I have done the separated prologues in the past. I love it. Always have, always will.
With a less trusty GM I could fear the game going down before we unite, but Shadowteller sure can be trusted.
Only thing I can't know for sure is... Will I dick over the guards? Will they dick over me? In a completely surprising turn of events, will we get along without dickishness, dickeries or betrayal? Only time will tell.

In most games I start this way.
Yes no worries, this game will not die and I shall not disappear.
Yep, I can't know for sure either I am looking forward to finding out! :-)

Well if you're going to do prologues like this, pbp is probably the best way. I also like because it allows us to go solo if we want to.
Yes many of my players separate and go rogue from the group!
I don't think I've had my Way of the Wicked group in the same place in months!
Running Vampire for a long time though you get used to DMing separate sessions within the overall session so no big deal.

Yeah that's a better surprise then what I got after coming home from work. Freakin Manshoon just popped up. Game Over Man!
Well I don't think it's gotten to that point but Storyteller is twisted so you never know. ;P
P.S. It happens Suni, sometimes your the hustler. Sometimes you get hustled, as long as you don't get your throat cut then it's all good.

As much as I'd love roleplaying eith the guards (I took a liking to them) I am still camping and as such I can't get a post that I find truly worth it.
Please assume I at least ask them their names, offer to pay them a round and where to find them before moving Vlad forward.
DM Dreadmaster
I am now halfway done with Prologues.
Suni/Pox should be done shortly.
Dorn, may have a few more back and forth before he is through.
Ja'far a few more as well.
My plan is to have all Prologues done before I go on vacation and when I return in early September, have the entire group together to learn more about where they will be going though the "what you will be doing" will be a mystery till you get there :-)
I have some surprises along the way to be sure!
DM Dreadmaster
Once Ja’far jumps in on the last of his Prologue interactions, the whole band will be together and the game will speed up :-)
This should be an offbeat adventure to start with and will set up higher level adventures as well. Ah, story synergies... :-)
DM Dreadmaster
Sorry for the wait, I got back from the gym not too long ago.
I can't wait to really start this adventure.
No worries, that was on the DM who went on vacation, damn slacker!

You know, I realized, pretty much any mid lvl mage could easily just cast dispel at me and revert me back to my natrual form. Not to mention beholders, Anti-magic fields, or true-sight.
Honestly it's only an inevitability that the party will learn Suni is a shapechanger. But I'd like to keep that secret for the RP value, at least until the ability becomes useful.

Well, Vlad has no quarries against shapechangers. Hell, being a were-wolf matches perfectly fine his 'Power at all cost'. Hell, having friends and allies is another power by itself.
Also, I'll post later today because I started classes a couple days ago and lost track of updates. My most sincere and bastardly apologies.
Dorn Xizurth
I would advise you keep it a secret until you "trust" the party members a little bit and tell them. As being a shapechanger and keeping that secret could blow up in your face in a number of ways. Also in general Zhents being somewhat paranoid by nature and security minded, may be your biggest worry at the moment. Assuming the higher ups don't already know, being in a temple full of priest with no one to vouch for you should they find out. You could easily end up on one of their alters as a would be spy. ;)

I like that this game has basically turned into a whodunit.
I find my games often take odd twists.
Vorik (and you! and Omni!) can attest to that in the all Lycans Greyhawk game :-)
S@~% there's a lot of overlap there...
DM Dreadmaster
I apologise Pox, Suni is only doing what he believes is appropriate. After all, to anger those above you is to bring dishonor to your family...
Not like he hasn't already, but it's best to keep in line.
Besides, I see no issue into admitting your with me on some business.
Indeed you would not, that's why I had YOU be the one to bring Pox into the fold! ;-)

Considering all the games Shadow runs, as well as all the crossover, there's bound to be a few he forgets!

Yeah you're no doubt right. Still better go eat my feelings just in case.
S*$* I did forget! My apologies ;-(

Yes hi
I was invited by shadow and so I build this wonderful soon to be bard of dragon blood
The Pox
Hi there and welcome!
On the other subject, I'm not going to aim for coming to blows, certainly. I know it's an evil campaign so I expect we may not always get along, to say the least, but it's still an RPG that requires some level of collaboration.
That said, Pox isn't just going to let someone throw him under the bus. At the same time, he's not going to pick a fight over nothing either. His motivations at this point are largely survival, not ambition.
