hey I coulda sworn I made a post where the summoned creatures attacked and Korian cast Mirror Image than ran and hid again. Is it really gone and I have to do it again or can I just not see it for some reason or did I just dream it??
Also Korian was going to gurgle through the blood spurting out of his mouth that Orivid get in the fight, but seeing as how the second I suggest someone get in the fight they die, I won't be doing that. I think instead he'll shout something like 'save yourslef old friend!'
PS do runes still work if you see them in a mirror? Just curious. Also, to be clear, is the Archon gone? It was in immaterial form and shouldn't be too easy for a mummy dragon to kill. I think?

I don't see a post about mirror image. I'm making the rolls 'in front of the screen' because it is a very deadly fight.

Must have just planned the post in my head but not posted it then. Well everything I said is exactly what he does then. Only addition is that he'll call out...
"Everyone, RUN, save yourselves! We cannot defeat this creature!"
Stealth:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
and his running will be in the direction of one of the exits, out it if possible. Can the dragon fit through the doors in the room? The summonings continue to attack of course. Also still wondering DM, is the Archon there or not?
Ovirid Thorvirson
"Everyone, RUN, save yourselves! We cannot defeat this creature!"
Ovirid's thinking: "Torag, Ah dinnae speak t' ye often, but Ah'm thinkin' Ah'm gonna be needin' yer 'elp t' get outta 'is if'n ye 'ave plans fer me..."
Was Ovirid able to locate Hroken's prone form in his careful retreat last round? He would have moved 20', sweeping the floor with his feet as he moved.
If he did: Ovirid crouches by the half-orc's face, draws a potion of cure light wounds, and coaxes it down the fallen fighter's throat.
If he did not: Ovirid continues to move cautiously, searching for the fallen fighter.
And in either case, he's moving as quietly as he can, given the circumstances and his activity: Stealth 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

My sincere apologies Terran, you are absoloutly right. All is says about them is
Their bodies, however, are merely globes of spiritual purity and pale light, and though they might interact with their surroundings through pure force of will, such interaction proves too weak to help with most physical tasks.
However they do also have there qualaties and it does also say this:
A lantern archon has little reason to get within melee range. It usually hovers just close enough to bring the enemy within its aura of menace, then blasts away with its light rays. Lantern archons prefer to concentrate on a single opponent, seeking to reduce enemy numbers quickly.
Aura of menace, damage reduction 10/evil, darkvision 60 ft., immunity to electricity and petrification, magic circle against evil, greater teleport, tongues
So, not that it's too important now I guess, but it seems like it may have stood a good chance of surviving an encounter with the dragon, at least for a little bit, no?
And finally, was an honest mistake that. I'm not sure now where I got the idea that they could be immaterial, but I have been playing them that way in another PbP for more than a year now
Tarren the Dungeon Master
It seemed logical to me that they might be. It certainly sounded plausible. I mean, they do seem to be mostly light. Solid light? How odd.
The dragon is small compared to the mature specimens of its species. It COULD fit through the doors and give chase. At the moment, however, it is focused on taking care of the pets.
Esteban restrains himself admirably and grabs only two handfuls of gold as he crosses the river and follows the party out.

Sooo, safe to say we all make all haste to the elevator? And once all gathered there Korian gives the command to go up? Also, if Orivid can't revive his 'eyes' Korian won't forget his old friend and will make his way to the dwarf and help him out quick as possible.
Tarren the Dungeon Master
Not sure exactly what the dragon mummies current situation is but Sykala is ready to have a crocodile attack it if needed.
In a real-time game, I might go through the attacks to cover your retreat but at this point, I'm pretty sure the mummy is going to chew through anything you throw at him without much damage.
You safely retreat to the elevator, dragging an unconscious Hrokon behind you. The dragon seems content to stay in the chamber that it guards. A crackle of lightning lights the corridor but only after you have reached the safety of the elevator.
Korian Allande
Making sure everyone left alive is safely aboard the elevator Korian gives the command for the gloem to begin the long trek back up.
That done the young mage slumps the the corner, his blood staining his once white garments.
Reaching into his haversack his quaffs a couple of potions to help heal his grevious wounds and stop the outpouring of his life fluid
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 91d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Was Ovirid able to administer a CLW potion to Hrokon? Was it sufficient to bring him around?
"'at 'appened t' 'asim? Ah dinnae 'ear 'is voice wit' us! We didna leave 'im alone wit' 'atever scared ye away from yer gold, did we?"
Hrokon is still in negative hp but he's stabilized.
This elevator can ascend to the upper floor with the telescope, the floor with the crushing room trap, or the floor with the exit blocked by an invisible force. Where do you go?

