 54/54 | F +7 R +13 W +17 (19vs MA) | Init +8 | Perc +13

One moment he was eating tortilla chips with spinach dip, then it was a knock at the door? Or was it? There was a flash, and then he was here. Wherever here was. Was he dead? Alex looked around and saw all the computers. He didn't think there were computers in heaven, or hell for that matter. But it had been a while since he had been to church. The crowd that was in the room was led by a man with an eyepatch into a room with a bunch of chairs.

He followed them all in and sat down, looking around at all of the people there. Some had costumes, some had uniforms, some didn't have much of anything. And here he was, in his Hawaiian shirt and gray sweat pants. It also seemed that he had only one sock on. His brown hair was in complete disarray, and not in that fashionable way either. He didn't like meeting new people very often, and it was even worse that he had to meet them looking like this.

He made a mental note. Do not answer the door unless you look professional. Because if you do, you won't want to feel invisible. Some of the ladies who were here were quite attractive as well, that didn't help matters at all. Maybe if he put his head down on the table, they wouldn't talk to him and he could make a second impression of a better nature in the future.

Well, that's not how any of the founding fathers would act, now would it? Caught in slight disarray, they would act with strength, decorum and eloquence. He decided to hold himself erect, practice good posture and smile and look everyone in the eye, as if he meant that this would all happen. And before he knew it, he was the spitting image of Theodore Roosevelt, chest puffed out, ready to take San Jan hill. It would take more than a little disorientation to make ole Teddy falter.

Of course, he only looked like a statue of the former president, but it was the best he could do, and better than his former disheveled self.

Stan knew government when he saw it. Whoever this guy was, he had some clout. He sat next to Anthem and kept his mouth shut.

Nick Furry: "Now.... This where i work. We're called S.H.I.E.L.D. What that stands for is of no importance to you. I have assembled you all here today for what might appear as obvious, if it isn't, well... Perhaps we don't need you. Now, your unique powers can come in handy to an organization like ours. We are concerned in the safety of the United States. There is a threat arising in Rayborn that could be a potential threat to the U.S. His name is "Big Al".

*he pushes a button on a tiny remote, a picture of "Big Al" pulls up as a hologram*

He appears to be a bulbous man (somewhere between king pin and the blob)

Nick Furry: "Now this fat, disgusting man is a known criminal, at least to us. He has been working with Cell Corp., an organization that we theorize may be using technology from a project in WWII known as "Project: Rebirth" to make super humans. What some of saw today was an early attempt at this. His was merely a test run though. We don't know why they are using androids instead of humans nor how Big Al is involved, we just know they. So the question i have for all of you... Are you gonna help us with this? As an incentive..."

He walks over to a side door and opens it, a gust of winds flies and continues as it is a vacuum. You now notice the building you thought you were in is actually an air craft.

He says walking away from the door yelling over the noise:"Theres the door for those of you who don't want to help. And don't be smart and fly out any of you either, it won't help you any"

Blue Star sat down carefully... visions of detention centers and secret experiments dancing in his head. He tried to assess his chances of getting out if push came to shove. Not great... maybe better if everyone bolted at the same time. Still Fury seemed to hold all the cards here.

"So what's the story here then? Are we under arrest, or do you have another reason for this meet and greet?"

Health 70/120, Karma 70 Chart

"I'm in." Stan shrugged.

Male

A little annoyed at this whole situation he takes a seat.
"So your offering us a chance to fry some androids, investigate a potentially evil organization, and take down a "big" shot criminal or jump out that door? Hmm." He acts like hes thinking on it. "I love jumping out of aircraft as much as the next guy but the first choice seems more fun."
He stares at Leccia.I still don't know what her deal is. Why is she after Tyler? Thinking back to the chase.Only someone with something important to hide would run that far and fast.

