This is a discussion thread.

Thanks for the selection, GM! Once the gameplay thread is opened up I'll dot in their as well.

I've opened the gameplay thread. Feel free to roleplay IC with each other in there.

Pelius is ready for service, sir!!

I've seen Antonius and Pelius are a couple of old geezers.

I think its safe to assume that we all know each other relatively well given how long we've been travelling together.

Is there anything anyone is keeping secret/wouldn't have shared along the way? All of the information on my sheet is free reign in that regard.

Inara will share anything she knows. She's very open.

I'll get a proper introductory post up tomorrow.

After looking some of your backgrounds, I was thinking that Old Hunter Antonius can be charged on having an eye to the charged of being a Cheliax spy ex-convict (Pelius) by Commander Gerregne.

That's fine by me if that's what you want to do.

Hmm. It seems like Rorek might be a no-show.

Out of the other characters, who do you guys think we should take on to replace him?

Lvl 5| HP: 26/32| AC: 12; T: 12; FF: 10; CMD 13 | Fort: +8; Ref: +3; Will: +8 | Perception: +13 | Init +2 | Channeling 0/9 day

I think Diego Rossi's Johannes "Pancer" Schneider character can be a correct sustitute for Rorek's inquisitor. (As much as game mechanic concerns)
From the fluff part, he is an Andoran soldier that can get well along with Antonius and help him handle the rebelious Cheliax spy. XD

Was there a list of applicants we could look over? I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't follow things too closely near the end.

I don't think one was ever compiled. I can gather one for you.

A few more people also recounted their applications late on, haven't included them here for obvious reasons.

In no particular order:
Daliya, human wizard//monk/paladin, 'mysterious' heavily tattooed woman.
Trask, Hobgoblin Monk//Rogue/Gunslinger, Equilibrium inspired.
Johannes "Panzer", human fighter//inquisitor, heavily armored tank.
Dumah, ifrit bard//swashbuckler, out to prove that he's not just another good-for-nothing story-teller, but a hero.
Prophet of the Dragon, Human skald//summoner, is a doomsday prophet and servant of his dragon eidolon.
Strake, half-elf rogue//sorcerer, good-hearted criminal, undertaking the mission in exchange for freedom.
Al Sa-Her, azata-blooded aasimar swashbuckler//bard/warlord, dervish warrior poet.
Caurast, brine dragon draconic examplar//sorcerer, an adventuring dragon who wants to lord over stuff.
Celenil, elven aasimar druid//ranger, who's a long way from home.
Sir Gresham, human Fighter//Cavalier, Hell knight and Chelian spy.
Seila, mouse-touched aasimar oracle//warlord, ADHD paladin and leader of men.
Quon, garuda-blooded aasimar stalker//monk, holy warrior monk.
Tamara, human sorcerer//wizard/paladin/oracle/warlord, socialite warrior/mage.
Zinkov, half-drow torturer.
Kristo Markeen(two-part link), human investigator//rogue, Andoran spy.

Then there's Andulian Vogh, who's used his alias for something else. I think he was a fearmonger antipaladin, orphaned at a young age, and turned out to be a "lord of the flies", as he put it.

Ye gods. I get why you needed me to make a list. There's a lot of people there. If there's someone you can agree to like, I'll pick up that person, except if it's Tamara.

What was Rorek? An Inquisitor of some kind?

I can agree with Panzer as well, in that light.

Rorek was a gunslinger with monk and inquisitor on the side. Mostly a long-range character.

I like Panzer as well. Have a meat shield is always nice.

One panzer coming up.

Just sent him a pm. I figure he'll be around soon enough, and we can get the ball rolling.

Silver Crusade

Sorry, I'm putting this in all my games. I've been in a pretty bad accident this past Sunday. I'll be alright but I haven't checked any of my threads or games, and likely won't be posting frequently for another few days at best. If that's OK I'd still like to participate. My apologies- rorek55

Thanks for the invite. I see that Rorek showed up and had valid reasons to be a not show. I leave the choice to you.

It truly does put us in a bit of an awkward spot.

I think it falls on the GM at this point.

I can run this with five players. Booting someone for being in an accident would be bad form.

When you become able to post again rorek, you're welcome to join. I've also invited Diego to join, and that holds even when rorek comes back. We'll just run with five players.

Nevertheless, we've spent a long time to start up, so I'll put up the first gameplay post now.

Johannes is travelling with the group, part of their mission, and Kyras is scouting out the area. He'll return, conveniently, when rorek does.

Just a second before you post to the IC: There's a part two I need to set up first.

Okay, I've added the combat map to the campaign info.

Those of you who have spellcraft, linguistics, knowledge: Local, and/or knowledge: the Planes can roll them for extra info.

Lvl 5| HP: 26/32| AC: 12; T: 12; FF: 10; CMD 13 | Fort: +8; Ref: +3; Will: +8 | Perception: +13 | Init +2 | Channeling 0/9 day

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
Knowledge:Local: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Knowledge:Planes: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

Pelius Pindleloric:
Spellcraft: The prayer you heard was divine caster casting invisibility.

