M Vishkanya Bard/Archaeologist 12

I'm really sorry, I just don't know what else I can possibly do that won't get me instant death. I'm not mythic like the rest of you, but I could try one of my spells to blind or enthrall it...though since it basically just shrugged off a mythic fire ball, I really don't see that happening.

Female Dhampir Gunslinger 4; HP: 32/33; AC: 17, T: 14, FF: 13, Init: +4; Fort: +4, Ref: +8, Will: +4; Perception +10

I told you guys, the dead dude with the journal made this guardian person out to be some kind of badass so use caution. Whatever defensive kind of stuff you have, I would do all that before engaging him. Just...be careful and may the odds be forever in your favor. Maybe Cyna can put a bunch of holes in him and whittle him down a bit?

I'm just gonna say, GO TEAM KICKASS!! But...be smart and safe

Most of Cyna's arrows find their target. The figure grunts as he is hit. "Well, that hurt a bit..."

M Vishkanya Bard/Archaeologist 12

Since I haven't really done anything yet this round, I'm just gonna try to blind him I guess?

Roshan decides to try and do something. Weaving his hands in an intricate pattern, Roshan chants the words to a spell as he tries tuo help his companions.

Gonna try to cast blindness. I think the dc is a 17 to save against it?

SR: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32

Roshan learns something new as the undead seems to be immune to his blindness spell.

M Vishkanya Bard/Archaeologist 12

"Okay, well my blindness spell didn't seem to have an effect on it, but I'm still not sure what "it" is." Roshan states in case one of the others can figure it out.

Female Anizari Cleric 12/ Mythic Tier Heirophant 2 ; HP: 79/79; AC: 21, FF: 18, T: 13; Init: +2, Fort: +17 Ref: +14, Will: +21; Perception: +9

Celia studies the pale man, trying to determine his nature.

Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15

Sensing the predatory nature of their opponent, Celia intones a quick prayer of protection to Aroden, reaching out to rest a hand on Roshan's shoulder.

Cast Wrathful mantle: +3 resistance bonus on all saving throws. (can end the wrathful mantle at any time as a swift action to deal 2d8 points of force damage to all creatures within 5 feet.)

Like Roshan, Celia cannot determine what the pale man is. The figure touches his breast plate and is surrounded by a shadowy aura. He then approaches the group.

Holy Crap holy crap holy crap. Don't forget your defenses Sadhana. I just pray that you guys can end him before things get too ugly.

He hasn't even done anything yet...

Female Aasimar Warpriest 12; Mythic tier 3rd (Marshal); HP: 102/102; AC: 25(28), FF: 19, T: 14; Init: +5, Fort: +12, Ref: +7, Will: +15; Perception: +9

He dusted himself off after getting hit with a MYTHIC fireball like it was no big deal. Cyna is just...Cyna, so of course she kicked his ass...but then with all the fancy dark shadowy armor and he doesn't have to do anything for me to feel the forebodingness of it all. Lol

Female Human (Anizari) Female Human (Anizari) Magus (Bladebound) 14 : Mythic tier 4th (Champion ); HP: 160/160; AC:34 FF:30, T:15; Init:+5, Fort: +12, Ref: +6, Will: +10; Perception:+4(+6)

Sādhanā’s eyes narrow as she studies the approaching enemy. Reaching within she calls upon her inner font of arcane power, tracing a glowing rune on her shield, the magic binding to her. Taking a step forward she speaks an arcane incantation, her skin rapidly shifting, transmuting to dark grey stone, as her tattoos glitter like gems. "Take another step toward any of us, and you lose your head!"

Active effects:
Stone skin (DR 10/Adamantine up to 100pts)
+2 deflection bonus to AC and resistance 5 against all elements (acid, cold, electricity, fire, and sonic)

Sādhanā determines that their opponent is a fext, an undead creature with considerable prowess. They are resistant to spells, immune to cold, resistant to electricity and fire, able to curse their enemies and almost unkillable. Only glass and obsidian weapons can overcome their defenses and slay them. They are only knocked unconscious by other means and begin healing themselves shortly after being incapacitated. The only other method to permanently destroy a fext is to decapitated the unconscious undead and anoint its head with holy water.

