Bah, that never stopped anybody before! ;)

Yay, score one for the Z Patrol Gang!!!
Hmmm... what's tha now 58 bajillion to Kruel and 1 to us?

“What would Z’s want with an empty boat? Oh … yeah, sorry, I get you now, survivors, right. Well I don’t much like the idea of one or two of us sticking to the boat and trying to beat off hordes of zombies or survivors.” Judd shakes his head. “Nope. If someone wants a boat, hopefully they’ll take one of those others,” he gestures to the couple of other boats still docked at the marina. “If not … well, we’ll deal with that if and when. Plow down zombies on the bridge in an APC or something…”
He turns his attention back to Kill Me, sighting through the gunscope. “Are you guys sure you want to get up close and personal?” he asks. “If I can get one clean headshot,” he lines up the rifle, “I could get him in one. Think it’d really make that much of a difference over … everything?” He’s probably referring to the roar of the fire and the distant, sporadic gunshots from around the city.

"I think the idea of taking Anna (and her family if they're alive) back to the boat is a good one. We don't want them slowing us down if we have to move qyucikly or get in a fight. They can just move off shore and wait for us to return. You do trust Anna enough for her to wait right?"
"You might as well take him out. As you say, hopefully the other noises will help mask your shot. Everyone be ready for company though. Just in case."

"Has anyone got a spare gun by any chance? Just in case a couple of hundred of them boil out of an underground car park in one of those apartment blocks." Cord grips his axe tighter and looks around for any hiding places big enough to hide a small army of "them".

Samantha Bastian |

"Has anyone got a spare gun by any chance?"
Sam unslings the Sniper Rifle from her shoulder and passes it to Cord.
"Here you go. Dave has spare Ammo if you need it. My Ammo Pack for it got left behind after we ran into a little Zombie problem back over the other side."

Retcon that part where I told you guys you can't see fire engines. I just looked at the map.
Surrounding the bayshore tower and main building there are two ladder trucks (one is a fully articulated long ladder), three pumpers, and three rescue units -- not nearly enough considering the size of the fire, and all apparently abandoned.
Judging from the other pillars of smoke across the skyline, the firehouses must be empty.
Cord:

Patrick glances over at Dave once he takes the shot.
"Nice work man. Wasn't too thrilled about the choppidy option anyways."
Patrick keeps up his surveillance sweep, waiting to see if the shot has attracted any attention.
"Maybe we should dock the Rae Ann out in the water a bit. Would make her a bit more difficult to get to, but it would at least make her safe from a Z infestation. Probably make her a less easy target for anyone looking for a getaway boat."
Looks around
"How is everyone's swimming skills?"

Kruelaid |

Someone may have noticed that she has an anchor with a lock. If you have the key you can lock it out and someone would have to cut the chain to drag her away. Not too hard, but in addition to the ignition, it does pose some problems for the ordinary boat thief. Then again Sarge didn't have any trouble....
Sarge:

Cord Vogel |

"Thank you Sam, I feel a lot more useful now" He lifts up his mask to give her a smile, his face looks draw and tired.
A breeze sweeps past bringing the musk, and on it rises a keening from the woods of Stanley Park.
"What the hell was that?" Cord looks up from his new toy, "what ever we do, let's do it fast.
“Meh … wouldn’t relish it with all this gear, but I can swim ok,” shrugs Dave. He looks at Cord. “So, reckon we can take one of your trucks?”
I can swim real good, but that is one of the things they tell you to avoid with a head wound. He points towards the Hotel, I'd rather avoid the Bay Shore, but I'll follow where you lead." "I think I saw a police bus near the bay shore as well, that might be more manageable and its rear engined in case we have to ram anything"
"Less entry points to defend" he adds as an afterthought

Sgt. Curtin |

Patrick looks at the keyring
"I think we can secure the boat with this lock. I don't think anyone will be wanting to spend a lot of time fussing to get a boat, seeing as there are dozens lying about."
Goes to secure the boat. While there grabs the loaded flare gun and the extra charges. Also checks the area for any marine pumps or gas storage containers evident.
"Johnnie, the Rae Ann has a med kit if you need anything before we head out. Just basics."

I did, but now I am looking for places where I can fill them

Sgt. Curtin |

I'll just mark the spot where the marine pump is and keep an eye out for a hose length we can use later.
Patrick finishes locking up the Rae Ann and returns to the others, scanning his surroundings nervously.
"All right folks, the boat's secure. I am putting these keys on my dogtags, if you need to get them should I become ..." shudders "Well, if something happens to me, that's where they'll be."
Opens keyring and slides it on the dogtag chain around his neck.
Patrick squares his shoulders
"Well, our loved ones are counting on us. Let's get some transportation shall we?"