Knowledge:Local: The men are some kind of man-sized goblinoids.
Knowledge:The planes: The hounds are fire-breathing beasts from Hell, called, appropriately, hell-hounds. They're found on the material plane a lot more than other outsiders, although they aren't native to this plane, often in service of evil cults. Fire-giants like to keep them as pets, as they have the Fire subtype and are immune to the heat that surround those giants.

These seem bigger than the regular version.

Edit: Updated the info.

I forgot to mention, being in a square with forrest gives you concealment(20%), and those squares count as difficult terrain.

so. 20% miss chance on the trip attempt: result of '1' is a miss:

Sorry Johannes, I think the hound and hobgoblin on our eastern flank have made themselves a more pressing problem. We're back to back right now, hopefully that'll save us from flanking for a round.

The positions shifted.

Questions for the GM:
- my DR applies even against the pistol damage? It is a touch attack, so it is possible it don't.
- you haven't applied the fire resistance against the fire damage, right?

No resistance is applied. I'll have to read up on the damage reduction. As an aside, it's not your turn yet, so if you could delete that gameplay post before the editing grace period wears off, that'd be good.

Initiative Order:

1: Inari + Pelius + Johannes.
2: Hounds + Glaive Warrior.
3: Antonius
4: Ambushers
5: Cleric.
6: Repeat.

Right now Antonius has just taken his turn. It's not your turn until the cleric and the rank-and-file warriors have acted. Sorry for not making that 100% clear before.

Edit: Your Damage Reduction applies even vs firearm attacks.

Edit2: Ah, it seems the hour of deletion is passed. It's okay, those will just be your actions for when it does become your turn.

It's quite all right. I think you took the wrong damage value for the shot though - 24 is the to hit, the damage was only 13.

I forgot skinwalkers shapeshift was a standard action. I have to give better consideration to when I'll use it. The bonuses are great but obviously I don't want to be walking around the streets looking, let's say, unpleasant. Perhaps I should invest in Disguise next level to help mitigate the social issues.

Inara ;)

Yes. I have problems with I/A when it comes to the end of names. I have renamed characters by accident because of this. I will do my best to remember.

Sorry.

Hopefully I killed 6. If I did, Johannes should have a clear route to attack the Hobgoblin leader without provoking any AoOs.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter (armor master) 5/inquisitor of Abadar 5 Lvl 5| HP: 52| AC: 26; T: 14; FF: 24: DR 3/-; Longswoord +11, 1d8+7 CMB +9; CMD 22 | Fort: +8; Ref: +4; Will: +8 (+2 vs Charm and compulsion)| Perception: +11 | Init +5

Round 3 Unless I am mistaken

1: Inara - Done
+ Pelius - done
+ Johannes - done
2: Hounds - done
+ Glaive Warrior - done
3: Antonius - done

4: Ambushers
5: Cleric.
6: Repeat.

So I will have to wait to see what do the ambushers (if someone is still active) the invisible clerics and Inara action for round 4.

I should follow your example e put the round number in my post. useful.

Correct damage Current HP 30/52

Hmm. Firing your dragon pistol still provokes AoO, right? I don't see point blank master on your sheet.

Quick channeling again, and casting defensively => invisibility.
The DC is 15 + spell level x2 =>19
Moving 5' north.

Drained myself from a lot of resources, not sure if I choose the most clever actions. XD

Game Master the Dragon wrote:

It does provoke, though it is worth mentioning that point blank master isn't the only way to remove AoOs. I figured it was worth running the risk. Being at -6 after everything, that may have been a poor assumption.

Aaand I went and called her Inari agian. I really am trying to get it right, spent time thinking about it before posting and everything. -.-'

We wait for Inara or I go and post?

So long as your turns are next to each other, I don't mind if someone posts before or after one another.

The hobgoblin has exhausted her supply of AoOs for the round.

As an aside, did you only just now draw your shield? If you have your shield out, you can't grip the sword two-handed without either dropping the shield or stowing it. (standard action)

That is why I am using a buckler.

PRD wrote:

Buckler: This small metal shield is worn strapped to your forearm. You can use a bow or crossbow without penalty while carrying it. You can also use your shield arm to wield a weapon (whether you are using an off-hand weapon or using your off hand to help wield a two-handed weapon), but you take a –1 penalty on attack rolls while doing so. This penalty stacks with those that may apply for fighting with your off hand and for fighting with two weapons. In any case, if you use a weapon in your off hand, you lose the buckler's AC bonus until your next turn. You can cast a spell with somatic components using your shield arm, but you lose the buckler's AC bonus until your next turn. You can't make a shield bash with a buckler.

It was already out.

It is ideal for a inquisitor.
When casting spells shift weapon to the buckler hand, cast with the other hand, then shift the weapon back. You don't lose AC as you aren't casting with the buckler hand.
If you need extra damage with power attack and are fairly confidant to hit, grip your weapon 2 handed. You lose the AC from the shield and get a further -1 to hit but your damage increase noticeably.
And you can use a bow without hindrances.

Very "handy".

BTW, you want a copy of the character sheet made with Herolab?

A heavy shield would be appropriate to the main theme, but Panzer is a practical guy. The buckler work better for his goals.