Round 2: Sienna, Roshan, Cyna, Celia, Figure, Sadhana

Lacking the materials to suppress the advancing enemy Cyna quickly fires another volley of well aimed arrows.
"Undead always have weird quirks, I really should be more prepared than this." The ranger mutters to herself.

The fext collapses as Cyna's arrows pierce its body.

1d4 ⇒ 3

Combat Over...probably.

Female Tiefling Sorcerer 14; Mythic Tier 4th (Archmage) HP: 103/103; AC: 21, T: 14, FF: 17; Fort: +8, Ref: +10, Will: +11, Init: +12, Perception: +11

"If I knew we needed holy water, I would have kept that stupid aspergillum," Sienna says to Cyna.

M Vishkanya Bard/Archaeologist 12

Roshan's jaw drops, "Uhhh...wow...okay then. Sooo...we just have to decapitate it now and pour some holy water on it right? Sooo....is there anyone that can make some? I just...I wasn't prepared for...well, anyh of that really." He says, feeling a little disappointed that he wasn't more help. Did they even really need him there? They seemed more than capable of taking down evil on their own. Was he contributing anything at all? Roshan shakes his head to try and clear it, while he waits to see what they needed to do about the undead thing on the floor with Cyna's many arrows sticking out of it.

Female Human (Anizari) Female Human (Anizari) Magus (Bladebound) 14 : Mythic tier 4th (Champion ); HP: 160/160; AC:34 FF:30, T:15; Init:+5, Fort: +12, Ref: +6, Will: +10; Perception:+4(+6)

"It's all right, we can make sure he doesn't recover." Sādhanā says walking over to the body, and cleanly severing the man's head in a swift strike. "Celia."

Celia nods, walking over to the corpse as she utters a brief prayer to Aroden, taking out her waterskin.

Cast Bless Water

Standing over the head, she proceeds to pour holy water over it, anointing the undead

Roshan just stands there and watches in amazement as it seems as though there is almost nothing these women can't do. He had worked with various people before, but he had never seen a team work so cohesively as this one.

Hearing the stories was one thing, but seeing them in action was quite another. Not really knowing what else to do, Roshan looks around the area they were in. If that guy was a guardian, he had to be guarding something.

Perception: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (14) + 22 = 36

As the fext's body dissolves into fine ash, Roshan notices that the window above the throne no longer glows purple. He can spot something shadowy behind it. The wooden frame of the window seems to be decorated in gold runes, but he cannot make them out.

M Vishkanya Bard/Archaeologist 12

Roshan points out what he notices to the others, "Can anyone make out what that says?"

Soooo....Iv sort of lost track of where we're supposed to be with everything we're doing right now. Are we supposed to be taking the Nymphs sister somewhere?

To Lysse, so you can find someone who can scry and find the other sisters.

Female Human (Anizari) Female Human (Anizari) Magus (Bladebound) 14 : Mythic tier 4th (Champion ); HP: 160/160; AC:34 FF:30, T:15; Init:+5, Fort: +12, Ref: +6, Will: +10; Perception:+4(+6)

Sadhana walks over to where Roshan is pointing, to take a closer look.

I couldn't beat that Perception check on my best day.

Sadhana sees the window sits about twenty feet above the throne and the walls do not lend themselves to climbing.

M Vishkanya Bard/Archaeologist 12

That's why you have me here, so you don't have to.

Female Human (Anizari) Female Human (Anizari) Magus (Bladebound) 14 : Mythic tier 4th (Champion ); HP: 160/160; AC:34 FF:30, T:15; Init:+5, Fort: +12, Ref: +6, Will: +10; Perception:+4(+6)

Quickly speaking a word of magic to activate her boots, the magus flies up to the window's level.

M Vishkanya Bard/Archaeologist 12

Considering everything the other team had to fight to get to this point, and the fact that what was hidden is so important that they had a powerful undead guarding it....Roshan has second thoughts about the magus investigating it byh herself.

