Casting: When casting a spell defensivly if you fail you do not automaticly lose the spell, rather you provoke an attack as you normally would for not casting defensive. If you are hit you must make a concentration check dc 10+damage taken if you fail this check you lose the spell.

Rolls:
Many rolls will be handled by the GM in secret.(don't worry, I don't fudge.)
Any result that can influence the character behavior will not be rolled open.
Rolls that will be handled by the GM:
Perception
Sense Motive.

if you make the check I will send you a pm or make a post and put it in a spoiler depending on the situation.

Sometimes I will roll Initiative others I will ask you to roll depending on the situation. In some situation (rarely) I will bypass init entirely and have you all go first and enemies second or have enemies go first and you all go after.

Combat rules:
I'm a fair GM, I dont roll combat in secret, I don't change results, I don't ignore bad calls from the characters.
Sometimes, character dies, but I'm not a player killer, if I think that an encounter will be easy handled, when it should be more challenging, I will make it a more challenging, if the party it's not prepared to face something, I will drop hints, if they insist... well killing one or two players never made me lack sleep...

Actions:
I'm a GM that do not punish the character for trying something new or cool, or even strange. Visual appealing actions are encouraged, the dc will of course depend on what are you trying, but you can try! If what you want to do is wicked cool, I can even bend the game mechanics to allow it! The most importat part is: You are villains. Villains are smart, resourceful and have style! Have you ever seen a memorable villain that could just swing his sword and do nothing more?

Posting Rate
If it could be done, I expect 1/day posting, if you can post more, it will really good.
During weekend, this rule does not apply. If you are able to post, great! But dont stress over this, everyone need some time to rest (In my case, I need time to play and DM :D on my tabletop games).

Level up
Aside from character creation, when you level up, if you want something not from core rulebook, you'll need to search it inside the game. basicly what you need to do is just show in game your character is searching for that knowledge. This rule is not meant to prohibit anything, I just don't like something like this: "Character always as a full caster, never picked up a sword in his entire life, and then he gain a new level and says: Master, I'll level up as a fighter now..."

Varn *really* needs a rest. I only have one spell left, and it's Obscuring Mists... I'd love to go rushing out and crack some cultist skulls as well, but just know Varn won't be of much use.

Varn lets out an angry sigh at his inability to assist his new mentor's condition. "Of course, Aravashial! I will speak with them; we will investigate the library. I pray we may still find some of the Riftwardens alive."

With that, Varn proceeds rejoin his companions before they disperse to look around at any available wares. "Tomorrow morning we must go the library first thing! Aravashial just informed me there was lore stored in the library which concerned the possibility of closing the Worldwound for good! Unfortunately... if the cultists find this lore, it could potentially be used to open another Wound."

If you going out I would recommend either topaz solutions or the tower of Estrod(the two remaining safehouses). The grey garrison is a fortress and the region were the demons and cultist are the most active.

Looking for Mwk Duelling sword with cold iron blade, >25%: 1d100 ⇒ 31
In a disused corner of the armory, Orlando discovers a nobles weapon, a swept hilt dueling sword with a cold iron blade!
Laying out 340 crowns and his old rapier, he makes the trade.

Tessai walks around the stalls, greeting both the guards and craftsmen around - she feels confident with Radiance in her scabbard, and decides to invest solely in a new, reinforced backpack, to allow her to redistribute the weight carried.

Buying Masterwork Backpack - 50gold

As she turns to leave, a scabbard catches her attention, its fine worksmanship, silver like sheen, and design of what seemed entwined scales remind her of Terendelev, and she unconsciously reaches for the mighty dragon scale, admiring its beauty.

Without hesitating, she pays for the beautiful piece, offering to trade in his old scabbard.

DireMerc, what would be an acceptable price for a 'cool' scabbard? 25gold? :D

Removing Radiance from the its old, battered sheath, the tiefling cannot help but admire the beauty of the blade momentarily, then sliding it into its new home with a smile.

DireMerc, I don't think I see the Topaz Solutions on the map.

Returning to her companions, she offers - "I believe I am all set to go my friends - after inquiring around, it seems the closest safehouse would be the Tower of Estrod - that should perhaps be our next destination?"

Guys, I was thinking of also buying perhaps a Masterwork Agile Breastplate [would improve my AC by 1 -> 21 with shield, 19 without (to 2h Radiance)], or maybe a MW Composite (+4) Longbow. What do you think?

Ah yes I didn't put in down because you didn't know were it was. However now that your here you can ask around someone is sure to know. I will add it to the map shortly

Tessai, get the Breastplate.

Orlando, seeing Tessai's backpack, immediately goes out and gets one as well.

"My friends, I am ready. But Tessai, did we not promise to escort Master Aravashial to the Library first?"

