How are you making a ranged attack during your charge? I thought it was melee-only.
Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Dakar reads his scroll and flies away. As he does this, the dragon disappears. map is updated
Dakar Move: 30ft fly (1/2 movement because of tanglefoot bag)

For future reference, casters get nasty once 3rd-level spells come into play. If you're a mid-level character, it's absolutely necessary to be able to counter flight and invisibility. A potion of fly costs 750gp and lasts for 5min. A potion of see invisibility costs 150gp and lasts for 30min. Those consumables, or a ranged weapon w/readied actions would have evened things up. Based on what I saw, if I hadn't been flying, any one of you would have killed me in 2-4 rounds.

Again, a potion see invisibility costs 150gp. That's chump change to a 7th level character. I'm a big fan of situational consumables. Potions of stoneskin, displacement, resist energy, and protection from arrows are also potential combat-wreckers depending on the opponent. Based on what I've seen in PvP Arenas, versatility is extremely important - and becomes more and more mandatory as the levels increase.

just my 2 cent worth.
if you are to run a PvP arena then decide if it is to be martial or magic. don't mix the two.
have spellcasters face off against spellcasters and martial aganst martial.
I have always lost in these and only once I had a chance to win (spellcasters after level 5 usually end up winning. and don't even get me started with druids and summoners) (they need to be in a class by themselves)
also mounted should be paired aganst other mounted.
as the one that runs the arena it is best to never use random match-ups if you are to use performance combat. match up opponents based on the best show.

Hmm, a PvP using the dueling rules would certainly be interesting, especially at level 9+. I have to disagree though, having a whole bunch of players that can do basically the same thing face of against each other would be kind of boring. Then again... Dakar never really used his monk abilities, so basically a bunch of level 7 characters got whooped by a level 5 wizard. Having a familiar to follow you around casting invisibility on you was pretty cool though.
As much as I love them, Synthesist Summoners at least should always be outlawed, unless you're fighting a wizard or a well prepared Sorcerer...
Wait a minute, how'd you get your caster level to 7th with only 5 levels of wizard? Or get a faerie dragon familiar without being a 7th level wizard?

Magical Knack gives me +2 caster level. :-) The monk stuff was for two reasons: saving throws and early access to Kirin Style. Basically, successful Knowledge checks let me add my INT mod x2 to damage with attacks. If I ran out of magic missiles and whatnot, people would have been eating ray of frost for 1d3 + 2(evoker ability) + 10(kirin style).
And I agree with Jaron, martial vs. martial tends to turn into a stick-whacking contest. Caster vs. caster tends to turn into a "who will fail their saving throw first" contest. Mixing things up makes things exciting, and a bit of prep work will keep the playing field even. As I've stated, 900gp would have entirely negated Dakar's strategy.
And yeah, Synthesists and Master Summoners should be banned. Rather OP, and extremely easy to build incorrectly.

I like weird unorthodox builds but not OP-broken stuff, so worries there. BY the way, I'd love to join your next Arena Battle (whenever that is) if you'll have me. I'll even make a martial character if casters are an issue for you. :-)
Like a wand spamming fighter? ;-) I'll be taking an extended leave of absence from these forums pretty soon, but I have to tell you guys about the most broken build of all:
Gnome Druid with a Roc Familiar. Take the tinkering trait so that you are proficient with any weapon you make yourself, make yourself a lance, climb on your roc's back and at level one you can have a fly speed of 80ft, an attack that does 2d6 damage with a good attack bonus, and spells! Just make sure you get ride-by attack. Lets see if anyone tries that out for next time!
