Actually the ship is to the north, exactly in the opposite direction, but carry on... :)

You told me it was on the western half of the beach, the jungle to the south, leaving the ocean to the north.

To be clear, you are on the southern edge of a u-shaped cove that has walls to the east and west. The jungle is south of you. The ocean is north of you. The ship is also north of you, along the western edge of the cove, but there is more ocean out past where the ship is.

Caasi:
Since Caasi has a book-learned familiarity with the island, here's a link to a map of it. The cove in B12 is where you actually are. The ship is near to the intersection of A11 and B12

"Did you say Smuggler's Shiv," says Ishirou. He appears thoughtful.

"Sounds like a horrible place," says Sasha, but she is smiling, as if thinking of something pleasant, belying her words.

"Indeed I did, thats what the voices in my head told me... though they seem to be giving me conflicting information about the specific geography of this place."

I relay the information about the island I had told Klania to the two of them.

The lighthouse is to the southwest. The ship is to the west. Go to the ship and logic says we will be closer to the lighthouse than we are now. Unless of course we overshoot, but that wont be an issue because a lighthouse would be on the coast. Find the western coastline and you find the lighthouse. Trust me, I am a ranger. I reached the rank of life in Elf-Scouts.

Male Human Paladin 1

"I wonder where all the crew of the ship are? And our good captain, not to mention the first mate, and the bookish Ieana."

Let me re-consul the voices in my head about the geography of this place.

Knowledge: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

You have to go with your first roll, (which was better anyway) as you cannot learn what you didn't already know. But if you missed it, post 151 above has the final bit of geographic help you are going to get (at the moment). I recommend you peruse that for any potential help. Well, maybe one more thing,...

Caasi:
The island is maybe ten miles wide and twenty miles, north to south.

Can I draw a copy of the map in the sand and show the others?

You could try...

DM Wicht wrote:

What do I do to roll that?

M Gnome Animist 1

"Do any of you know who drugged our food," My gnome says bluntly, "It might help us find out what happened."

M Gnome Animist 1

Also i want to try to do my best as a healer to find ways to make Gelik more comfortable.

Medic: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

if medic won't work heal will be

Heal: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

"This is symptoms of poisoning and from my understanding the symptoms are of poison that people will apply to food and which apparently was is supper...last night? a week ago? I have no idea how long we were out."

Gelik brushes away Malchi's help.

"I'm alright," he says, "If you can't get up on your own, other's shipwrecked with you will never take you seriously, and they'd be quite right not to."

As the minutes pass, it is clear that everyone is starting to feel better.

Caasi draws a hooked tear-shape in the sand, crudely, and points to a spot near the top narrow part indicating where he thinks you have been beached on the island he thinks you are on.

It doesn't help a whole lot, but perhaps he can get some better map making tools somewhere.

"It doesn't help us a whole lot," says Aerys, unhappily "what we need is a way off, if indeed we are on an island, which I suppose could indeed be the case. Do any of you have anything to drink?"

M Gnome Animist 1

I call water spirits to fill some mugs with water. (Create water). If you are wandering i do have mugs.

"That does not answer the question. Do anyone know who poisoned us." I look expectantly to PC and NPC alike.

"Not a clue," says Sasha, she scans the treeline with interest. Ishirou shakes his head.

Aerys looks at the mugs. "Unbelievable," she says with exasperation.

Gelik takes one of the mugs and quaffs down the water. "Good show, lad," he says, "just the thing."

The manacled Garundi man speaks up for the first time, "I would not mind a drink," he says, "If you could spare one. I don't suppose any of you have a key for these things?"

Male Human Paladin 1

"No not a Key persay, But Perhaps, good Klania may Be able to contrive something for you in that department. What were you in the locks for anyway?"

M Gnome Animist 1

I of course give him water. "I am also interested in why you are in manacles. What do you think happened to the ship."

Looking at Aerys I say symathetically, "Sorry, ma'am but I didn't bring anything strong. I wasn't really thinking this would happen so only my spells do i have."

I bet Ieena poisoned us.

The man has no way to hold the mug himself, as his hands are manacled behind his back.

"My name is Jask, Jask Derindi, and I was being taken to Sargava for a trial... for something I didn't do. I have been working in Corentyn these last few years as a scribe. I don't suppose that any of you are from Corentyn?"

"As for how we got here, I can't help you... The last thing I remember is the Captain feeding me dinner last night, if it was last night. I suppose it must have been... Oil of Taggit generally only lasts for a few hours. Anything stronger than that and we would be sicker."

