"Hmmm", Cantion muses, as he walks around the laboratory, observing the many different items in the room.
"Some legends pose that famed inventor, Daedalus, created the maze for Ol' King Minos, to store The Minotaur. This..could be one of his workshops, but I don't know for sure. Daedalus supposedly worked in many different scientific fields, but he's most famous for his mechanical inventions, of which I don't see hardly any of."
Walking back to the bronze ball of string pedestal, the cleric continues.
"But I'd have to say this ball of string, found here in the labyrinth, interests me the most. I wonder if this is could be Ariadne's Thread? The fabled thread that lead Theseus through the maze in the first place?"
The fawn sighs, "By Bacchus, I'm thirsty! I need a drink!" Cantion then finds a quiet, non-busy corner of the workshop, taking his small keg of wine from his backpack, and pours himself a tankard.

"One or two drink every couple of hours and I'm transcendently mellow", said the fawn looking up at the amazon. Shaking the tankard, Cantion grins a grinny grin, "Want some?"

Any attempt to detect magic mis overwhelmed by the magic aura of the workshop itself, a very powerful conjuration aura. Any attempt to discern lesser auras requires concentration.
Also, the Diagrams are all theroetical, but they seem to shift and change as you look soon them.
There are several prototypes laying about, the including a set of full wings made from a myriad of feathers and wax. The wings are ratty and hardly worth use...
Cantion
Pouring the wine into Titaia's borrowed tankard, Cantion smiled, "Did you see the wax wings? This whole room is amazing! But, I wonder, where it's master is?"
Cantion
"If anything, it would help us get back here: the only safe room we've found so far", mused the fawn, offering the tankard to Patroclus. "I don't think we should touch anything else in here, though. With all the invisible servants running around here, I'm certain a couple of them are guardians, IF WE'RE LUCKY".
Cantion
"No offense to those gathered here", said Cantion, "but I wish we had one of Mercury's roguish followers with us. They could check the pedestal for traps".
The fawn then walked over to the bronze twine. "As a cleric of Bacchus, the best I could do is tell if the twine was magical, which would be useless in this place, but if you are looking for a professional arcane opinion, I would defer to my beautiful colleague", spoke Cantion, as he walked back to offer a hand to Titaia.
Titaia
Titaia sighed before she took a drink of the wine she had been given, then used Cantion's hand to get up. "I make no promises." She told him as she handed him her drink and walked over to the twine. "Also Marcus I shall point out that while it may allow one to unroll it, that may not actually activate its power."
With that however her eyes and hands glowed as she focused upon to ball of twine.

The pedestal has no mechanical mechinizims attached, however one must still be aware that magic is much harder to find...
You do notice the wall on the norther face, which has a depiction of Athena on it, is actually a statue embedded into the wall. It's likely that the depiction of Athena will awaken if anything where to cause trouble. The fact that nothing has happened yet shows a little hope for the situation.
Cantion
Cantion walks over and gives the wall sculpture of Athena a respectful bow.
The cleric waits for Patroclus to end his prayer before patting him on the shoulder.
"So, Patrolcus, now that we have asked for Athena's favor, let us see if the Goddess of Wisdom will allow us to use the twine. And I feel you should make the attempt", said the fawn, pulling on his chin beard thoughtfully.
Kandoo Krom
Let me try too, Titaia. - spoke Kandoo from his usual silent position, focusing on the pedestal - Maybe I can find something else we missed.

Immediately apon taking the Sphere it glows vibrant. A beam of light shines into the maze, and for a second you feel a question enter your mind. Where to? it asks. But surely as it does the statue of Athena shakes to life, it's eyes glowing red. The form of the goddess transforms, the beautiful plating and inscriptions breaking away as the statue became a huge bull, steam blasting from it's nostrils. Intruder! Theif! cries an alarm. The bull stands tall, it's hands formed into huge hammers and the depiction of Athena no longer apparent.
From here you can enter combat, or run

The mecanical Minotaur slams against the tunnel behind you, too large to fit in without squeezing. The shere sends a beam of light out into the maze, telling you where to goyou now automatically succeed navigation checks, however this doesn't prevent random encounters the tunnels are filled with the sound of the golem grinding against them.
Kandoo Krom
Kandoo shakes his head in agreement, but keeps his silence, preferring to keep the pace and following the light beam.

As the tunnels run on the sound of pursuit disappears. You make your way lead bt this magical sphere... Not even sure it's right... Or if your the only things that can see the thread of light.

Since I have the twine I guess I'm in the lead.
Patroclus will try to kick it twice after moving up 5'.

Instead of slapping it with his quarterstaff, Cantion gets an idea. The cleric reaches out his hand for a touch attack.
Touch attack: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (16) + 0 = 16
If that makes it, the moss is experiencing a Touch of Chaos.
The fawn then takes a 5-ft. step back to allow others to advance.

Still using his bull aspect, Kandoo attacks the moss with his gandasa.

"If we keep running into things I'm not going to have any magic left to battle the Minotaur."
A little proud of himself for successfully using a touch attack, Cantion looks to the amazon and replies, "Well, we had an excellent base of operations in the laboratory, but that is no longer an option", looking to Patrolcus and quickly adding, "of which, I blame no one."
"We just need to find a defenseable place to camp. I know I need to pray to Bacchus for some more spells."
