Hamailii and Lucian go unnoticed in their maneuverings to the edge of the fence.

Those two are now eligible for a surprise round action as well.

Rahger feels that the group is ready is attack. However, he looks carefully at the crodlu to determine if they are trained enough to take combat orders.

Ride: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

Regardless, Rahger will move to E5 and attack human 1.

Unarmed Strike with Power Attack: 1d20 + 11 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 11 - 1 = 27

Non Lethal Damage: 1d6 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 2 = 11

Realized my BAB is +5, so Power Attack should have another -1 to hit and +2 to damage. Not sure if editing it again would change the roll so I'll just put it here. Attack: 26 / Damage 13

Rahger has struck the first blow. The animal handler reels under the gut punch, but is still somehow standing. "What the?" he manages blurt and reaches for a carrikal hanging from his belt. Nearby Crodlu start to panic.

Hamailii, Lucian and Gideon may take a surprise round action. Those three are currently crouched before the fence, on row J.
After those actions are resolved, everyone who has not already may make the DC 11 initiative check to act before the tenders do.
FYI Rahger, you can edit roll modifiers without the dice changing.

Enemy status:
Handler 1 (AC 13 Touch 10, CMD 13) flat footed, 13 nonlethal damage
Handler 2 (AC 13 Touch 10, CMD 13) flat footed

Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Round 1

Lucian follows up with three more cards into the still standing? handlers.

The precisely aimed arrow and flurry of psionic cards cut down the handlers before they could even react. The nearby Crodlu fly into a panic and begin squawking loudly.

Both humans have fallen

Male Halfling Brawler 6 ; HP 36/50; DR 0 ; AC 19/ T 16/ FF 14; Fort +8, Ref +10, Will +4 ( or +6 vs fear); Init +4; Per +5; CMB +7 (or +10 for sunder), CMD 22 (25 vs sunder); Spd 20 ft

Rahger quickly checks the handler near him for any kind of crodlu feed or taming instrument.

He does what he can to calm the crodlu.
ride: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

"If we move the bodies, then the crodlu might settle down. Or we leave quick if not want them. "

Are both handlers dead?

There is a pile of feed on the Eastern side of the pen. You can attempt a Handle Animal check to calm the Crodlu down. You could also make a Heal check to determine if either of the two humans still live.

Male Halfling Brawler 6 ; HP 36/50; DR 0 ; AC 19/ T 16/ FF 14; Fort +8, Ref +10, Will +4 ( or +6 vs fear); Init +4; Per +5; CMB +7 (or +10 for sunder), CMD 22 (25 vs sunder); Spd 20 ft

I completely forgot about Handle Animal. ><

Rahger will try to calm the crodlu with feed.

Female Human (Gulg) Inquisitor (Nganga-Templar) 5/ Fighter (Gladiator) 1; HP 51/43; AC 22/ T 12/ FF 20; Fort +7, Ref +3, Will +7; Init +7; Per +10; CMB +5, CMD 17 (21 vs disarming); Spd 20 ft

Dai frowns as she hears the crodlu squawking. She moves up to the enclosure to keep an eye out for any investigating newcomers...before scaling the fence and helping Rahger quiet with the animals with feed....

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

Heal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

You are able to calm the beasts down in short order. A reconnoiter of the bodies shows that while the Southeastern tamer is quite dead, the other one, whom Rahger decked, is unconscious, but stable. Dukotti hops the fence and starts rummaging through the effects of the dead one.

Male Half-Giant Psychic Warrior 6th; HP 37/51 DR 0; AC 16/ T 11/ FF 15; Init +4; Per +12; CMB +8, CMD 19; Spd 30 ft; PP 16/29

Chumani will drag him over to some shade if he can find it. Once there he will bind, gag and then search him.

"Rahger and Gideon, when your ready can you scout up the path? How far behind you do you want the rest of us."

On him, you find:

6 ceramic pieces
1 Shortbow
1 Carrikal
12 Arrows
1 Light Shield
2 waterskins
5 days of rations
1 torch
1 Backpack
1 suit of leather armor (slightly bloody)

There are six Crodlu in the pen, each with a saddle. There is also a bale of vegetable matter, twenty Crodlu-days worth of sustenance. And finally, the basin in the middle of the pen contains enough water to refill your skins if you aren't too picky about a little lizard-bird saliva being mixed in.

