A ysoki enters the waiting room. He is decked out in a refitted kasathan hidden armor, helmet strapped to his backpack. One one shoulder he hefts a reaction cannon and it is clear that he is struggling to carry it. He looks around, does not find anyone in the room and sits down in one of the chairs, cannon on his lap. Taking a piece of cloth from his backpack he starts to clean the outside of the weapon, although it seems as if it is brand new.
Quig eyes the yoski with sadness: stowing cloth in your backpack when you have perfectly fine cheek pouches?
Quig waves: "Nothing, nothing..., and leaves. New recruits..., he sighs.

A short, cheerful girl walks in and winks at Fritz. She makes a deep bow and says Hello everybody, this is she hesitates for a moment ... eh... Zoey.
She sits down in a corner and hums a song that's been all over the station's radio these days

P.A.R.T. Wuh? Zoey fall into shocked silence for a moment. Oh, mister, that is not very nice! she says with a frown.
Mister is so cool!
There is a moment of tense silence that is completely lost on the girl, who then says cheerfully: Okay I won't sing anymore, if you are a little nicer!
She makes a heart-shape at Fritz, and then turns around like a miniature tornado.

A male figure enters the waiting room and takes a quick look around before deciding to stand near the entrance on his own. He wears clothing suited to long travel but with the telltale signs on his exposed hands of a reinforced skin tight suit underneath. He pushes back the hood to his travelling cloak to reveal the features of a human male.
"I am Torith. I assume you are all here to sign up with the Starfinder Society too. If so then i am exactly where i need to be."

The Gap was a sudden loss of history that shook the entire galaxy. It was an event where history disappeared from the minds of everyone throughout the multiverse, and only the gods have an inkling of what happened, but they refuse to speak of it... or have no idea themselves and try to shroud this in mystery!
In that nebulous time of missing history, the world of Golarion disappeared, though the gods indicate the world—wherever it is—is safe.
In its place, in the same orbit as the third rock around the sun used to have, is Absalom Station, the current home of humanity and other races native to lost Golarion.
This is where you all are now, training at the Starfinders' H.Q.: the Lorespire Complex.
In the aftermath of the Gap came the revelation of faster-than-light travel by means of the Drift. It was during this time that the Starfinder Society formed and became one of the eminent organizations of the Pact Worlds. The machine god Triune’s gift of rapid interstellar travel facilitated a sudden land rush by colonists and corporations alike, and as exploration became an extremely lucrative business, the information that Starfinder agents retrieved secured the Society’s prestige and wealth.
This prosperous age recently came to an abrupt end within the star systems known as the Scoured Stars.
An armada containing almost 80% of the Society’s agents and assets joined the Society’s leader, its First Seeker, on a mission to the Scoured Stars, only for all its transmissions to cease. When the remaining Starfinders in the Lorespire Complex attempted to make contact, they discovered a terrifying truth: the Scoured Stars were now cut off from the rest of the multiverse by a barrier of incomprehensible power.
The events of the Scoured Stars left the Starfinder Society crippled, as most of the Society’s agents and assets resided within the now inaccessible systems.
The Society’s prestige crumbled, and many of the Starfinders’ distant holdings fell to alien forces within months of the incident. Only the actions of one outspoken Starfinder, Luwazi Elsebo, held the Society together.
Even with the dedication of Luwazi and her allies, the Society suffered further losses as disillusioned agents opted to part ways with the organization.
Maintaining the Society’s interests was too much for the few remaining agents to handle, so Luwazi turned to outside assistance from reputable mercenary organizations.
With the Starfinders on the brink of ruin, Luwazi’s hopes now rest in the hands of a new generation of recruits - yes, YOU! - and ambitious factions.
Today is a momentous day for the Society, as it marks the graduation of the first wave of fresh agents - YOU, yes! - from accelerated Starfinder training.
These agents, this first promotion, you, represent the first step the Starfinder Society is taking to reposition itself at the forefront of galactic exploration.

Well, the training's done. And they call that accelerated? It sure wasn't a piece of castrovian cake! There were some scary moments, like when Ilsia Kivulia fell asleep when hiding, and no one could find her - a real ghost, that one!
And now, the graduation ceremony: this is cool!
Everyone here, gathered to watch you, well, graduate.
And music too!
As the ceremony comes to an end in the Lorespire Complex, and you feel a tear in the corner of your eye, or a drop of silicon blurring your visual augmentations, your comm' links beep.
You see the message: Please make your way to me - Guidance.