This elevator can ascend to the upper floor with the telescope, the floor with the crushing room trap, or the floor with the exit blocked by an invisible force. Where do you go?
I forget - did we investigate everything on the floor with the invisible force?
"C'n someone get th' 'alf-orc back 'n 'is feet? We're gonna be 'n a jam if'n we 'ave t' drag 'im through th' 'ole pyramid."
Korian Allande
"Of course my friend" Korian answers the tenmporarily blind Dwarf "As always your wisdom guides us."
As Korian is pouring another CLW gently down Hrokon's throat (1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8) he takes some time before answering Orovid"s other question, and is voice is heavy with sorrow, anger and guilt as he does "Asim, warrior of warrior's is...is no longer with us. His bravery and valor may have allowed us all to escape but the dragon proved to much for him and he is...more. There...there was nothing left, no body even to try and recover..."
Korian's voice hitches at this point but then grows stronger "But I swear to you he shall not be forgeten and if there be a way to bring him back from death's door I shall see it done"
Weary, and a changed young man from the one who entered the tomb Korian finishes with "I think it is past time for us to leavew this cursed tomb. It is my thinking that perhaps one of the items from the last pharoah's tomb may allow us to pass the field. Otherwise I am not sure how he can exit this place."
Are there any other unexplored areas DM?
Tarren the Dungeon Master
There are no unexplored rooms or corridors.
Hrokon coughs and tries to scream. All that comes out is a raw-throated hissing noise. He opens his eyes and sees Korian, then slowly turns his head and sees the others.
Esteban fidgets and looks at Korian as if he wants to say something but turns to Sykala and Ixius instead, "Leave? He means 'kill the dragon, get the gold, and then, by all means, leave.' Right?'"
Tarren the Dungeon Master
Ixius laughs at Esteban. "I don't think we can kill that dragon. If you have any ideas how to do it without getting us all killed I'm all ears."
"Well," says Ixius in complete seriousness, "I don't see how we're going to get the gold without killing the dragon. If you have any ideas how to do that without getting us all killed, I'm all ears."
Hrokon, now sitting up, pulls a wand out of a backpack. "Anyone know how to use this? Lonicera used to heal me up with it when I was like this."
Korian Allande
Korian merely looks at Estaban but answers Hroken "Ixus or I can try it Hrokon, but you do know, it's going to hurt"
If it ends up being Korian who tries it please feel free to roll as many times as necessary
He may even end up trying or getting it used on himself, can you remind us what the wand's effects are DM?
As a player, part of me would love to give the dragon another shot and I Kinda feel that with the right spells and tactics prepared it may even be possible. But I'm also cool to just leave and forget about it too.

Sykala can use a wand of CLW if she wants, can't she? There are 50 charges in this one. Enough to get everyone up to full easily.
You should discuss what you want to do. You have choices but some might not be easy to figure out.
Sykala
The little elemental grinds it's disapproval at the mention of going back into the predator's den. Suspecting that divine magics may be involved and wanting the "pack", as she likes to think of them, healthy in case the dragon decides to hunt them, she takes the wand from Hrokon to see if she can use it.
NINJA'ed! Great minds think alike :)
Ovirid Thorvirson
"H'roken, 't's good t' 'ear yer voice. 'at's 'is ye 'ave? D'ye 'ave 'ny other secrets ye 'ave been keepin' from yer old friend? Like mebbe 'ow yer ol' boss thought 'e would be fer gettin' outta 'is place?"
Pause.
"Wait. Didja jus' say dragon? As 'n, we jus' escaped from a dragon? 'n ye want t' be fer goin' back? What type o' dragon does 't 'appen t' be? 'n 'at did ye lads find 'n the bone-box? Ye 'ad plenty o' time t' find somethin', mebbe ye 'ave a key 'n dinnae ken 't yet."
Korian Allande
Ah, ok I was thinking he meant the rod of wracking, didn't know he had a wand.
Korian's still down 14hp if Sykala wants to give him a few shots from the wand
DM, just to confirm, the only exit we're currently aware of is the way we came in, right? And we've explored every visible area and no secret doors have been found yet?
"Aye old friend, 'twas a dragon, bronze or blue by my best guess. A young one, well, young before it was mummified that is" giving a moment for his words to sink in, Korian continues
"And yes, we did 'rescue' a few items from the tomb" says the young mage, patting his haversack "but we do not yet know what they are, taking caution of the runes I had my elementals put them in my bag without my seeing them."
Leaning his head back against the wall Korian finishes "Unless any of you disagree I suggest we had back up to the room of numbers and rest there. With Ixus' and your vast store of wisdom old dwarf I feel sure we can unravel the mystery of the items and of how to exit this place"
After Orivid questions the half-orc and gets his reply Korian turns to Estaban saying "And you? How $many times have we saved your life now? I've lost count. I'm sure you were privy to more of the Paracount's plans. Perhaps you might find yourself in the mood to actually contribute something useful to the group?
You know, so that next time your life needs saving agin we actually feel it's worth the effort"