Female Half elf Rogue 1

"ah fine" first survival for last time :)
survival: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
unless this counts as in the natural wild then +4

Female Half elf Rogue 1

then his manacles
Disable Device: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Female Half elf Rogue 1

great I"m using up my good rolls

Female Half elf Rogue 1

oh and not that it probably matters but i forgot my plus from Masterwork Tools

How does he know it was oil of taggit?

Klania:
Klania surveys the beach and sees the various furrows in the sand, accompanied by footprints that indicate someone dragged each of the ten on the beach up onto shore, out of the surf. The marks would seem to indicate that whoever did it was the same person, and that they made three different trips to bring everyone to shore. There is no indication of anyone else on the beach.

Klania also realizes that opening the manacles is beyond her meager skill. She will need the key

Klania is unable to open the locks on the manacles.

Caasi Jecir wrote:

Are you asking out loud?

Female Half elf Rogue 1

"some one pulled us out of the water and probably then left, they left tracks"

Klania Kerisash wrote:

Klania:
To be clear, they seem to have left back into the water...

Male Human Paladin 1

I wish to detect evil on every one here.

Female Half elf Rogue 1

the total on the disable device should actually be 29. hero lab messed up on that :)

Female Half elf Rogue 1

"the person that pulled us out left back into the water"

M Gnome Animist 1

"Caasi, i also knew it was Taggit. The symptoms are unmistakable. I suppose it could have been something else but by all likelyhood it is Taggit."
and you could find that out with a successful heal check.

Are you asking out loud?

Yes

M Gnome Animist 1

I also pour the water into his mouth for him.

Male Human Paladin 1

I examine the manacles, what are they made of?

Janrose, Knight of Erastil wrote:

Janrose:
None of your fellow passengers seem to project an aura of evil.

Jask speaks up, "I have some experience in medical matters, and I have seen the effects of Taggit before. This is the first time though that I have experienced it firsthand. And for so many of us, there must have been a lare quantity used. I wonder if the crew was likewise effected." He accepts the drink from Malchi.

His manacles are of good steel.

"The Captain had a key," says Jask, "Perhaps his body is still on the ship."

Female Half elf Rogue 1

they are extremely good manacles it takes about a 35 to get them off

Male Human Paladin 1

"Hmm, Does any one have a chisel?"

"Fresh out of chisels," says Gelik.

The ship in the distance can be currently reached because it is low tide. The tide will come in, and it is possible that the tide will not only prevent access to the ship, but may very well cause the ship to either be smashed against the rocks, or pull the ship out to sea.

If that ship is the Jenivere, it will likely have keys, or at least tools we can use to get those shackles off. We should move now.

Female Elf Arcanist 1

"Agreed."
Can I make a Knowledge History about this place.

Male Human Paladin 1

"That is a good plan, If however, there are no tools, I have another plan, not a comfortable one, but a plan."

Female Half elf Rogue 1

"I'm fine with going, are we going to check the ship first?"

M Gnome Animist 1

Let us go to the ship then...Hopefully we won't fight anymore of those crab things and it will be uneventful...

I am so jinxing us... 3:)

"Well," says Jask, "I don't think I can make that trek, so if its all the same to you, I'm going to wait right here."

"Someone should guard this site," says Sasha, "I can do that."

Ishirou merely grunts and shakes his head resignedly. "There's nothing on the ship to interest me, no doubt its broken and the crew is dead."

"Bunch of quitters," says Aerys, "But really, do we need to go to the ship? My head is killing me. I need a drink."

"No doubt you need a drink, madam," says Gerlik, "There is little else you do but drink and snore."

"Watch it runt," says Aerys heatedly.

After a little more bickering, it is clear that the Gerlik will also stay on the beach, off the rocks, which he fears will tear his clothes, and that Aerys could be persuaded to go, but doesn't really want to.

"When you get to the ship," says Jask, "There were a few of my personal effects in the Captain's quarters. If you fetch them for me, it would be good of you. Some Armor, a small dagger, a symbol of Nethys, and a pouch. I do believe the captain also had some maps."

Walking along the jagged rocks is not a pleasant task, but as you move northward you realize that when the tide rises, this area will be quite dangerous, due to the pull and tug of the waves atop the rocks.

As you approach the ship, you see firstly that it is the Jenivere, but her prow has been completely smashed.

Perception checks

M Gnome Animist 1

it appears i am on first. My familiar is on me at all times except in combat with weak creatures as earlier. Since he is i get my +2

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Hopefully someone with the skill will beat me.

M Gnome Animist 1

I rolled well however...

Male Human Paladin 1

Knowledge religion for Nethys, or do I automatically know who that is? I was raised in a church after all.

perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

M Gnome Animist 1

Nethys is God of magic

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