Female Demon Alias: Alissa Walcnobe

Leccia sat quietly as she listened to the beginning of the briefing. The idea of being a soldier for anyone didn't really sit well. She had joined other demons before but that was just a ragtag bunch of individuals. And this is any different how? Just because they don't come from another plane? As much as she hated to accept this fact, it was true. She could be a team player if she was properly motivated.

The information about the gang trying to breed super humans peaked her curiosity, So...this Big Al, might desire Tyler dead for the sake of this experiment...or it could be something more personal and basic. Either way, if I want my mark, I'll have to deal with this mortal. She hated to play along with Fury's ultimate plan and the open door gambit really didn't do much for trust issues. She did her best not to flinch at the rushing air. She had been flying before under her own power, air pressure was nothing new to her.

Some arrogant and annoyed side of Leccia was half-tempted to call Fury's bluff and jump out of the aircraft just to be difficult. She puffed up her ego thinking that she could survive a fall from any height. The demoness had a bad track record of lying to herself. Still, she reluctantly had to respect the man's gall. She could see their paths were linked...intentionally or not. With a deep frown she shouted, "I have my reasons for doing this. Now if you are done with the theatrics, can we get down to it." She was curt and to the point. As far as Leccia was concerned, it wasn't anyone's business that she had numerous reasons for joining this task force. They ranged from her own morbid curiosity, a hidden respect for some of those assembled and a desire to pay back imagined slights against her from Big Al.

Theodore Roosevelt did not look happy. He crossed his arms and looked at Fury. "Kidnapping and forced labor upon threat of death? I thought we did away with slavery in this country."

Alex's gut was doing backflips as he realized what he was about to do, but Teddy wouldn't back down. He stood up and started toward the door. "If you had asked me to come politely, I would have. If you had offered me an entry level salary, I'd go for it. If you told me that our country needed me, I would do anything within my power. But this? I'm sorry. People who are compelled to work will never work hard."

He put his hand on the door, the wind blowing around him like a tempest. He wondered if he could survive the fall for a moment, and figured the worst thing about this would be the cold and perhaps the lack of air. He instinctively hardened up his body, bracing himself for the plunge. He looked down, but didn't recognize anything. "Before I go, you don't have anyone who could port me back to my apartment? I got a shift in four hours, and I'm not sure exactly where we are."

Breakneck walks up to Monument. Addressing Nick Fury, in cold tones, "I agree with what this person said. You are a terrorist, making such a threat, even if you are bluffing, makes you a villain; I could never trust you. You may feel that you need to do this because of greater evils in the world, you would be wrong, you are making yourself the world's greatest evil. Tally-Ho." Breakneck jumps.

Withdrawn due to GM/Player personality differences. Looks like a good group of players, hope you have fun, but I do not stay in games where I'm not. Bye! Campaign exit. No further posts will be made by Breakneck.

Female Demon Alias: Alissa Walcnobe

Sad to see breakneck go but in retrospect, its a good thing none of us know his secret identity or else a few of us would be flying out that door after him.

The demoness in disguise stared blankly at the man turned stone. She had noticed his presence when the group was teleported up to this ship but honestly dismissed him as part of the background. His former attire really didn't do him any justice or win him any points with her. When he started to shape-change a twinge of annoyance did run through her, Bloody copycats stealing my act...at least he has a unique look to his change. She wasn't quite as well versed on history as a normal American might be. The face of Theodore Roosevelt looked like just another face to her.

Still, when he finished his speech, Leccia did something unexpected. She began laughing loudly. The irish red head held onto her stomach as the amused sensation ran throughout her entire body. She struggled not to fall out of her seat. It was even loud enough to compete with wind from the open door. After a few seconds, she calmed down but a perpetual grin never left her face, This is a riot! I'm guessing this guy plans to harden himself and hope to survive the fall. He's a mortal with guts...and since he put me in a good mood...I'll try to preserve those guts a little while longer. She was about intervene when another of the assembled made his point known and did the unthinkable and jumped. The woman in the suit stopped smiling and frankly arched a brow, One of them actually jumped? Go figure. Well...he might have a way to survive it but I doubt it. Far as I could see, he didn't do much in that last battle anyway. If he's super important the human cyclops here probably has a back up plan so he doesn't fall to his death. Her tone changed from the mirth she felt to a sobering one, If I'm going to stop a precession of jumpers, now is the time.