Zoey is quite comfortable in front of a camera and waves enthusiastically. She mimics making a picture with a camera at the camera. Finally, she dutifully points two fingers to the lower left of herself, where in a recording the 'like' button would be.
When she is done, she says to Neroo Hello! Are you... really...? So nice to meet you! Why are you wearing such an interesting costume?
When her message appears she says Oww, I have to go. Did you get that message as well? Come, come!
She follows the rest of the group out of the room.

Fall asleep ONE time and it follows you forever!
As Neroo crashes into the room and poses for the camera drone, Isia hides her face from the lens.
Is she going to record everything? Going to be hard to operate in the shadows if she drags that thing everywhere. Doesn't she realize some of us rely on anonymity to be successful?

You move through the Lorespire Complex, this cluster of buildings, with its eponymous central spire, which is home to the Starfinder Society that you are about to officially join.
You pass alongside the campus’s famous Archives, with its massive collection of texts and artifacts gathered from across the galaxy and studied in communal labs.
In the back, you see the Hall of Discovery, where the elected Forum members and First Seeker Luwazi Elsebo meet to steer the organization.
Then you arrive in the buildings where the vast, heavily secured machinery containing Guidance, the collective consciousness of previous Starfinder leaders is housed.
The doors to this part of the Lorespire Complex slide open, and a green holographic image of a middle-aged human woman shimmers into view at the center of the room. “Greetings new graduates,” it says. “I am Guidance. Please use the cheek swabs in the open receptacle to provide a genetic sample for Starfinder Society identification purposes. If desired, you may place your hand on the glowing panel to receive a subdermal implant further marking you as a member of the Society.”
You see that the swabbing is mandatory, but that you are able to chose to have the implant or not.

To Zoey she says Yes, I'm the one! As for the costume it's for my fan all over the Pact World. A tribute to how I become who am I today.
Reluctant at first to put her lovely hand on the glowing panel, Neroo think that it will not shows courage to be afraid. Smiling to her camera she moves and put her hand on the panel after using the cheek swab.

Torith takes a swab and uses it then places it in the receptacle.
"Greetings, Guidance. I'll accept this implant. It may come in handy in the future to have a mark to clearly show that I am with the Starfinder Society if someone does not believe my claim."
He places his hand on the panel and accepts the implant, rubbing his hand afterwards to remove the slight discomfort that follows the procedure.

Not saying anything the android known as OP-1 moves towards the cheek swabs and opens his mouth as he takes one the swabs and provides a sample.
Having done this he places his hand on the glowing panel before turning around and walking back to make room for the next graduate before raising the palm of his hand closer to his face to study what has been implanted into him.

Glad for finally knowing who she is talking to, Zoey exclaims Thewan! I knew it! Your concept is great. It's a bit scary at first, but you do it really well!
Once it's her turn to face the computer, she says Hello Guidance! and proceeds to take a swabby stick and starts poking her mouth Wmyes, I mwibll accept mthe imblant.
She hands back the swab, trying not to look too grossed out my the stick. She places her hand on the panel and stays silent for a few second after the procedure. Ok! she says finally, activates the implant, and says neat, it's a bit like a fanlight. Imagine these at a concert...

"Greetings Torith, Zoey, all you new graduates!“ says Guidance. "It is our pleasure to offcially welcome you into the Starfinder Society. Today is the commencement of your new role as a Starfinder field agent. It is our tradition, at the end of the graduation ceremony, for new graduates to present themselves to the heads of our most prominent factions and complete a task at those leaders’ behest. This allows the leaders of these groups to become familiar with all new Starfinder agents, and it provides a constant supply of agents for handling situations in our holdings on Absalom Station. While these tasks were formerly symbolic, the heavy loss of Starfinder agents in the Scoured Stars necessitates that these missions become something more. Please treat any tasks given with the gravity you would grant any other Starfinder assignment.”

Guidance goes on to explain that: "Once you complete the faction leader’s desired mission, that leader will signal me to indicate the mission is finished. Once all missions are complete, you can return to the Lorespire Complex to finish your commencement and prepare for future missions".

Acquisitives Champion You’ve declared your allegiance to the Acquisitives and dedicate your missions to furthering the goals of that faction. This Faction boon allows the character to gain Reputation with the Acquisitives faction. A character with this boon slotted at the end of a successfully completed scenario gains Reputation as detailed in the primary and secondary success conditions of that scenario.