Holding up a hand he calls out to the magus, "Ms. Sadhana, wait. Obviously this item is of great importance if it was so heavily guarded. I'm concerned that it might be trapped as well. Is there a way you could get me up there so I could check it for you first? If it is trapped, I might be able to disable it without causing youj harm." He says, hoping to keep thed magus from doing anything too hasty.

Female Human (Anizari) Female Human (Anizari) Magus (Bladebound) 14 : Mythic tier 4th (Champion ); HP: 160/160; AC:34 FF:30, T:15; Init:+5, Fort: +12, Ref: +6, Will: +10; Perception:+4(+6)

"Makes sense I suppose." Sādhanā says in agreement.

M Vishkanya Bard/Archaeologist 12

Roshan nods and then blushes, "I...I just...I need a boost to get at it, if you don't mind? It's just, I don't really have a way to get up to it on my own." He says, sounding embarrassed that he actually has to be lifted up by a woman that was practically a stranger to him, so that he could look over it for traps.

Sienna touches Roshan's shoulder. "Now you do."

Cast Fly on Roshan for 14 minutes.

M Vishkanya Bard/Archaeologist 12

Roshan tries to cover the look of shock on his face as he starts to rise in the air towards the window, "Uhh...thanks Ms. Sienna. I think I can get to it now." Roshan concentrates on where he needs to go, and then checks it and thed surrounding area for traps.

Perception of traps: 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (10) + 27 = 37

In Roshan's rush to be of use to the group, he starts looking over the window. His eye falls on a rune that looks like it shouldn't belong, but, before he can determine the significance, the rune starts glowing brightly before it explodes in the bard's face.

Explosive Runes: 6d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 3, 6, 5, 2) = 25

The window shatters, revealing a silver scroll case in the alcove that was behind it.

M Vishkanya Bard/Archaeologist 12

Roshan falls back to the ground with a resounding thud, "Trap...disarmed." He says, pouring some water into his hands from his waterskin and splashing it in his face.

M Vishkanya Bard/Archaeologist 12

Ouch...that actually hurt quite a bit. That leaves me with 56hp. Guess I need to remember to detect magic on stuff.

M Vishkanya Bard/Archaeologist 12

Though he tries to hide it, it's obvious that Roshan was hurt more than he let on.

Letting out a slight groan as the water hits his singed face, Roshan utters a spell and touches his hand to his face to try and heal some of the damage. It was a foolish mistake not to check for magic properties before getting that close to it, but at least he was the only one hurt.

Cure Mod: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (8, 3) + 10 = 21

Roshan lets out a sigh of relief as the spell heals most of the damage from the blast.

"That was an interesting approach," Sienna says. "So...what's behind the window?"

M Vishkanya Bard/Archaeologist 12

Roshan dusts himself off as he stands up, "It was my fault for not checking for magical properties first. I'll know better for the next time. From the brief glance I got at it before landing on the ground, it looked like some kind of scroll case."

Sienna raises an eyebrow. "Would you like one of us to go get it?"

M Vishkanya Bard/Archaeologist 12

Roshan shakes his head to clear it, "Sorry, no...it's okay. I can get it, I guess getting knocked back just sort of discombobulated me for a moment."

Flying back up to thed window, Roshan retrieves the scroll case and takes it to Sienna, "Is this what you needed?"

Sādhanā winces as the runes explode in Roshan's face, though she's happy to see that he was able to withstand what had to be a pretty vicious blast, healing most of the damage and dusting himself off.

"Whatever it is, it's definitely of great value, to put a magical trap like that on it, assuming someone was able to make it past the guardian." Sādhanā comments.

M Vishkanya Bard/Archaeologist 12

Roshan looks at Cyna, "I'm grateful for that at least, but next time I'll be more careful. If I had been more careful and checked for magic first, that probably wouldn't have happened." He sort of shrugs, "It wasn't fatal this time at least, and I've been through worse than that and survived.....barely. This just served as a reminder not tyo rush into things, and now I'm really curious to see what's in here and find out just what was so important." He says with a nod towards Sādhanā as he holds out the scroll case towards them.
