Ouch, would have been near-max damage for the great ball. That would've potentially killed both of you. :3
*continues laughing in hysterics*

Ding! Not much new with Oracle level 2.
HP roll: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Yow. Lower than average. Oh well!
I've taken up two points in Linguistics so that's a +Infernal and +Ignan for me. I can possibly explain knowing these languages through SUDDEN MYSTICAL ORACLE KNOWLEDGE!!!
Or possibly I just took a language book or two from the warden's library?

Sindran Eithe wrote:Or possibly I just took a language book or two from the warden's library?Yeah, I guessed leveling up inside a library would make all sorts of in-game sense :)
Indeed! And Sindran happened to have stumbled on a copy of "Dealing With Devils: Initiation Into Infernal" and took it because what the heck where those other guys saying earlier in Infernal, leaving me out like that? Not cool, guys. I'm gonna learn all this in like two hours and pretend I knew Infernal all along.

Caladwhen |

I also took linguistics, and took Auran. Figured she could pick it up from Talon, since Cala is pretty much a genius (especially with languages, she speaks 9 now) and a quick study.
Also, I'm going with the average pretty much every level. On odd levels, I'll use my favored class bonus for HP, so it'll always be 4 HP.

Cala, I guess we'll be needing a map of the prison grounds soon, sample I'm getting the hang of this now ;)
I'll be AFK for tomorrow as I try to kill my other band of villains, and I need a little prep time for that tonight. I hope to post one more time tonight, so I can at least leave you on a cliffhanger :)
Also, has anyone seen Arryn? she's been quite stealthy since wednesday.

Actually, was wondering that myself this morning.
In any event, I'll get a map up, probably later tonight. Anywhere in particular you want the tokens placed IB?

I think you'd all be hiding inside the tower of 6a - on the battlements (higher ground).
Grumblejack doesn't fit on any of the stairs, so both he and the keg of oil Sindran asked him to carry are on the grounds between the chimney and 6a, waiting for someone to tell him what to do.
The guards are directly on the south side of the north-eastern-most tower (that's as good a place as any to take a leak, if you ask me), the square between the vegetable patch(5) and the tower(6) looks sensible.

She mentioned being somewhat busy this week, just hope she's ok. I feel we're bypassing her a bit for now, but the rest of you have a very similar posting frequency so I feel it's best to move at your pace. Arryn, hope to see you again soon. There's loot and vengeance to be had for you!

Arryn Lerash |

Wow. I was gone for longer than thought, with family fighting and such, sorry for the delay and I hope I wasn't to much of a hamper on gameplay. I've been trying to at least read what's been happening, and I think I'm up to date. I will level my character accordingly. Sorry Dm and Group for not leaving a "I'll be gone" post.

Sick baby.
Oh no! Hope (s)he's better soon...
I'm rocking an 7 weeks old girl to sleep with my foot as I type this, she was in the hospital during the christmas week. It breaks your heart.Wow. Well, sometimes life just takes over... I hope we can provide a fun distraction if you need one. In any case, clad to hear from you again.
Now let's get the hell out of this useless hole of a prison.

Asta Blackheart |

^^ It is deeply amusing to read what nice family people you are all in real life, when compared to some of the attitudes portrayed by your characters. That being said, I hope your little ones will be happy and healthy.

Sindran Eithe |

Sorry to hear that about the troubles, you guys. I hope good things head your way.
That being said, let's go! And by that I mean go ahead with whatever plan you're doing because Sindran will be busy staring at the fire Ooh, pretty.
And he's kind of on the ground so I'm not sure if he'd hear you since you're all trying to be quiet.

Caladwhen |

Sorry to hear that Aerent; my toddler had a rough cold over the holidays, so I can sympathize.
In any event, glad to have everyone back in action. Also, I should congratulate Asta, our resident lurker who recently succeeded in a rather competitive recruitment for a Kingmaker AP (I also applied with a Ranger, but didn't make the cut... though admittedly, I failed to provide a background for my character.)

Asta Blackheart |

"Michelle...?"
...And just as Talon realises that the dying guard at his feet is Bart - the guy who took his second wing, Arryn's victim topples over on top of Bart, and both are forever silenced.
Hmm. Your friendly neighbourhood commentor experiences an odd mixture of pity and justice at this... After all, they could have just hobbled Talon's wings, they didn't need to take a saw to them.