You can use this boon, once per session, in one of two ways.
The first option is to reduce the Resolve Point cost of resting to regain Stamina by 1 (down to 0 RP).
The second option is to reduce the DC of any single starship combat check (including a gunnery check) by 4; this decision must be made before making the check.
Fritz puts the cheek swaps in his cheeks and then saunters over to the implant station. After a moment of hesitation he puts his paw on the console. When the implant is inserted he pulls back his paw and starts to lick it.
"Yep, always a good idea to know who you're working for. Best be on our best behavior, so they will think highly of us."

That's cool! Except for Venture Captain Arvid, a very nice man and one of ... the high ranking official from the Starfinder Society I've never had the chance to meet any faction leaders!
My fans will be greatfull for that!
Turning to her flying camera Neroo winks.
On her way to the Lorespire Cantina she meets some fans and asks about to know more about everything going on, sometimes turning to a man in a black suit.
But she seems to meet very few of them to her great disapointment.

Talking amongst yourselves, those who know more about Absalom Station explain how the Station is the cultural hub of the Pact Worlds.
Races from every planet in the system, including those once prominenton lost Golarion, can be found on the station.
People around the station are increasingly amenable to Starfinders. They respect both the dogged veteran field agents who were not lost in the Scoured Stars disaster and the new recruits, whose presence brings renewed hope.
Stating one’s association with the Starfinder Society is likely to garner support from the locals of Absalom Station.
A host of starships, known locally as the Armada, orbits Absalom Station. Ships from the Armada are often starships that have taken advantage of the station’s Starstone core—a mystical device that allows for quick travel through the Drift back to Absalom Station. The ships of this fleet are increasingly at risk of bringing back undetected alien life, simply because the policing Stewards lack the numbers to search every orbiting ship.
At the Lorsespire cantina, over a glass of synth-apple juice, you learn how everyone is excited about the upcoming junkrace: "Apparently some nobody mouthed off to Ratrod, the reigning junkrace champion. People know that trash talking really gets under Ratrod’s fur and wonder whether there will be more harsh words exchanged before the race".
Another patron is going on about how the latest prerelease song from sugar-pop sensation Strawberry Machine Cake is about to be released: "Unlike previous releases, the band is putting out a limited-edition physical copy prior to the concert when the released single and additional tracks are scheduled to debut and become available in digital form!"
A couple youngsters are checking out the holonet. Word on the street is that a dangerous alien predator got loose somewhere in the Downlow district of the station. The creature is now contained in a warehouse, but not after: "Look! Look! Look how it impaled a security officer with a harpoon-like natural projectile!"
Strolling on over to the Dataphiles section, you talk about Historia-7.
You know she's a female android, who manages the activities of the Dataphiles within the Archives compound of the Lorespire Complex.
She took on her name when she became an apprentice to the former head of the Dataphiles, the reclusive Historia-6.
Ever since her mentor disappeared in the Scoured Stars incident, she has assumed leadership of the faction.
Historia-7 follows her predecessor’s meticulous methods of data analysis, but she has become somewhat obsessed with the idea that other organizations are somehow responsible for withholding data relating to the Scoured Stars.
As a result, much of the Dataphiles’ current operations involve the active investigation and infiltration of other institutions, both within and beyond the Pact Worlds.
Now, going through the Lorespire Complex, home and heart of the Starfinder Society, you enjoy seeing the striking campus dedicated to knowledge.
Communal labs and historical departments study the Archives’ massive collection of artifacts and texts, gathered by generations of agents from across the galaxy.
A quick search of the directory indicates Historia-7 frequents the Archives’ Cortex, a computerized matrix containing digital records of the Starfinder Society’s most prominent discoveries.
Proudly showing your new subdermal implants you get to her workplace.
The android reclines on a raised chair and is plugged into the local infosphere when the doors open.
The neural cables detach themselves from her neck as she swivels in her seat to address you: “Greetings, Starfinders,” she says calmly. “I am Historia-7. If you are seeking a mission from me, please be aware that my request requires both discretion and speed. Do not accept it if you feel incapable of working within these parameters."

Zoey seems taken aback, and silently confides in OP-1: Discreet and speedy? That's how Momo introduces herself, I'm just bright and sparkling...
She then hears Fritz' answer and says Okay! If Fritz can do it, I'm sure we are fine. There's no problem, Miss 7, we can do your job for you!
She looks at Fritz just a slight bit too long.