Gideon will then go on ahead and scout as told, stealthily

Rennoc stays silent.

Chumani will gather the equipment, making sure to keep contact with his earth breaker so it does not return to where it came from, then move to mouth of the path and start trying to prepare for the coming fight.

Will manifest Thicken Skin Augmented +2 Natural AC / Cost 4 while waiting to hear from the scouts.

A minute passes, then another. No one is forthcoming.

Following the footpath up, Gideon reaches the edge of a cliff overlooking a canyon housing several tents and stone buildings. A small road winds down into the canyon. He can see that the canyon is bustling with activity. Men and women of various races are engaged in various forms of training – equal in hardship to the classes at any gladiatorial school. He observes Nadar being greeted by a powerfully built bald man with dark skin, and the two vanish into one of the tents. Cratek stands guard outside.

Gideon is well out of Message range at this point

Ok, it’s been 24 hours IRL with no response from Gideon. I’m loathe to force actions, but things should be moved along.

Gideon sneaks back down the trail and reports what he saw (see my previous post) to the party.

Uh this might be bad. We should have scouted ahead first before attacking. We should really find out what this place is and who it runs. Then we can consider our next actions. I don´t think it is wise to attack a place like that while we don´t know how many people or what else there is.

Male Elven UnRogue; HP 12/12; AC 17/ T 14/ FF 13; Fort +2, Ref +7, Will +2; Init +6; Per +7; CMB -1, CMD 13

Sorry, traveling that was delayed horrifically, and that is exactly as I'd have done

Eventually someone will notice the missing Crodlu handlers. We need to make and enact our plans now, before that

hp 49, ac 12, 12, 10, F 5+, R 4+, W 5+, Init 7+

I believe it is time to finish our business with our enemy, if you halfling can cause the herd to stampede in the direction of the camp I can call forth a dust storm to envelop part of the encampment. In the resulting chaos and confusion a few good archers and a mage can take out much of the camp's defenses... Once the dust has settled Chumani and Daishata can wade into the fray...

Wow calm down. Didn´t you hear what i just said? How about we handle this a bit more careful and strategically? We don´t even know how many people there are, how many of them are warriors or magic users. Or maybe they have some warbeasts hidden somewhere. And you just want to wade in there and attack everyone. You don´t even know if they are hostile yet.

Dai listens to all the options.

"I agree with Rennoc - to a degree. I say we wait for some folk to investigate, then obliterate them to reduce numbers, then go with Rennoc's plan. Or, if you think that the non-appearance of the handlers might elicit some defense on the part of the settlement let's just surprise them now. Also, perhaps we should fire flaming-arrows at the tents prior to the dust storm enveloping them…"

And you humans complain about the violence of elven tribes. Very well, i´ll go investigate. Don´t do stupid things while i´m down there!

She will try to sneak down there, hidden between the tents and different objects, trying to eavesdrop on some people to find out who they are and what they are doing there and if possible eavesdrop on Nadar.

I meant for some of the bad guys to come and investigate the disappearance of the handlers Hamaili!!! Then when they come we kill them to reduce the bad guys overall numbers...

Remember also that Daishata is not in charge - we wait for Chumani's okay...

Male Human Rogue (sniper) 6; HP 23/52; AC 16, 14, 12; F+4 R+9 W+3; init+4; CMD 17; Per+7

We could investigate more and locate Nadar and, under the cover of darkness, target him specifically

" Gideon say what Rahger think too. We want Nadar. If other get in way, then we take care of that. Best we know more of who is with Nadar so we kill only who we need."

So, so far I have Hamailii heading back up the trail. Anyone else?

Based on Gideon's description, you doubt anyone in the camp could see you on the overlook unless you were shooting spells up into the air. However, if someone was on the trail up, that would be a different matter.

Hamailii, Please correct your stats to level 5 ASAP

hp 49, ac 12, 12, 10, F 5+, R 4+, W 5+, Init 7+

Capturing Nadar alive may be important, but he only needs to be able to speak... He won't miss a few limbs...chopped off or otherwise.