She stood up from her seat and sighed at Fury, "You know, I would make even more fun at your incompetent staff than I am about to but I will keep my insults to a minimum. I assume you have a net of some sort out there anyway." She saw this as a chance to poke fun at him and it was a little hard to not take full advantage of it. She strolled over to the walking Roosevelt statue and placed a hand on his shoulder. She made sure her grip was firm enough that he didn't accidentally go tumbling out of the plane, "Although it was not under the best circumstances, the annoying one's followers did ask me. I assume the rest of us were asked too. One man made his decision, so now its your turn. Still, if asking is all it will take, I am asking you now. For what its worth, I like men with guts and do not want to see any more run out on me. The jerk's methods aside, he has a point. This threat needs to be beaten down and apparently he saw something in you. And I am certain with this technology, one-eye over there has the means to supply us. So, will you please assist?"

After asking as politely as she could, she glanced at Fury whom she just mocked a bit during her little speech, "Oh, I'm so sorry for the nicknames." She spoke sweetly but clearly didn't mean a word of it. She continued eager to send her point home, "...but your troops forgot to mention your name to me so I suppose I had no choice in that regard." From the look in her eyes, she had dozens more comments to make but choose to keep them quiet. She let go of Monument's shoulder and left the decision up to him. With that, she simply returned to her seat, I did my good deed for the century. If he still jumps now, then good riddance.

Male Halfling Mesmerist/Sorcerer 6 | AC 22 T 17 FF 14 | HP 54/54 | F +7 R +13 W +17 (19vs MA) | Init +8 | Perc +13

"Well, sure. I guess." Alex grinned with the president's face and rubbed the back of his head in a bit of embarrassment. To be honest, he was a bit relieved. He allowed the nice lady to persuade him to return to his seat. "I suppose not asking was a bit of an oversight in my particular case. Good thing I didn't jump to conclusions."

As breakneck jumps he falls... But not as far as he thought. He drops approximately a foot as he hits some sort of floor... Fury let's out a laugh

"HAHA" he says

"That one gets me goin' everytime!"

I had this set up for anyone that had jumped and i was going to make a speech about how Fury doesn't trust people who blindly mind threats and are willing to be captured without at least some fight. And how he liked there spunk and how all that was needed etc... But considering this is how breakneck chose to drop out, i have to change my plan... So this next bit may be a bit lame, but i gotta work with what my players give me :P

When breakneck stands up he disappears into a flash of...

Nick Fury:"I said it was the exit..." He says with a laugh

Nick Fury:"But your all far to valuable for me to let any of you be harmed" He says getting straight faced

Nick Fury: "But never the less.. He is a deserter. Our team needs strong members that are willing to fight and be strong for the cause, for their COUNTRY."

He says adding extra emphases on "country".

Nick Fury:"Now that we weeded out the weak ones... I think its safe to say we have a good strong team, don't you all? Now all i ask of my team is simply this... Continue doing what you did today, its all i ask. Fight this menace as a team. I'm sure for they will do this sort of thing at least a few more times to perfect their project, but until then, you have to show them how their "projects" are weak. And when the time comes that we track down this menaces home base, we will have you all on the front lines giving em' a nice big smile for me. So what do you all say? If your ready, we can transport you down. There doesn't seem to be any "Big Al" business nor Cell Corp. but i want you all to investigate everyone little that goes wrong in Rayborn. Just like now, a group of thugs are holding up the local bank. And i would like the newly formed team to stop. You can all get acquainted later."

