Game Master Voomer

A closed campaign to supplement tabletop play in the Carrion Crown AP.

Everyone check in here once you've created your profiles!

Ok, let's give it a try!

Scarab Sages

Male Half-Orc Cleric of St. Cuthbert - 8

Hey Kids,

I have had a profile for a long, long time, so I am just going to use this one.

I think you can translate raumac = Tarcinzia.

Just think if this as another one of Tarcinzia's disguises!

Scarab Sages

Male Half-Orc Cleric of St. Cuthbert - 8

How do we get added to the "Players" and "Characters" tabs?

Hey, Andy, you can make another profile super easily! Please do that instead of using Raumac. I have 5 different profiles I've used in different games. Glad to see you guys on here.

Great Munafiq image.

Grand Lodge

Done.

How do we get added to the "Players" and "Characters" tabs?

Grand Lodge

Oops! Apparently, I need to pick Tarcinzia every time! I will be sure I do.

Yay! I dig your image. I believe once you post to the gameplay thread you will be automatically added to the players tab. Once Lara and Victor check in, I'll do a post for the next round, and then everyone can jump into the gameplay thread -- ideally in initiative order. We'll see how it works out...

Arthen's around. [Who knew Arthen would have name competition?]

So, it looks like initiative order here is:
GM: Nasty invisible very powerful vampire with razor scarf, 7 ghouls
Arthen
GM: Quinley
Munafiq
GM: The sparklepire, invisipire, basement vamp, main room visible vamp, demons 1-3
Tarcinzia
Ion, Erinye, Bralani Azata 1 & 2
GM: 3 Guards in the basement
?

Yay, Arthen is here! (Another awesome photo!) And that means she can make Ion get up here too! Especially since the Arten of that photo is very clearly used to getting people to do what she wants.

I'm pretty sure that's the right initiative order. Seems like the next step is for Ion to get on here and for me to kick off the round. I don't have what I need on me, and I have a zillion things to do, so it will need to wait. But I guess if I don't add much of descriptive frills I should be able to get something up by tomorrow. I'll e-mail to let you know when I do.

Munafiq and Tarcinzia: Could you please share your photos of the map layout via e-mail or dropbox?

By the way, my photo reminds me of both Abidan and Pallu, which is why I chose it (long ago). Although I confess it is rather less jazzy than the ones you all have chosen!

Ok, I've sent around the map(s). Yes, the avatars that people have chosen are really fitting! Except that the DM reminds me a bit of a peasant girl from the French countryside wearing old fashioned motorbike goggles.

Arthen's avatar definitely looks like she is used to getting people to do what she wants!

Tarcinzia, love the image, but... Can I touch your monkey?

Grand Lodge

Female Half-Orc Pirate with a MONKEY!? How could I not pick that image!?

Since you asked so nicely, Munafiq, you may touch my monkey, but beware ... she bites!

POST IN ORDER! NO PEEKING UNDER THE GM SCREEN!

Grand Lodge

"POST IN ORDER! NO PEEKING UNDER THE GM SCREEN!"

Why are you shouting? ;-)

But honestly, I do not know what this means...

Having never played a Play-By-Post game before, does this mean we are not supposed to look at the "Gameplay" tab until it is our turn?

That does not make sense, since I can sit around the table and hear what people are doing or saying during their turn, so I am not sure what this directions means.

Victor, do you care to elaborate?

Yes, yes. Please look at the gameplay tab, but don't click to reveal the spoiler, which has my rolls and other info. Imagine that all that info is behind the screen...

Ok - sorry for the delay getting set up here, but if this works, here I am. Whizzz!!

Welcome, Ion! I should have been clearer: I don't think one can do an attack of opportunity with a ranged weapon, but maybe someone will correct me.

I'll post soon. Things have heated up a lot on the remodel front in the last couple days.

Yes, I checked. No AofO with a ranged weapon unless you have snap shot feat. And the Erinyes doesn't have a claw or slam attack or comparable, so no AofO for her.

Yeah - she's short one feat to get the attack with her bow. Ah, well.

A couple problems with your post, Munafiq. (1) You're currently inside a dressing room and can't strike anything in the hallway. and (2) As I understand the rules, it takes a standard action to search two squares for an invisible opponent. I'm not aware of a provision for taking a full attack, and using all your strikes to find and then further attack invisible opponents. Here are the rules:

http://www.pathfinder-srd.nl/wiki/Invisibility

And particularly this language:

"A creature can grope about to find an invisible creature. A character can make a touch attack with his hands or a weapon into two adjacent 5-foot squares using a standard action. If an invisible target is in the designated area, there is a 50% miss chance on the touch attack. If successful, the groping character deals no damage but has successfully pinpointed the invisible creature’s current location. If the invisible creature moves, its location, obviously, is once again unknown."

Grand Lodge

I think the most significant part is that there is a wall between Munafiq and the hallway, so difficult to see him attacking squares near Arthen.

I have sent an updated Map to our group e-mail which tries to address the question of "Square to the Left of <player> or <creature>".

I have added numbers and letters, so we can refer to "square D7", which is next to Arthen and Quinley.

Let me know if the new map helps.

Thanks, Andy. The map definitely helps!

Here it is: Map

Grand Lodge

As an FYI, using the updated Map, our current locations are:

C7 = Arthen
B7 = Munafiq
C1 = Ion
E1 = Tarcinzia

Hope this helps everyone find the right square on the map.

I'm sorry, I'm an idiot and didn't remember that that was a wall next to me! I'll try to get another description in soon - we're in the middle of lots of family visits.

Remember that Munafiq does not actually know what happened to Arthen. I think I really want to start being a lot more serious about separating player and character knowledge. So, why does it make sense for Munafiq to stop in front of Arthen instead of attacking the demon he can easily reach? I don't think it does. Munafiq doesn't really have any idea what has been happening in the hallway, does he?

No, you're correct, I didn't read carefully, I just remembered that Quinly yelled something about invisibles and thought it included Arthen being in trouble. In any case, even after drinking a healing potion Munafiq is still only at 35HP and he wants some serious healing so that he can continue the fight so he's still planning to run to Arthen's side.

Makes sense.

I'm going to post the actions of the vampires and demons today, and then I'd really like to wrap up the round, which will require effort by Andy and Victor to post on Sunday...

Obviously we got off to a slow start with this, but I think we can be more efficient in the future...

Grand Lodge

Just want to be clear. It is a Will save to avoid being thrown down the stairs?

Yes.

Grand Lodge

When "The Nabasu demon near the second Azata, moves to C-3" does the second Azata get an attack of opportunity?
