I can't tell if she just has high AC (> 24 but <= 30) or if there's something else going on here. Some dispels on her would be super useful but I get the impression we're out of luck on that front.
Eris Triguna
Yeah Acatha didn't want to give us much prep time so a lot of scrolls I would have purchased I didn't get the time to. I'm unsure though if dispelling would be effective. You kinda want to make a CL check and if the caster is a higher level than I am (almost certainly) it's a little unlikely to be successful.
Maybe we try and remove the crown?

Going to need to do something about Sabina and the maidens - they're going to murder us in a few rounds.
Eris Triguna
I could hit Sabina with a hold person - but I need someone to then clean up the maidens. Do we want to lay off the queen for one round and clear the maidens?
Sa'Kage
Sorry to hear that, hopefully you're on the mend!

I'm taking the family off on holiday from Saturday till 29th August. We're going on a cruise so there'll be days where I don't have internet. I'll try to post when I can but it's probably best to bot me as needed.
Sa'Kage
Stalwart, that mission was cool. Good stuff sir!
DM Stalwart
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I have a few ideas for the next chapter -- I want to get you out of Varisia for starters, but I want to know if there's any spots in Golarion you'd like to visit and explore.
Please share any locales that have you interested in infiltrating and finding targets to assassinate.
Eris Triguna
I'm going to preface this by saying that I don't mind much about where we head next - I'll be excited all the same. Lawless / Chaotic kinda places like Kyonin, Galt, Shackles are always my favourite though.
Sa'Kage
Likewise I don't have any strong preferences although I agree those sound like good options. How about Kintargo?

I'm sorry for not posting much. My daughter has grown more and more sick until she was admitted to the hospital on Friday morning. She's still there. After many tests, they're treating her for an auto immune disorder. She's getting better, but we don't know when she'll be out. So my attention has been rather split.
DM Stalwart
I'm all good. The storm didn't cause much more than a mess in my yard and a mercifully short power loss.
My main issue now is a computer on the fritz so lengthy posts are hard on the phone.
Let me know if you want me to move things along -- I thought a trip to Mediogalti would be fun for some R&R. But if you're eager to move on, I'll get you going.

Totally understand, Dax. Take care of her. No rush.
Sa'Kage
Hope she's getting better, as a parent myself that sounds like a complete nightmare.
Sa'Kage
Uh they're not really going to let Kage walk out with a minor artifact are they? :)
Sa'Kage
Oh dear, terrible sorry to hear that, our thoughts will be with you.
Lilith Stark
I recall Stal saying that we would hit Level 8 soon.
Sa'Kage
If we get stuck with some wanting to stay and some wanting to go, perhaps some kind of divination would be useful. Kage is completely torn about this and could be persuaded to do either.
Lilith Stark
I'm going to be withdrawing from the game. It was a good run. I definitely enjoyed my time here. Thanks for having me.
Sa'Kage
I'm flying to Montreal on business tomorrow, returning Wednesday/Thursday. It's not a super long flight (7h 30 or so) but I'm really tired so I may not post till Monday depending on how I feel. I'll try and get a post up before I go, but tonight I'm going to spend with my wife.
DM Stalwart
Okay, there might be a little misconception going on here. You've purchased the ability to appear before the king, so that's already going to happen. Eliste's "side job" as it were is just that -- a little side quest that you're free to accept or decline as you (the players) see fit. You can set your price at whatever you feel is appropriate, since you're working without the "proper channels" as it were.
It seems a little odd that you would willingly add the assassination of Pakesh as an extra price when you've already paid it.
DM Stalwart
I'm trying to figure out how to help you. There's several options in front of you, (and don't just limit it to these -- I'm mainly just listing here what you've already suggested).
Option 1: pose as aristocrats from Varisia or some other country outside of the River Kingdoms. King Irovetti could help with that, and he seems like someone who could spin a convincing lie.
Option 2: enter the competitions to get a close-up of the targets (could be tied to Option 1).
Option 3: directly go to them and introduce yourselves and make nice.
Option 4: recruit Eliste Strocalle, since she knows a lot of the ins and outs around here (for gather information checks and such).
Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to do or need from me.
Eris Triguna
Assuming boasting is just bluffing, I could probably win that competition if we wanted to go down that route though.
My preferred option (at least just for Eris) is for Eris to trial seducing / pretending to be seduced by Maxwell with the support of Eliste who would both manage to increase my chances at isolating Maxwell, but also potentially allowing us to learn more. Clearly, if this fails or I need a second "in" I could participate in the boasting competition, and if I win it, and am not pretending to be a Purple Lady, I could shift that into Option 1 posing as an aristocrat - but I don't favor the acistocrat idea personally and would prefer doing so as a last resort.
Sa'Kage
Why not try both? Kage has a reasonable bluff although he's no bard (glibness is hax at +20). I don't he would will but he might come a respectable second or third and perhaps get invited into any post competition celebrations.
Meanwhile Eris can do her thing... I like the idea of pretending to be nobles from somewhere far away particularly if we're publicly seen not to be the the King's best graces (we were late and our gift was barely adequate!). Idea there is to avoid suspicion.
What do Jon and Alanyna plan to do? Other contests? Acting as waiters or bored nobles?
DM Stalwart
I think it's starting to take shape...
Alenaya wants to approach them directly. Which is perfectly fine.
Eris wants to try bumping into Maxwell accidentally on purpose and maybe enter the competition.
Jon wants to pose as an aristocrat and enroll in a competition.
Kage wishes to enter the competition.
(Oh, there was also some interest interest in the menagerie, I think. Alenaya, would you want to check it out?)
I'll put something up tonight, so if you want to give me more details before then, I'll incorporate that into the posts.
