Dots all around.

Dot.
As a side note, I have the Trap Spotter rogue talent;
Trap Spotter: Whenever you come within 10 feet of a trap, you receive an immediate Perception skill check to notice the trap. This check should be made in secret by the GM.

There is a minimum number of characters. I'm not quite sure what it is, but a period in OOC tags will work.

So I've completed my character update, and purchased everything I think will be useful.
Can we assume we've been given a briefing letting us know we'll be mountain climbing, allowing us to purchase things like climbing kits and cold weather gear?
GM Amsheagar, I noticed your post in the recruitment thread that with 6 players you would add a monster. According to the guide to PFSOP, six players on a season 0-3 scenario automatically play at the higher tier, so we'd be using the 4-5 tier scenario monsters instead of the 1-2.
I personally am OK with this since I like the challenge this offers, and many scenarios only truly reach their full story potential when played at their highest tier.
I should let you know that I have GMed this scenario before by adapting it to my home game (not for PFS credit) and I will keep my OOC knowledge of the story separate from the character knowledge. If you think I'm letting it 'leak', so to speak, please just let me know in a PM and I'll watch my step.

From what i remember, it doesn't automatically bump you up to the next tier, it gives you a +1 on the calculation. But, if you guys want to play up i'll do it.
Besides that, i will be busy for the two days, so i won't be able to post.

![]() |

Post any purchases that you've made here. I might ask for it again at the end of the scenario.

![]() |

In my case, the character is brand new. Everything on his sheet, basically, I just bought: lamellar (leather) armor, arrows (20), dagger, shortbow, backpack, fishhook (2), flint and steel, sewing needle, signal whistle, thread (50 ft.). I have now 51 gp, 6 sp, 5 cp.

![]() |

Since my last chronicle, I purchased Cold Weather Outfit (8gp), Darkwood Composite Longbow (+2 Str) (2PP), wand of Protection from evil (2PP), a scroll of 2x endure elements (50g), a spiked gauntlet 5g, a healers kit, Climbers kit (80g), healer's kit (50g) and an antiplague (50g).
Note: I have a Whetstone and use it to sharpen my katana whenever 15 minutes of time is available.

From my add up of the levels, our APL is 2. So we would have to play Tier 1-2 as written. We can't choose to play up.
I picked up a climbers kit and masterwork battleaxe and a wand of cure light wounds for 2 PP.

About take 10 -- it's really designed for situations where there is a low chance of failure, so you can take the average and avoid it, in routine situations.
Taking 10: When your character is not in immediate danger or distracted, you may choose to take 10. Instead of rolling 1d20 for the skill check, calculate your result as if you had rolled a 10. For many routine tasks, taking 10 makes them automatically successful. Distractions or threats (such as combat) make it impossible for a character to take 10. In most cases, taking 10 is purely a safety measure—you know (or expect) that an average roll will succeed but fear that a poor roll might fail, so you elect to settle for the average roll (a 10). Taking 10 is especially useful in situations where a particularly high roll wouldn't help.
Take 20 doesn't allow consequences on a failure, but take 10 does, otherwise there'd never be any situation where you could take 10 on anything.

I require rolls for situations where damage could result in a failure.

Hey guys, I'm not gonna be posting reliably for about the next 4-5 days. I'm travelling south to PaizoCon UK for a long weekend.

![]() |

Okay. We'll pause after this combat until you get back.

![]() |

I've only just realised there are only 5 of us. I didn't realise the Tengu hadn't join in.
Travelling back today, so hopefully normal posting can resume for me tomorrow.

Okay, i need to make this list now and save it for all of my games. Take 10 and Take 20. What you can use them on and what you can't use them on.
Outside of Combat
Okay to take 10 on
Acrobatics, Appraise, Climb, Craft, Disable Device, Disguise, Fly, Handle Animal, Heal, Knowledge Checks, Linguistics, Perception, Perform, Profession, Ride, Sense Motive, Sleight of Hand, Stealth, Spellcraft, Survival and Swim.
Okay to take 20
Appraise, Craft, Disguise, Fly, Handle Animal, Heal, Perform, Profession, Ride, Sense Motive, and Survival.
While in Combat
Take 10 on Perception, Sense Motive, and Appraise.
It is not okay to take a 20 while in combat on anything.
There will be times that I will require a roll, these times might mean that we are going into a combat, or that there is something you need to see. At these times, I will state “Please Roll”

I like the list...very helpful.
Though as a trap-finder, I think you're missing a couple on Take 20.
"Common “take 20” skills include Disable Device (when used to open locks), Escape Artist, and Perception (when attempting to find traps)."

You are correct, Saarai Shae.

Hey guys... i won't be able to post as often for the next few weeks.... i sorta broke my laptop screen today... Currently using my projector... but it's blurry.

![]() |

Hey all:
I will be on a 50-mile backpacking trip to Kings Peak in Utah until Friday, and will have no connectivity whatsoever. I'll return to my mosty-posty self thereafter.
Feel free to bot me, or other players can take actions for me. See you all when I return!

I have contacted a friend to see if he can take over my games until I can get my PC fixed.

![]() |

Thanks for looking, I don't mind waiting. Tough luck with your pc.

With game day coming up, I'm hoping to get some characters freed up.
Is the computer coming along? Do you think you will be able to complete this one?
Happy to wait...just checking. :)

![]() |

Sorry for the troubles. I have a monitor from a friend.
I have signed part 2 up for Gameday4

![]() |

Hey folks, sorry I haven't posted recently. My girlfriend and I broke up so my head has been elsewhere of late. I'm hoping to getting back into the habit in short order, sorry for the absence.

![]() |

That's okay man. I have been out of it myself. Get better and come back to us when your mind is healed.

![]() |

Hey folks, I'm more or less back in action now. What is needed to get me up to speed? I've seen a few saving throws etc since my last post. Do you just want me to do one big post covering all these saving throws/skills checks etc?
Again, sorry for my absence. It's been a rough month or so.

![]() |

If you weren't here for the fort saves from altitude, i need those. Other than that, just this last fight.

![]() |

Sorry, I have posted in other games, must have forgotten this one. I am in the middle of a move and without interwebs until Saturday. At which point, I'll update each game.
