Ixrul Morcrom |

"Well, now we can safely search the ship."
What find?!

Jrahk Lacertus |

So we're done here? I wanna go to a port and retrain into Invulnerable Rager.
We could also brag about how we conquered the Rock...more or less.

Ixrul Morcrom |

fine with that

Party Fund |

You can retrain while on the ship, Jrahk. All you need is downtime and cash.
The group heads back to the nearest port, Bloodcove, to spread their exploits of cracking the Rock.
Roll yon Bluff for embellishments Ixrul.
Check over the party fund and see if there's anything you want to sell, too.

Ixrul Morcrom |

1d20 + 21 ⇒ (8) + 21 = 29
Ezekiel slips from tavern to tavern, dropping well-placed and carefully crafted rumors of the exploits of the new owners of the Devil's Pallor.

Jrahk Lacertus |

Jrahk spends a few weeks at sea training himself to be more resilient to injury, though he realizes that his ability to react to surprise attacks and traps has weakened significantly.
He also has Ixrul craft him two Quick Runner's Shirts.
Once they reach Bloodcove he sells his Assisting Gloves.

Ixrul Morcrom |

If you have 1250, you can buy a wayfinder and cracked clear spindle ioun stone, you'll be immune to charm/dominate effects and give us squishes peace of mind.

Jrahk Lacertus |

Ooh, good idea! Make those and forget about the shirts for now.

Ixrul Morcrom |

I don't see anything I really wanna sell, though we could sell scorching ray and summon swarm.

TheGuyKnownAsAce |

Go for it, I got the ray transcribed, and I have no intrest for the swarm
Ace does nothing except wait.
"Hurry up, I want to go light bad guys on fire."

Cyrdic Forthill |

Cyrdic waits onboard for everyone to finish up, after buying 2 potions of cure moderate wounds to add to the collection.

Jrahk Lacertus |

He asks with that familiar mischievous glint in his eye.
Can we get a map of the inside of the ship?

Jrahk Lacertus |

Jrahk sleeps in the officer's quarters.

Ixrul Morcrom |

If there's a private, quiet place, Ixrul would be there. His defences are a arcane lock on the door lock, so +10 to the DC, and a Magic Mouth that triggers when someone other than Ixrul enters the room.

Rynjin |

Ixrul can take the Lab then. Going to assume Ace takes the officer's quarters too.
4d20 ⇒ (5, 3, 9, 16) = 33
3d20 ⇒ (2, 20, 1) = 23
Cyrdic hears a bump and a thud outside his quarters, and the faint sound of several somethings moving outside.
Everyone else is unaware and asleep.

Cyrdic Forthill |

Cyrdic rolls out of bed, summoning his bolt as he does so. Someone's making a lot of noise out there, this can't be good. Crouching behind his bed, he aims at the doorway, ready to open fire on anyone who comes in. He calls outside as he does so.
"Right then, who's out there? You know that if you're on watch, you're not supposed to be bangin' about while people are sleeping! I come out there and you've f!!&ed something up, I'll lash the lot of you!"
Readied action to fire if someone comes in. The crew knows better than to come into my quarters.

Cyrdic Forthill |

Cyrdic manifests Biofeedback, opens his door and peeks out.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
DR 2/- for 3 minutes.

Ixrul Morcrom |

sound alarm mebbe?

Jrahk Lacertus |

"RAAAAAAGH!!"
Jrahk wakes up and instinctively swings his falchion at the space next to his bed. When he fails to connect with anything, he quickly gets up and kicks open the door, eager to meet this "company".

Rynjin |

Hold on there, slim. Let's assume this is a DC 0 check. +10 for being asleep, +5 through a door, you COULD potentially miss that. We'll ignore distance penalties because distance penalties are retarded.
3d20 ⇒ (10, 7, 8) = 25
Ace makes it, barely. Ixrul is still asleep, and Jrahk, do what you were doing. Note that WITH distance penalties none of you would have made it. Which is dumb.
By the way, can everyone please start putting their Perception and Sense Motive bonuses in the line?

TheGuyKnownAsAce |

"wazzit! imawake!" Ace mumbles as he rolls out of bed after hearing the commotion.
He follows the orc out the door.

Rynjin |

Quick note: Jrahk and Cyrdic don't have their armors on. Unless they want to spend several minutes putting it on.
Cyrdic reaches the bottom of the stairs just in time to see a Sahuagin stabbing one of your crew members in the chest as he sleeps.
These appear to be the same bunch from earlier, one is wearing that odd medallion.
Ace and Jrahk will arrive next round. Rolling Initiative for Cyrdic and Sahuagin. No Surprise round, you knew they were there, and you just yelled really loud.
4d20 ⇒ (9, 5, 10, 1) = 25
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Cyrdic
Sahuagin
Sahuagin
Sahuagin
Sahuagin
Cyrdic is up!

Cyrdic Forthill |

"Get away from her, you b!#++!"
Cyrdic unloads on the sahuagin stabbing his crewmate.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Damage: 1d8 + 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + (1) + 5 = 10
Attack 2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Damage: 1d8 + 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + (4) + 5 = 10
Rapid Shot. Glad I at least put the damage reduction on myself. Should've manifested Force Screen too, but hindsight's 20/20.

