Grumble about the website outage yesterday...

As long as everyone has one of the Potions of Cure Light Wounds we've found so far, Sarine doesn't feel the need for a second one yet. Ashlyn has taken a wound and might want to just use one right away now that we have a set of spares? Is that right?

Regarding magic item distribution more broadly, no one here seems interested in hoarding loot all to themselves. Given the nature of the AP, that would seem self-defeating anyway. Sarine doesn't need the Quick Runner's Shirt. Even if it is only once per day, Jenner might be interested: he missed getting into battle with the ankhegs over movement concerns, for instance. Or someone that wants to move into flanking? That's all I have.

She actually doesn't know they're cure potions yet. She failed her check to identify them and no one told her what they do. But she has the six right from the start on a bandolier so she doesn't need any of the four we just found.

Ugh, sorry for the silence, I've been dealing with a family member in the hospital. Jenner is willing to take the shirt until a sell point, though unfortunately it doesn't work well for the main purpose he'd want it (i.e., hurrying into position to heal someone). Still, he can wear it for now. Gonna go get caught up on the 28 posts I'm behind, heh.

Catching up on the loot discussion, I tend to be of the mindset that everyone should simply claim what they're most interested in, since it'll all go to general party-saving purposes.

For unclaimed loot, I like doing an equal split, with an extra party share to be used for wands of CLW, general purpose scrolls (like if we need water breathing later on, or resurrection), or if someone just needs a little extra to make a purchase.

That said, I'm a bit believer that we should also do our best to keep WBL. I tend to use overall wealth as a general tie-breaker if two people want something. While it may make more sense to kit out our melee combatants as they're more likely to get hurt, we don't want anyone suddenly having an AC or saves or whatever way too low for fights we find ourselves in.

Ashlyn's keeping the pocket watch/compass, but the scrolls are up for grabs once we decipher them. Ashlyn can't use them. Also, although Ashlyn's holding the charter right now, she wouldn't keep it. So a Lesser Talisman of Good Fortune is a neck slot item, you can wear three talismans at once, and they are one time use items. The one we found lets you reroll the dice next time you roll a natural 1 on a d20 roll. Useful to anyone, really.

Looks like... Aurelian and Flour haven't taken anything yet. Do either of you want it? Otherwise Ashlyn would like it. Does anyone else really want it? Ashlyn will wear it until that's sorted.

And Evie or Fleur... are either of you taking the scroll of burning hands or glitterdust?

And... those four extra cure light wounds potions. Do you guys want to split them one each for most of you, or two each to the pair who can't heal things (Sarine and Aurelian)? Ashlyn already has a bunch.

I think that's all the unclaimed gear we have right now.

I think splitting is fine, though I prefer to use my potions outside combat. Never hurts for everyone to have one on hand for absolute emergencies. I'll claim two (I had one already, so now have three, so if someone wants one of them...).

You can hold onto the talisman. Note that it's auto-activate. Thus if you roll a 1 on something that's not super important, it'll activate, so you may not want to put it on right away.

I may have a spot in a newly started Ironfang Invasion PBP if anyone's interested. One person's not yet posted, and though he said in a PM that he would, I'm not going to give him too much more benefit of the doubt, especially when it's really easy to bring new people in at this point in the adventure, but a little tougher later on.

Hey guys. I have a long-running campaign that I need to convert over to play-by-post (players moved, ect.) I've never started a campaign this way before. Is there anything I should know before I start pushing buttons to get that done?

Edit: OK, more than just "what should I know". I thought there would be some sort of 'start new campaign' button somewhere, as this campaign we're in now is obviously more than just a thread. I don't see one though. How does this happen?

Hm...I went to Online Campaigns, then Play-by-Post and Add New Thread. It didn't show any option for making the post be a campaign.

There's something I'd like to pitch at you if you're receptive-- warpriests don't exactly get 'domain spells' the way clerics do, but I find it vaguely frustrating both in terms of roleplay and mechanics that I can't pick up longstrider for Jenner as I could if he were a cleric. Would you be amenable to letting him memorize it as a first level spell due to his travel blessing? I'm almost considering having him dip his third level into pure cleric just to pick up the move speed benefits, though it would be a little subpar, so if you'd simply let me use a spell splot on longstrider instead I'd take it. If not, that's fine and I respect the balance guidelines of the classes. :P