Sam gets up to where the vehicles are parked and waits for the others to catch up.
"So does anyone have a preference? Fire Truck or Police Bus? Personally I'm all primed to ride on the back of the Fire Truck an mow down any Z's that try to mess with us, but for practicality reasons I'd have to vote the Police Bus." She does the little pretend frown/cry.

Cord Vogel |

Just a couple of questions:
1) Are any of the dead in the area my buddies? If so I'll cover their bodies with some fire blankets out of the back of the fire rigs.
2) Any handguns around? There were a lot of police, I assume a few of them didn't make it. If so I'll take one and some spare ammo.
3) The ladder rig here? Is it long enough to reach the top of the 18 story BaY Shore hotel? (It would probably have to be an articulated rig to reach that height). If it is, are there still people up there? If the answer to both of them are yes, can I operate it on my own and is the rig already bedded down and stable, as that takes ages?
4) Are there any spare radios lying around? I'll take a few of them as well and offer them round.
All the above assumes we are not being gnawed on by a bunch of ravenous infected.

Cord points at one of the fire rigs, "that one is mine" he says, "I am sure there is a spare helmet and fire jacket in the back if wearing those would make you feel better?" Cord lifts his mask so she can see his grin.

As Sam is checking out the ladder trucks, Cord scans warily and finds eight murdered firemen.
2) Any handguns around? There were a lot of police, I assume a few of them didn't make it. If so I'll take one and some spare ammo.
Strangely, among the remains of dozens of policemen you find no guns.
3) The ladder rig here? Is it long enough to reach the top of the 18 story Bayshore hotel? (It would probably have to be an articulated rig to reach that height). The articulated aerial truck is already extended to the top, which makes you wonder why people were jumping.
Incidentally, if you guys want to take either of the ladder trucks you're going to have to retract the boom.
4) Are there any spare radios lying around? I'll take a few of them as well and offer them round.
There are a radios in the trucks and on your fallen comrades.

3) Is the ladder rig here? Is it long enough to reach the top of the 18 story BaY Shore hotel?
This also raises the interesting question of whether we can use it to get Anna out through the window instead of going into a Zombie infested building (sorry to spoil your fun Kruel)? ;)
4) Are there any spare radios lying around? I'll take a few of them as well and offer them round.
We all have Walkie Talkies so I am assuming that if you get on the same channel as us with your Radio then we can communicate. Is that how stuff like that works? I'm not sure.
As Sam's mask is still pulled down from her frowny face, she gives Cord a smirk and a wink. "I don't have fantasies to be a Fireman. Doing a Fireman on the other hand..." She trails off and replaces her mask.

Cord Vogel |

Cord spends some time covering the fallen firemen and policemen bodies with fire blankets, rolling them up if he has time or just covering them if not. He stands and says a silent prayer over them, he is not a religious guy, but his parents are/were and he has heard enough sermons about the end of days to think that this could be it.
He will take 3 radios, the first he will set to the same frequency as the radio Sam is carrying, the second he will set to the police emergency band that his fire crew ran on and the third he will set to auto scan the bands to see if he can pick up any radio chatter. He also strips off his blood covered jacket and trousers and replaces them with a clean pair from one of the rigs.
As Sam's mask is still pulled down from her frowny face, she gives Cord a smirk and a wink. "I don't have fantasies to be a Fireman. Doing a Fireman on the other hand..." She trails off and replaces her mask.
Cord does a comical double take, almost snapping his neck with how quickly he turns to look at Sam when she makes the comment. His voice sounds flustered as he tries to recover his cool, "It must be all the talk about sliding down our shiny poles that does it." The comment obviously completely caught him off guard considering the surroundings and he looks embarrassed by his school boy reaction.
Cord changes the subject, "Some one has picked the police clean, no guns here." He then looks at the ladder rigs, "Best leave them here, climbing them is no picnic and I'd rather be in a corridor with multiple exits than on a ladder with only up or down as an option."
Apart from the fire trucks what other vehicles do we have a choice from? I think the bus you mentioned when they first came ashore would be a better idea, gives us scope to pick up more survivors. So Cord will check that out first.
Finally, is there any obvious reason people are not using the extended rig to climb down? Cord will study the top of the building, but the more he looks the more he becomes convinced that the people throwing them self are off the top are probably infected and would rather die than become monsters. Is there any other reason he can see?