Talon Dalkar |

Lol apparently I'm geting them back at some point. The reason they're gone is it would be a little easy for me to escape the prison with a 60ft fly speed lol. As far as I know, when the party all gets a good set of loot I'll be rewarded with magical healing or something along those lines; well that's my guess anyways

Sindran Eithe |

I was thinking more of gradual natural healing, but the idea that you get 'rewarded' with your wings back is rather sweet.

![]() |

Mechanically, fly is somewhat of a girl-dog for GM's. So I generally prefer to handicap my winged player characters until a short time before everyone gets access to the fly spell. This adventure allows a perfect way to make this appear as natural healing over the course of a few months - that's still pretty quick ;)

Sindran Eithe |

I'll give you guys time to do anything you want to do, yeah? Preferably getting Ron out. Sindran will just be, heh, at the door.

![]() |

Now that it does...
yeah, sorry bout that :) I like to work with buildings that make sense; after Aerent's question, I thought this room needed a door. After all, what good is a guard room with no way of getting in or out from the castle grounds? So, sometimes the original needs some minor changes, and we don't know until it's too late :)

![]() |

Aerent's plan looks pretty solid, so unless anyone breaks in and makes changes, I'll resolve it later tonight (+/- 3 hours from now). I do hope Cala can tell us what you all see and hear while she works her magic...
If any of you are planning to stab the guards who resist the magic, feel free to roll!

Sindran Eithe |

Sindran will be just by the door, ready to greet anyone with who wants to leave.
By which I mean:
Intimidate 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Intimidate 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Surprise!
If anybody still gets through him, well, I'm sure Grumblejack knows what to do.

Talon Dalkar |

Here's a charge attack going in, then a few regulars for clean up if needed
Charge1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 2 = 27
Confirm1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage1d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 x2=14
Attack1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Confirm1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Damage1d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 x2=24 (WHAT?!?! CONFIRMED CRIT DOUBLE HANDED MAX DAMAGE, GET ON MY LEVEL)
Attack1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damage1d6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Oh dear lord...Talon going HAM

Aerent Sephim |

Eh, kill him and be done with it. Dead is dead.
Did we search all of the rooms in the castle? I can't remember. If not, return and do so.
Otherwise, change into the clothes provided by our mysterious benefactor (and out of the guard uniforms), get some food for the road, and head out.

![]() |

The gatehouse is the only place left - you've been very thorough - and there's a couple of shortbows, longbows, crossbows and plenty of ammunition for each type.
I'd like to wrap up some loose ends - specifically Ron. I like that you're letting him live - but will you give him any proof that Blackerly has been stealing off the prison? Arryn has found plenty in the Sarge's private chambers. Or will you try to take him with you as a sort of cohort / red-shirt?

Sindran Eithe |

Might not be able to post until much later (just posting this quick).
Sindran will try to make Ron think that there's no option for him but to go with them (they'll think he helped them, or something like that--I'm sure that illiteracy will come to an advantage but Sindran prefers telling the truth, or select parts of it).
"Congratulations, Ron! With everyone but you dead, you are now the head of the prison. Isn't that what you wanted?" Sindran claps him on the back.
Oh, and whether or not Arryn shows what she found is up to her because I don't know if I know about those.

Aerent Sephim |

Cala found some information in Blackerly's desk detailing his schemes. Give that to Ron, then he can drink some tea in the poker room. His story could be that he knew Blackerly was skimming, and even found the papers to prove it. He came to the game, but Blackerly gave him the tea. He could claim he doesn't know anything about the escape, how it happened, etc. He just came to the game, and Blackerly gave him the tea - probably to kill him and keep him quiet.
Aerent has absolutely zero desire or incentive to have this idiot come with them on their escape.

![]() |

If you'd like to bring Ron in, that would be an ideal way to introduce an extra player. Ron would be wanted for questioning both by the inquisition (and more importantly, his wife...), so he'd have to "change his name" or "disappear for a while" anyway. voila, any character with low int ;) can jump right in.
So - would you guys like to add an extra player? If you think adding that another player would be more fun than going on with the five of you, we *now* have the perfect opportunity. I vote 'meh', in other words, this is all your choice.
