Valgrim: Just as a side discussion, I'm not sure how you would defeat a Great Wyrm Red Dragon in a anti-magic field that entirely encompassed it. Makes it completely immune to spells and martial characters have a hell of a time hitting it frequently. God forbid that it should remain flying and out of reach. I suppose it would require a lot of careful planning, like luring it somewhere it cannot fly and dropping the ceiling on it or something. It would be really really tough though. I mean they should be tough but wow...it would be truly be beyond legendary to ever kill one.
Valgrim Twin-Axe
It can be done, but you need some martial characters to distract it while a ranged archer ranger could do it. The normal arrows would do normal damage and the anti-magic field would cancel dragon's DR. Add deadly aim and all the archer feats and favored enemy bonus and it could be done. Right now without those feats with a composite longbow of 22 strength, Valgrim, without any feats, would be at:
+18 base
+2 dex
+4 inspire
+2 blessing of fervor
+2 favored enemy
Hasted: +28/+28/+23/+18/+13
1d8+6+4+2= 1d8+12 (imagine character with archer feats and better Dex)
Assuming AC in 30s with no buffs due to AMF, 2-3 hits possibly per round
No breath weapon/spells for dragon, just need martial characters to keep him off ranger. Only way I see it.
EDIT: Ouch 39 AC! Maybe harder to kill...If dragon closes on ranger, hope barbarian with greataxe full-attacks him. LOL...
The Worm That Walks
True true, you still managed to heavily bloody the dragon's nose even as depleted as you are. Your spring attacks were working well. Do you think that having to attack through the anti-magic field would affect you terribly, assuming your not attacking it while it's flying? Yeah, less damage but your crits are still going to add up. Curious, more than anything.
Valgrim Twin-Axe
While flying we had no way to reach it. Surprising something so big can hover! :) In AMF, I would lose Bull's Strength and +4 from weapon, so that's -6 hit, -7 damage.
Valgrim Twin-Axe
Hovering is DC 15 check and it has -8 due to clumsy speed and Fly +14, so +6 on Fly checks to hover. Not automatic that it makes it every round. Unless that +14 already takes into account his speed and then it is automatic. Lol..
Bublaka
Well, the slot we could use some help in would be the heavy-hitting arcanist. That's an intimidating place to start at a high level, I know, but it's a place to start.
Valgrim Twin-Axe
Definitely Z, we would help you as much as you needed.
Some thoughts (feel free to modify to your taste):
Diviner wizard (+9 initiative at 18th level); grant ally +9 insight bonus on attack rolls and saves for 1 round (great buff!)
3 Metamagic - Intensified spell, Empower, and Quicken
Spell perfection (fire snake)
Elemental focus and Greater EF and Spell Focus and Greater SF
Assuming 28 Int (can be much higher with Tomes)
DC 10+5+9+2+2+2+2=32 Reflex save
Damage with Empowered and Intensified as 6th level spell: 30d6 (great for mowing down mobs)
and then follow up with Quickened spell as 5th level: 15d6
If something immune to fire, have elemental rod and change to other energy 3/day
Also have +20 something on all knowledge skills

I'll consider it. I generally played melee only chars, like Paladins and the like. I find magic to be extraordinarily complicated at times, especially if there's no map.
I mostly don't shoot for known builds, and therefore I'm terribly ineffective in high level play, but I will admit the idea of a paladin archer is interesting.
I do recognize that a high level mage is definitely something you have a need for, but I'd have to find the right sort of mage to be properly interesting to play.
I'll look into it further, but by all means if someone else steps in first, I'll gladly concede any dibs rights. Feel free to PM me further ideas as well, until then, keep fighting the good fight.
The Worm That Walks
It seems to me that an archer could be very effective with this group. You would just have to be mindful of DR. I think the clustered shot feat gets around DR pretty well. It is one of my least favorite feats though because why can't a melee guy just take a feat to cluster his hits too? Seems arbitrary.
Valgrim Twin-Axe
No worries Z, if you don't want to play a mage. I'd love to see your paladin archer build. Sounds fun. With Smite Evil, no need to worry about DR.
Valgrim Twin-Axe
So GM, does Exousia take share of loot? Need to know to split gold. And how much were the tapestries worth?
The Worm That Walks
Valgrim: It kind of depends on whether we get another PC. If we do than no, if we don't than yes(and she'd get levels and the like also). I would say just figure it out both ways for now and the near future will determine the truth of it. Actually, since he is considering a paladin I would say that Zerombr has the option of taking over Exousia also. Probably better to create his own customized PC though and just leave her as additional firepower.

Bubba and Friar, feel free to select if you want anything from the list.

TWTW, can we upgrade the ring of resistance +3 to +5 by paying the difference? If so, Friar would take the ring and look for a cloak.
A paladin would fit right in so welcome.
The Worm That Walks
Ferez: Absolutely, I suppose it would take whatever the crafting time is but you have the best resources available to you here (craftsmen with the best feats with the best tools available to them). Anything up to 100,000 gp is available for purchase from Magepoint.
That area effect smite evil is going to do amazing things.
Valgrim: I believe that answers the question on loot split. Exousia does not get a share.
Ferez, Valgrim, and Bublaka: would you mind giving me a ballpark figure on each of your characters current wealth values. I don't think any of you come close to 685,000 gp. If you do, than great the pally will start with that. If not, I think I'll go with the average PC wealth total for Iatos.
Friar Ferez
It's cast at 9th level the ring, so it will affect none of our enemies. I thought about it too but decided against it.
Bublaka
There are other ways to use it than to lift the foe. Flinging weaponry at them is what I was considering. Nine arrows per round at 1d4 (damage as daggers) isn't exciting, but if they are +1 bane weapons, it gets a little more interesting.
And there are utility uses to being able to lift 200+ pounds at range.
Friar Ferez
Cool, go for it then and take the ring. Bane arrows sound expensive.
My wealth level is also about 400k and I have a banner too.
Valgrim Twin-Axe
Iatos: some thoughts: I would make the belt +Con not Str. We have two heavy hitters in myself and the Angel. I think hps are key. Also with that amazing Dex save, I would recommend ring of evasion. My 2 cents.
Guardian Raya Iatos
aye, but then it wouldn't be Dex! I set myself to 400K when Valgrim mentioned it. I was indeed sorely tempted to make it con/dex, so I'll let your judgement sway my vote then.
I should be all set up to go, I think. I admit I may need a bit of correction, but hopefully nothing major. I'll PM you with something TWTW.
Thanks for having me, I realized that I couldn't let a party down, and I consider this level of play to be a challenge I haven't really attempted before!