You have found no secret doors after searching all visible areas (other, of course, than in the room with the dragon.)
I can't really answer the question about exits.

Esteban shrugs, "I'm here as a guide to the Mwangi. The Paracount expected to find the key to open some kind of gate here. The gate is possibly in the Mwangi. For getting him there, the Paracount promised me twenty Chelish legionnaires. I suppose you've killed most of them."

Hmmm well thanks for the answers DM and I completly understand how you don't want to give away any clues or secrets we need to figure out for ourselves
but I meant more like, since we have no map, it's hard to keep track of where we've been, what we've seen and where other likely exits might be. And then it's more difficult over the long period of time of a PbP to keep track of all that kind of thing
Is there could we say look at the map our characters have made of the place (or could make if we haven't) and the roll an intelligence check or knowledge check to see if we can pick up any ideas from it? If I had a map to look at I could do it myself but without one just trying to figure a way to make it work
In the meantime, unless anyone disagrees can we say that we've made it back to the numbers room and have time to rest and investigate the items now?

I'll think about how to resolve this. The solution may not become apparent even if I show you a map. It wasn't obvious to me and I had the map.
Korian suggested ascending the elevator to the level with the countdown clock and the giant telescope where you stayed the night previously. Does everyone agree?

"I will be glad to do that my friend, thank you. I'll just make sure to avoid that rune page" answers the young mage as he accepts the glasses
"Also it has just occured to me that we have not yet dealt with that swarm of body parts. What say ye all that as our beautiful druidess has healed us all we deal with that irritation before we rest?"

"Ok I have two ideas" says Korian, his battle spirit rising again "Firstly, either plan, if she is agreeable our elemental scout can take a quick peek in the next room to see what transpires in there."
"Then, plan A is Estaban opens the door, I cast a grease spell on the swarm and Ixus lights it on fire"
"Plan B is I summon a swarm of rats to appear on the other side of this door and have it attack the swarm of body parts"
"Either way, Hrokon your job is to be ready to charge in case anything unexpected comes out and otherwise to protect the good dwarf"
"What say you all to these ideas? Or have you any of your own?"
Not sure if the Grease is flammable or if I need LoS to place the swarm though?
Tarren the Dungeon Master
The druidess flows through the wall and up toward the ceiling. Passing through to the chamber on the other side she peers down to see what is there.
The room has changed a great deal since you left it. The organs that were swirling around in the room took many of the jars of embalmed organs off of the shelves smashing them. They've recruited those newly freed organs into their undeath.
Although it lacks bones to give it form or skin to protect it, the organs are trying to find their original shape.
The slide around on the ground in a shape that approximates the form of a man.
Korian Allande
Seeing Sykala's signal but not knowing anything of the mute elementals plans and also not hwring anything from his seemingly $ute allies Korian makeas up his mind saying
"Ok, Estaban, when I tell you open the door quickly, I'll cast a swarm of rats in the room, then shut the door again right away. We'll lwet them fight it out and, ah, pick up the pieces"
The young mage finishes with a smirk
Thought it mighjt be a little fun to have the 3 swarms duke it out. PS remember Korian's swarm gets the benefits from his augment summoning feat and his summoner's charm magic school abiliy ie stronger and lasts longer