As he speaks the last two words Rennoc gazes pointedly at the halfling's rather sharp teeth.

Chumani stops the think for a moment, "Lets stay out of sight and keep any eye on things for a half hour or less and see what happens. Maybe he is just here for a short meeting. Those that can watch unseen do so, everyone else stay out of sight ready to go if things escalate."

Will the next half-hour bring us confrontation with this village?

hp 49, ac 12, 12, 10, F 5+, R 4+, W 5+, Init 7+

Is Nadar in charge of the camp?

It isn't a question you ask. It is a course of action you suggest. (If successful) it then tells you some combination of Weal and/or Woe regarding that course of action

Male Elven UnRogue; HP 12/12; AC 17/ T 14/ FF 13; Fort +2, Ref +7, Will +2; Init +6; Per +7; CMB -1, CMD 13

Ah yes, that proves just how out of it I am. Hmm, well maybe we should just ask how moving on the camp would work out? Any opinions?

Around the time Gideon and Hamailii get back to the overlook, the pair emerges from the tent and everyone in the camp is called together. They form disciplined ranks and fall silent in an instant. You’d estimate the force is at least a few hundred strong. The man accompanying Nadar speaks for all to hear: “The time is nearing. Lord Thaxos is making the final preparations as we speak. Master Nadar has been sent to retrieve a band for a most important mission. I will personally select the men and women to go with him. The rest of us will remain here until further notice and keep training. When the time comes we will all be rewarded for our efforts.” He then proceeds to pick out the ones that will go with Nadar, a total of four men and two women.

The six chosen:

A tanned human man with curly brown hair and pale blue eyes. His face is pockmarked with scar tissue, probably from chemical burns. He has a dagger tucked into his knotted rope belt, but wears no armor.
* You know that his name is Crakos. He was once a defiler of moderate power in Draj, but was cast out and disfigured with acid some time after the fall of Tectuktitlay.

A dark skinned dwarf woman, covered from foot to toe in toe in tattoos of various geometric designs. She is not carrying any visible weapons or wearing any armor.
* Her name is Borras and she is a loyal agent of House Vordon. A fairly powerful Psion, she prefers to manifest bolts and blasts of energy in battle.

A tall and impressively muscled elf man. The countenance of an elemental drake is tattooed across his face. He wears leather armor and is armed with a longbow and elven longblade.

A half elf man. Unarmed and unarmored. A shock of blond hair tops his head and his eyes are a piercing blue.

A mul man, whose body is covered in tattoos. On his bald forehead is a red circle, indicating status as a gladiator-slave. Across his bared arms are inked figures of animals and people. He wears a sleeveless leather jerkin and carries a heartpick and throwing axes.

An exotic human woman with ebony skin and yellow eyes. She wears a pair of small macahuitls at her hips.

* - Knowledge: Local results for the two that are there. You don’t know anything about the others.

Hamailii:

You also recognize the elf. His name is Mutami and he is a member of the Nightrunners, your tribe. The Nightrunners often act as spies and assassins in a mercenary capacity and that is probably what is going on here. Mutami doesn’t have any special abilities, but is fairly well trained in the martial and sneaking arts.

Just as Nadar and the chosen mercenaries are preparing to leave the camp, a pack of six gaunt creatures rounds a boulder not thirty feet distant. Shambling along with a hunched gaits are muscular humanoids with pale tan skin and covered in ruddy hair. Their bodies are lean and utterly devoid of fat, their arms end in blunt black claws while broken yellow teeth jut at crooked angles from their broadly grinning mouths. Each carries a crude sword made from bone. While they haven’t spotted you, they are pawing at the ground as they shuffle nearer as if looking for tracks.

They look like this.

Knowledge: Local DC 12:

These are sligs. They are voracious carnivores since they are incapable of storing body fat. This does take its toll on their their stamina however (Low Constitution). They can communicate telepathically with each other. They are extremely good at tracking. Even though you’re hidden now, it is likely they will find you given enough time.

My apologies to everyone who stayed below with the Crodlu, splitting the party is always a little awkward.