He passes out small walky talky looking devices.

Nick Fury:"These are how i will communicate with you. When your all ready give the word and i will send you down and give you any useful info i can. As i will in later "disputes" as well"

"So basically... Keep doing what we were already doing?" Blue star was less than amused by this man's 'jokes.'

{b]"What are you giving to this little project of yours? I'm not a fan of coming when called or jumping through hoops..."

Nick Fury: "Well you should be doing most things i ask anyways"

He leans in: "I'm just helpin'" He says with a grin

Male

Taking a device."This won't fry if i use my power will it?"

Nick Fury:"They are specially designed for people of... your nature."

Female Demon Alias: Alissa Walcnobe

While a few were rightfully upset about the trick played on all of them, Leccia laughed a little to herself. She felt vindicated and after her horrible day up to this point, this feeling was wonderful to her. She had already suspected he had some plan in mind for the flightless mortals but wasn't worried about it. Apparently, she could somehow appreciate Fury's sense of 'humor'.

As she took a communication device, the demoness in disguise mused, "So this is our dry run as a team...well, let us break this down quickly for our new stony ally..." An impish grin formed upon the irish woman's face as she suddenly pointed Conduit, "He is a yapping spark plug..." She turned towards Blue Star and continued, "...He is a laser with legs..." Her hand moved towards the standard, "...He beats people with a stick..." She gestured to Anthem and paused briefly, "...aside from flying, I don't know what she does..." Leccia seemed to be a good time with her brief run down of witnessed powers.

With no one left save herself, her knowing grin never faded, "As for me..." She snapped her fingers and small trail of fire suddenly rose from her index finger. The fire suddenly began to bend and curl until the name Ebonclaw was written out in fire above her head, "...I have a few skills..." By now, there should have been no doubt about her true identity among those gathered. She was practically admitting she was the demoness from the hospital battle. Still, it was clear that she was showing-off. As quickly as the fire appeared, she willed it to vanish.

That made me genuinely laugh :)

Fury says with a smile and perhaps half laugh:"I know."

He pushes a button on the remote from earlier, and the in the same way you saw "Big Al" you now see it scrolling through holograms of all of you, with your stats next to your hologram. Some of it censored with "****", like the actual names of everyone is a good example along with the limitations/weaknesses of everyone.

Male

Spark plug she says. i could do things with electricity that would make her little trick seem as amazing as breathing.
As fury's list appears he is shocked by how much he has on him.
"You sure do respect others privacy. shouldn't we be stopping that robbery now?"

Anthem looks at the information on the screen "Ah suppose it's fortunate Ah didn't try to use mah charming voice on y'all. Ah expect you all'd have some countermeasures in place." She looks at the "exit". "Still, Ah don't know if Ah could agree that young man is a desertah. After all, the South did loose the Wah."

She winks at Fury "All watah under the bridge, sugah. Looks like we have our team of heroes."

Female Demon Alias: Alissa Walcnobe

Nick Fury took some of the wind out of the demoness' sails when he presented his intel. Despite her colorful commentary earlier and the various nicknames she assigned, Leccia did take note of everyone's codenames as they appeared on the screen. She figured it would be a good idea to at least remember call signs, even if she thought she could come up with better ones.

Eventually, she observed her own name. Apparently, they used her demonic form's face for the profile image and in a small box beside her were several other faces that scrolled every five seconds. None of the faces had names attached to them but Leccia recognized each one as a disguise she had used at one point or another. Eventually, she saw the face of her Alissa disguise but like all the others, the name of that one was blocked out. A frown grew on her face as the demoness commented to Fury, "Do you enjoy making people want to smack you or is that just a job requirement?" Truth be told she wasn't expecting him to even humor her question.

