Sovereign Court

do we make a new alias or post with the credited character?

Absalom Initiation

My recommendation is to make a new alias, but I'm not going to require it if anyone is incredibly OCD about having an alias you're only going to play for this one game.

That work?

Silver Crusade

Venture Lieutenant, Play by Post (online), Hostess of Cottonseed Lodge (playtest)

Some people make a pregen alias that they can reuse. Then they can at least have the header and picture match the current pregen they're using. They usually call it "_user_'s pregen alias" or something like that.

Absalom Initiation

In the interest of getting things rolling, Redelia, you're in :). Please choose a goblin and make an intro post.

Sorry, I haven't actually disappeared. Sometimes having a real life sucks. I will try to get my alias ready this evening.

Chuffy Lickwound, HP:11, AC:17, T:15, FF:13 F:+2, R:+6, W:+1, Init:+1, Perc:+5

This is Voice's pregen of Chuffy.
If someone else wants the rogue, I am ok with switching.

Absalom Initiation

I'll move to the start of the Bonfire tomorrow, but to get ahead a bit, there will be four Dares, which are governed by specific checks.

Dance with Squealy Nord: Ride Checks
Hide or Get Clubbed: Hide Checks
The Rusty Earbiter: Escape Artist Checks
Eat a Bag of Bull Slugs Real Quick: Fortitude Saves

The way that I'll run them for this set is:
1. Everyone (now) say which Dares you want to opt- in for. There may be downsides associated for failing a Dare.
2. Thursday and Friday I'll post a pair of Dare Results a day.
2.a. For each Dare, I'll roll off Initiative to see who gets to the front of the line for the Dare.
2.b. I'll roll the results of the checks, until a participant wins the Dare.
2.c. Participants should post an IC post of their results. Failure is sometimes more fun than success!

That will give us some time to have goblin shennanigans, and start into the next section Monday. In the meantime, you're goblins! Feel free to describe what you're doing, or otherwise have fun!

deck handler

Reta will participate in all but Rusty Earbiter. She will fluff her refusal as not wanting to tear her beautiful bride hat.

I'm not aware of what the Dares are, but Mogmurch will participate in all but the Rusty Earbiter.

The name of the dare and associated checks were what I listed.

I mean RP-wise. Festival games I assume. Was curious about the significance. They were introduced by name so it sounded like something others know about.

Chuffy challenge all to everything. Chuffy is best. Chuffy beat everyone at anything!

The names are significant, but mostly tongue in cheek. The skill checks are technically the most important.

I'll hold off on progressing until tomorrow morning to give the second Mogmurch a chance to chime in, but I wanted to give at least a little bit to interact with :)

Absalom Initiation

The dice seem to have been with Chuffy so far! Reta / Mogmurch, feel free to describe what you're doing, or you can post as if you had failed the Dare.

For the last Dare, as mentioned, you have an option: make five DC 15 fortitude saves, or (up to) five DC 10 fortitude saves followed by a progressively harder final fortitude save (for each DC 10 save completed.)

Will CHuffy's Pustular condition apply to this challenge?

I believe I've posted for all three that Mogmurch signed up for. Failed hard at slug-eating.

Not *yet*. The initial checks are just for keeping it down. If you opt for the 10 DC check, there's an after-affect it may come in handy for.

Absalom Initiation

Also, it should be noted that with the Fort saves, you need to make 5 out of 10. Failing one doesn't stop you.

Bogmurch and Mogmurch have noticed that the pregens actually put them over their light-load limit for their STR score. We'll have to either take the AC / movement hit (Bogmurch already has) or else leave some things behind before we leave the village (Mogmurch's current plan).

Just FYI

Goblin Expert 1 | HP: 7/7 | AC: 14/13/12 | F+1 R+2 W+1 | Init:+2 | Perception: +3 | Active Conditions: None

say, GM.

The loadout for the pregens puts "Mogmurch" at medium encumberance. I may drop an item or two to bring it under Light encumberance.

just FYI. the lantern is an easy drop.

lol, *ogmurches take the "twin post" feat

Absalom Initiation

You know, I think I've run We Be Goblins close to 10 times, and load has never come up. I'm fine saying that the pregen materials are specially sized / weighted so that load isn't an issue, otherwise his stats should reflect being under load.

Also, you guys' posts are why I love We Be Goblins.

i've become addicted to running pathfinder with herolab, had to recreate mogmurch in herolab and this popped out.

i'll just ignore encumbrance here. thanks!

Chuffy Lickwound, HP:11, AC:17, T:15, FF:13 F:+2, R:+6, W:+1, Init:+1, Perc:+5

Yeah, pregens are pretty well known to often have a few minor (or not so minor) errors in them. I would think pregens, which are supposed to be used over and over by lots of people, would be a situation where it would be worth the time to be extra careful. However, that seems to not always be the case.

Absalom Initiation

For the record, yeah, the tanglefoot bag was a pretty good move and absolutely changed a hit into a miss. I encourage use of resources :)

Absalom Initiation

There are two identical looking potions left un-identified that contain a light blue liquid. I'll give you guys creative solutions for identifying them.

The crossbow you found is sized appropriately for a goblin, because otherwise that would be cruel.

The player of the cleric is the one that dropped out due to RL reasons. I think you'll be fine, though.

Finally, the licorice was mainly for something that is no longer relevant, but I'm sure it tastes nice. :)

Absalom Initiation

I think we're making pretty good time for this module; we have about three weeks to cover 3-4 encounters plus the conclusion. I'll be keeping an eye out on the pace though; the last battle can be a bit long, and there is one fight that is a bit redundant.

Hopefully everyone is having a good time so far.

Definitely! This and one other current session are my first two PbPs. I feel like I'm getting a pretty good intro to it, while I feel out how it works.

Yeah real bad.

Absalom Initiation

Yeah. I tried to get on three times today, and it was down each time. Like I said, combination of web issues and humble bundle, I imagine.

deck handler

As I understand it, today was so bad because they were working so hard to fix it. It might be fixed now; it was stable last night when I checked on all my games, and seems fine now.

GM: Did the alchemists fire end up working on Vorka? If so she would have had to stop and put it out (or take more damage).

Absalom Initiation

I forgot about the next round damage... but she would probably want to get out from being trapped anyway. So she takes 5 extra points.

Word, time for some climbing after her...

Absalom Initiation

I think this is the most on the ropes I've seen Vorka be this early on. Smoking her out of the cabin, then the bombs / fireworks certainly helped.

Absalom Initiation

FYI, in the interest of fairness, when I roll for boons I'll do alphabetical by your current character handle name. That way there's no question of me playing favorites.

Just some loot, a little RP available, then the wrap up!

Dark Archive

Goblin Expert 1 | HP: 7/7 | AC: 14/13/12 | F+1 R+2 W+1 | Init:+2 | Perception: +3 | Active Conditions: None

holy smokes. Incredible pace, friends! very awesome.

Absalom Initiation

There was one encounter with two dogs that I skipped in the interest of time and because I wasn't trusting the stability of the boards; if it wasn't a pregen scenario I'd keep it in because it would use resources but it's kind of redundant for WBG. The Vorka fight is a lot more important anyway. Alchemists clearly are pretty impressive against Vorka in tight confines, though!

I did appreciate everyone's commitment to the game, though; there were a few slowdowns at decision points but we didn't have any major lags in combat.

Absalom Initiation

For logistics, I'll be working on the char sheets to be posted this weekend hopefully. I'll make sure to report everything as well.

Thanks again, everyone. I had some insanity come up mid-game so I didn't get to embellish as much as I'd like, but it was fun. :)