Thanks for the feedback Orlando - I ended up going with a Kikko Armor ;) Also got some holy water and alchemist's fire. Indeed we were planning on taking Aravashial to the Library, but then DireMerc hinted at the fact that he would suggest us going to the Tower of Estrod or Topaz Solutions, and I got a little confused - now that I think about it, perhaps the idea was simply these vs. The Gray Garrison?

Varn, can you scribe scrolls? Would you be willing to scribe one or two for me ifI pay for the mats? I wanted to have two scrolls of shield - would you carry them, and cast the spells on me when the opportunity presents itself? I trust in your judgment on when to use tham :D Would you tell me how long it takes to create them - maybe it is pointless at this time.

Orlando also grabs a couple of magazines of cold iron crossbow bolts.

Topaz solutions added to map. I was about to do it earlier when I lost the power.

Tessai nods at Orlando - "Very well then, let us escort master Aravashial to the library first and foremost - from our possible destinations, it is the furthest possible one. Let us make haste, so we can ascertain if all is well on site" - Tessai grabs her backpack, and gets ready to move out.

She moves out in advance, bow ready, scouting 20-30' ahead of the rest of the party, and peeking around corners etc as they move through the ruined town.

Aravashial is hesitant to go before he has the chance to prepare his spells but if you feel you can handle it he would be willing to go now.

Are you heading out to another location such as the tower of Estrod or waiting until morning to go to the library?

Seeing Tessai and her brand new backpack, Selka decides to follow her example and buy a reinforced pack as well, to help her better carry her equipment.

Just as Tessai did, buying Masterwork Backpack for 50 gp.

Selka crosses her arms and nods to herself, while pondering the alternatives - "With the city in this condition there is not a moment to spare... However going out unprepared would be too risky. Our foes are deadly, and we need to be in our best shape if we want to have a chance to defeat them."

"Let's rest for today, and tomorrow... We will make the demons pay!"

Aravashial seems to be quite insistent about the library. Should we listen to the blind mage? Selka if fine with either choice, but if it comes down to a tie, she'd vote for the library. ^_^

I don't think these are mutually exclusive actions. Aravashial won't be ready until the morning, though how a blind mage can read his spellbook.... Anyways, we can go out clear a safe house, return to the inn for the night and still go to the library in the morning.

Whatever you guys want to do. Varn will be way, way in the back with a bow though. No spells left and minimal armor. I'm thinking about picking up a wand of mage armor and a masterwork backpack as well. Sorry I was MIA for a few days, my wife pulled a muscle in her neck on Thursday morning and so I had to take care of the little man all weekend while she recouped.

Wand of Mage Armor: 1d100 ⇒ 8
Masterwork Backpack: 1d100 ⇒ 30

After taking his leave of Aravashial, Varn wanders about to look at acquiring some new gear to assist with their travels. He finds a well-made backpack that appears superior to his old and purchases the finely tooled pack. 50gp on MW backpack

He continues to wander and comes upon a wand. After a moment of consorting with the vendor, he learns the wand will allow him to cast Mage Armor upon himself or others 25 times before the wand will become inert. He spends a good portion of his gold on the wand before making his way back to the group. 375gp on Wand of Mage Armor (25 charges)

Not a bad idea actually. I'm assuming you head to the tower possibly after buying some scrolls.

You head out and make in to the base of the tower without bumping into any problem.

This sixty-foot-diameter gray stone tower is missing the bulk of its upper floors—some terrific force smashed its upper sections away, creating huge mound of rubble north of the building and leaving the tower now a mere stump with a jagged top. Still at least three floors remain.

At the base of the tower four guards stand in front of the entrance. They haven't noticed you approaching yet.

Orlando pauses and takes out his silver scale. His image shiversAlter Self and resolves itself into one of the corrupted templars you had met downbelow.
"Tessai," He whispered, "do you still have that darkwood case the sword of Yaniel came in? I want to try something."
He takes out the note that was found on the leader then, reviews it, then puts it away again.

Need any die rolls for bluff etc?

The guards grow more weary as the rest of the group comes out and eyes several of you with suspicion but even so they let you enter.

After passing the guards, Tessai whispers to the others, if they find a moment all to themselves as they move to the third floor - "It eats me inside just being amongst these curs - what is the plan friends? Gather as much information from this Faxon character, and then capturing him?"

You make your way inside and the bottom floor seems to have been cleared out and bedrolls placed along the floor. A small kitchen is set aside o the western end of the room. Two more cultists are sitting at a table playing a game of dice when you come in.

You notice that two of the four guards outside have followed you in.

They rise when you come in.

They offer you some stew and tell you to use any bedroll you want if your tired.

Orlando is directed to bring the case to Faxon upstairs but he must go alone nobody is allowed upstairs without a good reason.

It looks like 4 where we are, two more at the entrance, and who knows how many more upstairs. I was planning to meet with this Faxon guy to garner some information from him regarding this place, and perhaps about the cultists organization in Kenabres, but I guess that will be up to Orlando now ;)