As the woman called Anthem made her own comment about them being heroes, Leccia shook her head. She made her best indignant expression and wiggled her index finger, "Hey, speak for yourself! I'm not a hero nor anything close. You want to strut around in spandex and pull cats from trees, that's fine. I have my own reasons for putting up with this." Leccia felt she had a reputation to protect. She wasn't one of these mortals and took pride in her demonic heritage. Her claim would have likely been amusing for Fury. She was lying to herself about how long its been since she was truly evil.

Anthem looks over her shoulder at Ebonclaw, saying "Ah, hun, y'all shouldn't be to worried about anyone mistaking you for a hero. Fury's eye won't be the only one on you now, is all."

Stan knew better than to say anything. Fury was putting on a show, mostly for the others. Best to let it run it's course. More details would come.

"I'll stop your bank robbery." Blue Star said in annoyance. Nothing this man said sounded legit to him. Too many secrets, too many orders.

"If a robbery needs stopping, then I'm all for stopping it. Same with Big Al. But this..." he said as he tossed the radio away from him. "I'm not letting you or anyone else track with this."

You seem to have plenty of information already... I'm not making your job easier. For all I know you ARE big Al. Someone was giving that robot commands and you seem to have the tech to do it...

"I find proof, I'll be back."

He looked toward the others.

"We ready to get this party started?"

"Every second you wait to send us there is a second that people could be hurt or some villain can get away. Distract us with your voyeurism some other time. We can discuss your interpretation of the fourth amendment when this is over."

The president got up from his chair and began walking out of the room toward the room they started in. He figured if they zapped him into there, they were going to zap him out from there too. He had to agree with Blue Star on this one. This government agent was acting more like a evil mastermind than a patriot. Of course, so many heads of government were doing so lately, it must be much harder to oust them when they are like that.

Nick Fury: "you asked for it" he says with a grin as he mashes a button on his watch.

A flash of light blinds you all again....

You find yourselves in the middle of a street. Cars stop in their tracks blaring their horns as angry drives lean their heads out and yell: "Ey!! Move it!""

A voice comes over radio from your communicaters....

Nick Fury: "your approximately two blocks away. What we know, is the their are at least 6 thugs and how many armed we are unsure... they have hostages and the police have the building surrounded. Your job is to infiltrate the bank and diffuse the situation with the least amount of casualties possible. I will send you the layout of the bank once i get it"

Nick Fury: "oh and by the way.. if you haven't figured this out already the police aren't to fond of ya, nor is the general public. Good luck"

Static comes over the communicator as he stops talking

Stan sighed, looked around to get his bearings, and started hoofing it to the bank.

"Well lets get this over with."

Leccia winced a bit as she found herself back on the ground. She muttered quietly, "I am NEVER gonna get used to that..." When the communication device crackled with Fury's voice, she merely listened quietly. When she heard his last comment, she couldn't help but roll her eyes. Public opinion was obvious to her. If anyone couldn't figure out that having a demon along in your group was a PR Nightmare, they deserved to get mobbed. Of course, mutants weren't much better either nowadays. The demoness decided not to change into her true state and merely ran along on foot.

As she heard the complaints of the others, she couldn't help smirking a little. All things considered, she had worse days than this. Leccia mused to her new allies, "Well, if you want a little revenge, you could always start making dirty limericks about him as we run. I'm sure that man is still listening in." Truthfully, she was firmly on the fence with the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. She could understand the others rage at him very well and wouldn't deny that if she could take a free punch at him, no strings attached, she'd sign up for that opportunity. Still, there was something about his resolve that made her not mind it too much. Furthermore, she could appreciate his sense of humor even when it was at her own expense. Leccia would rather be struck by a 10000 volts than admit that to him though.

She pondered at thought for a moment, then spoke her mind, "Personally, I think we should find an alley close to this bank and look at the situation. I could disguise myself as a cop but one id check and I'm blown." Leccia was trying to be a good team player but it was still a bit new to her. She clearly was formulating her own plan but it seemed that voicing it was more of an after-thought.