Ixrul Morcrom |

Its a base DC of 0 to hear the details of a conversation. Cyrdic was yelling - I'd think that'd be closer to sounds of battle (It's someone being as loud as they can), which is DC -10, than hearing a conversation.

Jrahk Lacertus |

"WAKE UP, LAZY WIZARD!!" Jrahk shouts as he passes Ixrul's room.

Rynjin |

Its a base DC of 0 to hear the details of a conversation. Cyrdic was yelling - I'd think that'd be closer to sounds of battle (It's someone being as loud as they can), which is DC -10, than hearing a conversation.
Yes, details. As in, knowing exactly what someone's saying, rather than that someone's talking. A Battle is several orders of magnitude louder than that, even louder than someone yelling. We could split the difference and say -5, but you still missed it. Scratch that, you got it, but barely. Though again, distance penalties would have screwed you. I really need to do a formal rework of those.

Rynjin |

Oh, my bad. Sahuagin time.
Cyrdic rips into the one Sahuagin but doesn't quite drop him.
They immediately lay off stabbing your (now awake, and panicking, trying to scramble out of the way) crewmates, and come to do the same to you.
The one you shot comes in first, muscles bulging and eyes turning bloodshot with fury, pupil's entirely disappearing, much like a shark.
It stabs at Cyrdic with its trident, but misses.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
His buddies aren't far behind, crowding into the narrow area and moving around Cyrdic to surround him.
You would get a few AoOs, but you don't have a melee weapon in hand as far as I know. If you have a Cestus or something, 2 of them provoked. Two are also now flanking you from the right and left of you.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
They prod and poke with the tridents, and all 3 connect.
3d8 + 9 ⇒ (2, 1, 6) + 9 = 18
12 damage after DR.
The rest of the group arrives.
3d20 ⇒ (8, 17, 3) = 28
Ixrul
Cyrdic
Ace
Sahuagin (injured)
Sahuagin
Sahuagin
Jrahk
Sahuagin
Ixrul, Cyrdic, then Ace!

Ixrul Morcrom |

Ixrul rolls out of bed, casts Mage Armor, and heads to the source of the noise. I forgot to change his list back to what he should have prepared on a general seafaring day - he's still on his combat list iirc. I'll do it when I'm on my computer.

Rynjin |

Don't worry about it, this is the same night after you found the abandoned ship (Bloodcove was pretty nearby), so your combat list is still up.
Also, you have time to make it to the room if you like, so you can do something combat-wise this round or next if you prefer.
Otherwise: Cyrdic, you're up!

Ixrul Morcrom |

Coolio.
Ixrul pauses as he reaches the bottom of the stairs and casts snowball on the nearest sahuagin. He also attempts to identify the amulet and remember how long the rage of the creature will last.
Arcane or Religion?: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16 (Amulet)
Nature: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
Snowball: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
5d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 3, 2, 6) = 17
MLG rolls.

Cyrdic Forthill |

Rolling AoO's from when they flanked me
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Cyrdic backs up from the group and unloads on the sahuagin he'd hit earlier.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + (3) + 5 = 10
Attack 2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + (5) + 5 = 15

Rynjin |

Ixrul: You need Kn. LOCAL for the amulet. Also, their Frenzy lasts a minute or until combat is over, whichever is shorter.
Ixrul's Snowball goes wide.
Cyrdic socks one good.
His first shot drops the one he hit earlier, and the second drops another.
2d20 ⇒ (9, 3) = 12
They flail at him as he fires, but fail to connect.
Ace, you're up. You are in the room, you DO have your armor (light armor can be slept in with no penalty).

TheGuyKnownAsAce |

I dont think I will do any AOE attacks, since everyone will be roast pig after that
Ace uses the power of his scabbard of vigor to boost the power of his sword.
+3 atk, +3 dmg for 3 rounds, overrides weapon of +1 bonus
He goes for the remaining creatures.
atk1: 1d20 + 3 + 5 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 5 + 3 = 25
dmg1: 1d6 + 3 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 5 = 12
he turns to the other one, if the first is not dead, and stikes again
atk2: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 11 - 2 = 26
dmg2: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
He shouts "Slice and dice, baby!"

Ixrul Morcrom |

gog dammit ryn jin that makes it a 15

Rynjin |

Don't have time for two attacks (you'd need to move into the room a bit), but you hit the first guy, and I'm assuming you hit the one Cyrdic punched.
Ace moves in and slices the injured Sahuagin, dropping him.
Jrahk? Take the last one?
And Ixrul just made the DC, so he knows it's Deep Platinum.
This rare platinum alloy is characterized by blue-black whorls of an almost disturbing aspect, and is virtually unknown to those living above the surface of the sea. It is actually mined from platinum deposits in the deepest ocean trenches, where it is tainted by exposure to poisonous deep sea vents called “black smokers.” Only aboleths, krakens, or even stranger creatures of the ocean depths can recover this metal from these fathomless trenches. On land, deep platinum has the same value as normal platinum, but it is of inestimable value to undersea races such as the sahuagin, who often ascribe religious or magical qualities to the rare metal.

Jrahk Lacertus |

Jrahk kills it twice for good measure.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
2d4 + 18 ⇒ (1, 4) + 18 = 23
Confirm: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
2d4 + 18 ⇒ (2, 1) + 18 = 21