Male

"She has a point we cant just all charge straight into the bank. Your disguise may not get you into the bank but you could find out the situation for us. Before we can make a good plan we sill need some info."Looking to The Standard."You seem to be a man of some authority. think you can get the cops let us do are thing?"

"Ah could just ask them real nicely over a megaphone to come out peacefully and leave their weapons on the floor. If you think you can convince the police to hand a megaphone over, that is, Standard." Anthem smiles. "Or I could walk in and ask them face to face."

anthem... that will not work, you will get shot :P.

And in all honesty to all of you, this is a situation the requires a lot of thought and talk and all of your parts

So what? And why wouldn't it work? It's how my power works. I talk, they obey.

]I was just warning you that a cop will not just hand you a Mega phone. And also, it would look bad if you openly used a form of mind control and could prove to be bad for everyone watching. You could use it once your inside, but just using a Mega phone and controlling everyones mind in the area isn't suggested. Not only could it not effect everyone inside as anticipated, but it also involves possible pvp and control of the minds of innocents watching at home as reporters will likely have a camera on you. Which will lower your karma as you will be using your powers on innocents, but also you would be telling robbers something that many others could follow. So you could accidentally tell a kid to jump out a window if your not careful :P. I am just warning you. With great power comes great responsibility and the possibility of killing a lot of people lol

The Standard nodded. "Pretty sure we don't need a megaphone with you around, hon. Your voice carries."

Looking over to the shapeshifter, he thought for a moment. "I'd rather see if we can get you inside posing as a hostage. First thing I need to do is find out if this is a Federal bank. If it is I have jurisdiction, assuming the FBI aren't already here. If it isn't, the best I can do is ask the local cops if there's anything I can do to help. Let's go talk to them, see if we can get more information about the situation. Let Anthem or I do the talking. We've managed to make a lot of people like us lately."

The Standard makes his way to the nearest officer and says "Stan Service, US. Marshal. Can you point me toward the officer in charge?"

Is this a federal bank?

"Right, darlin' Let's get some more information on what we're dealing with here. Funny how Spymaster Nicky knew all that about us but didn't bother briefing us on the situation he was sending us into."

"Or each other. Feels like a bit of a trial by fire. Normally I'm fine with that, but not when there are hostages involved."

"My guess is that he has some kind of contingency in place in case we screw this up."

The Officer says as the standard tries to speak to the officer: [b]"Their they are!! The mutant things!! The marshal is with em!![b]"

A lot of the officers turn to you guys and start firing while many cameras start swarming the area around all of you as they have found a more interesting story than a bank robbery..

Your "marshal-ship?" is suspended at the moment standard :P. Also everyone has forgotten the last attempt for the cops to kill you 0_0, Fury got them off that once, but he can't everytime. He expects all of you to be able to handle yourselves and him not having to constantly get you out of trouble :P

Seriously? We're being shot at? By the police? Near the civilians? I don't even...

The only civilians close are reporters which shouldn't be there anyways as the policy try to escort them away. And if you have read comics or anything of that nature or even in real life, cops don't take things like that unit account. For all you know they could have been given orders to fire on sight of any of you :). You most likely won't work with the police until later when you have proved yourselves :)

a lot of you seem to be getting upset over this campaign, you guys must realize that this is supposed to be challenging, and have the normal difficulties of a rising super hero :). And also... Things aren't definite :P, especially here at the beginning, (you guys are making reveal stuff again),but the standards suspension won't last long :P. And i was honestly hoping you guys would go along and do the hero thing in this situation, but after this if you guys would have been heroes here, i was planning on raising all of your popularity as some of you walk out with some of the children in your arms and other with thugs on you back despite the police trying to stop as everyone cheered... But your so butthurt over the fact that people don't like you RIGHT NOW. Instead of like most super heroes who are not liked at first at least, and some not like even later according to what type of hero you :P. So guys... chill, i promise things will be fair and im not just trying to be mean :)
